Hiya,

Just thought it might be nice to start a thread for those of us due in May 2010. I know its only early days but I followed one of these whilst being pg with DS1 and it was invaluable.

Couldn't find one for my dates this time round (might be wrong?) so thought it would be nice to get together, share stories and follow the progress with some others in the same time-period.

I'm due 6/7 May I think. Didn't really plan to have such a short gap between DS1 and DC2 but also didn't do much to prevent it. (IYSWIM!)

Have started feeling nauseous already(!) which I can't believe as I didn't have it nearly as early as this last time round. No sickness last time and a very enjoyable pregnancy - so am hoping for the same again this time round. Slight disaster with giving birth 2 weeks early with no hospital notes or hospital bag, two hours from home and at a family funeral...(!) So am going to stay AT HOME near the end this time round. Really looking forward to giving birth again. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience last time and looking forward to hearing other peoples stories and sharing our pg's together!

Sophie2008 congratulations TWINS...wow, that must have been a shock! I keep thinking thats what I must be expecting as Ive put so much weight on and Im only just 10 weeks. I cant believe it!
I felt really fed up last night, went to a fancy dress party, couldnt drink and my outfit was 2 sizes too small. And everyone thought I was really boring because I wasnt drinking....its not that Im an alcholic, but a partys one thing but to be in fancy dress sober is another!
Feeling very sick, still got a cold and really feeling down. Sorry to moan, but as nobody knows, ive gotta moan to someone! Dh is about as sympathetic as .... I dont know what but not very!!

KateM77 · 05/10/2009 19:28

mustbemadno3 I share your pain. Heading off for a 3 day conference tomorrow and will have to be 'on antibiotics' for the duration. Really not looking forward to being the only sober one in the room. Still, at least I won't be in fancy dress!

Roll on 3 weeks time when I'll have had my scan and can finally tell people!

TMD · 06/10/2009 08:08

Hi just jumped over from a thread I started without realising one already existed! Soz girlies! :-)

This is my 4th preg but only second successful preg (So far), I'm due 4th of March. Just feeling the beginnings of kicks 19weeks on thurs. Bit earlier than i did with my first. So I am starting to relax a little now and getting quite excited. Am Suffering badly with sinusitis and am taking antibiotics as the pain is awful in my face. I have tried everything but still feel like my head is top heavy. Not once got poorly during my first pregnancy So feeling sorry for myself!!!

I'm glad to say my sickness has finally worn off couple weeks ago. So can now eat a little better. I have only gained 2.5kg so far so I'm hoping that I won't have too much to loose after the birth.

Great to read everyones posts and I'll check in here from now on promise!
Take care all.

urmagic · 06/10/2009 23:20

Hi
Can I join? Due 28/05/10 had scan yesterday and seen a heart beat which was great after miscarriage in April. The boobs and sickness is driving me nuts in maternity bras already and what a relief no more unwired for me. I started reading this thread a few weeks ago but didn't want to jinx anything by joining early. Was expecting twins but lost one yesterday. just pleased we still have a heart beat. I thought it might be twins as I was on clomid and sickness was so bad. Lets hope we all have a safe journey

newmomma · 07/10/2009 09:17

Hi urmagic

The sickness is such hard work isn't it? Can't believe it might go on for another 8/9 weeks, it didn't stop for me last time until about 18 weeks... bleurgh.

Sorry to hear about the twin you lost, but you must be so happy to have seen the heart beat on your scan - such a relief as you said. Wonderful news.

Still stressing about telling my boss about getting pregnant whilst still on maternity leave and about what to do jobwise. My Dad has offered me a job which would mean I don't have to put my LO('s) into nursery and would therefore be much more financially beneficial for us. Nursery equates to approx 52% of my salary... But its not quite such a secure company and its working with fmaily rather than a large long standing company... blah blah. Anyway - I'm sure I should go with my Dad but my hubbie's not sure and so we're arguing about it. I just wish I could make a definate decision so that I can stop hiding this latest pregnancy from work friends/colleagues and just get things sorted.

Anyway... rant over.

Hi, I guess I don't really belong on this thread as I'm due on 01/06/10 but there isn't a June thread and I really need to talk to someone, anyone about being pregnant as I haven't told anyone in RL (except DH)cos it's such early days.

I'm feeling so tired at the moment and not generally getting much sleep at night, the morning sickness has just started to kick in and I feel like shit. My brain is just not playing ball either!!! DH keeps commenting on how he thinks I've 'lost the plot'!!

I'm feeling a bit guilty too as last week I started a new job, it's only a couple of days a week (I also have another job in the evenings) and I only found out I was PG 2 days before I started but it still doesn't make me feel any better about it. I hope when I eventually tell them they don't feel like I've deceived them in anyway???

newmomma I hate thinking about how much longer I've got left of this sicky feeling too. For me it's only just starting to kick in so I'm sure it's going to get worse before it gets better!

Caitni · 07/10/2009 10:46

Mampam, I've not read this thread (am due in March 10) but there is an Antenatal Clubs section on Mumsnet with monthly threads for whatever month you're due - see here for the June 2010 thread.

There's also a May 2010 thread in the Antenatal Clubs section - see [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/831768-Due-may-2010-the-second-thread here]] but I guess you all prefer to be in the pregnancy section .

Good luck to you all

I'm back and survived the conference! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - at least I didn't have to do any of it hungover. Sure work colleagues now have their suspicions though but thankfully have been too polite to say anything. Only a couple of weeks to go before I can tell people

hampdenpark27 · 10/10/2009 08:47

Hello ladies, I'm also due in may, the 11th roughly. My first son is 5 and a half and as soon as i get to my 12 week scan i can't wait to tell him he's gonna be a big brother.I don't really remember much about my first pregnancy, but this time round its sickness, (morning sickness should be called any time of the day sickness) and cravings galore. I'm only 9 weeks and already my skinny jeans don't fit. I think it's great that this thread has been started, being agrophobic i have trouble getting to antenatal classes, and such, so i shall be one here, so yeah, look forward to getting to know you all

hampdenpark27 · 10/10/2009 09:00

hello ladies, i'm also due in may 2010. this is my 2nd child and i'm so excited. i'm only 9 weeks and already my skinny jeans don't fit, my boobs feel like lead balloons and morning sickness is horrible. i don't really remember my first pregnancy that well, so this time round i am making a journal. i look forward to getting to know you all.

hampdenpark27 · 10/10/2009 09:02

did my post come up twice???? stupid net!

newmomma · 12/10/2009 09:20

hey hampdenpark27 this is my second pg too but my first will only be 16 months when his bro/sis is born so theres not much point in me telling him! but i bet it will be lovely telling your 5yo that he'll be getting a bro/sis of his very own. :-)
sorry to hear you're agrophobic tho - that must make life hard. my husband suffers too...

kateM77 glad your conference went well - i convinced myself that ALL of my colleagues had figured out that i pg first time around but when i told them, they were all amazed. they had NO idea. i think it's such a huge deal for us mums-to-be that it seems odd that everyone else can't just read us like books.

still feeling rough as dogs, but have finally decided what to do re: going back to work (still on maternity leave, ahem) and feel much happier about things. just wish the nausea would pass. eating for england just to try and stop feeling so bad but its making me feel pretty rough coz i permanently feel like i've eaten too much as well.

still no news about a date for my scan - can't wait......!!!!!

Hi all, great to see there's a thread for mums due in May 2010. I just arrived in Newcastle and am still feeling my way about. Including finding out about prenatal care in the UK! It's my second child. The first is 2yrs old and in need of making new friends, after she lost the bunch back home. Hoping things work out well for this pregnancy. Seen the midwife once so far.

first1 · 12/10/2009 16:13

Thanks Kate =) Sorry for the late reply. 9 weeks today and sickness is slightly calming down though I'm eating so much I feel minging! Already got a bit of a tummy showing but been told thats quite normal if you're slight to begin with? Booking appointment on Thursday (finally!) and next scan on 2nd November =) How is everyone?

MoggMum · 13/10/2009 10:41

Hi, I'm expecting my first child mid May and just wondered whether there are any other 'older' Mums out there due around the same time? Terrible nausea at the moment & can't stop eating! First midwife app this Fri but had early scan at 8 weeks and all ok. Can't wait for 12 week scan so I can finally tell people why I'm acting so strange!

Kazmog · 13/10/2009 18:37

hello, please can I join too! expecting on the 11th of May, I'm 38 and its my first. Haven't had any appointments yet so feel a little in no-mans land but looking forward to having a scan and telling people. Was sick from 6 weeks and it seems to be easing off (but too scared to say it incase it comes back!!) Good luck to everyone.

babytwo · 13/10/2009 23:09

Hi there,
I'd like to join this thread, having recently found out I am expecting our second baby (I think I'm due 18th May), with what will be a small 18 month gap between the two. It seems as though there are a few of you who are in the same position and it'd be great to share our experiences.
I'm really looking forward to our first scan (on 5th November) when we can get the first glimpse of our new little one.
Finding it quite exhausting looking after 11 month old and dealing with waves of nausea throughout the day and all with little sympathy from husband (who probably thinks I should be immune to pregnancy issues since I've done it before!).
Not being able to tell people yet is driving me mad and so it's great to be able to talk about it here and make it seem a little more real!!!

newmomma · 14/10/2009 10:00

hi babytwo - our stories are almost identical! although my gap will be 16 months. and it sounds like we have very similar husbands too!! lol

the nausea is really hard to deal with - especially when you can't just sit down and take it easy when you want to.

i don't have a date for first scan but really looking forward to it.
i think my due date is 8th May.

plus had my son up for THREE hours in the night last night screaming - teething. at least you can see the tooth poking through this morning - hoping that last night will be the worst of it for tooth #2.

welcome other newbies - glad to see we've got such a big group going! :-)

Hi ladies,

Another May mummy to be here. Just to say theres a big thread on the antenatal boards with lots of us May mummies on it. (due May 2010 second thread)
Come over and join us

MoggMum · 14/10/2009 16:42

Hi Kazmog - I'm also 38 and this is my first so good to find someone in the same boat! I'm due 17th May and have my first midwife app on Friday. No date for 12 week scan yet but did have an early scan at 8 weeks following some bleeding - all ok though. Very nauseous still and have been since week 6 so hope mine eases off soon too.

pigleychez I've also visited the antenatal thread you mention and it's very good - lots more May mums on there!

It's good to talk to you all and it really does help when you can't yet tell friends and colleagues

Duritzfan · 14/10/2009 17:13
