Hiya,

Just thought it might be nice to start a thread for those of us due in May 2010. I know its only early days but I followed one of these whilst being pg with DS1 and it was invaluable.

Couldn't find one for my dates this time round (might be wrong?) so thought it would be nice to get together, share stories and follow the progress with some others in the same time-period.

I'm due 6/7 May I think. Didn't really plan to have such a short gap between DS1 and DC2 but also didn't do much to prevent it. (IYSWIM!)

Have started feeling nauseous already(!) which I can't believe as I didn't have it nearly as early as this last time round. No sickness last time and a very enjoyable pregnancy - so am hoping for the same again this time round. Slight disaster with giving birth 2 weeks early with no hospital notes or hospital bag, two hours from home and at a family funeral...(!) So am going to stay AT HOME near the end this time round. Really looking forward to giving birth again. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience last time and looking forward to hearing other peoples stories and sharing our pg's together!

millingtonsmummy · 05/05/2010 21:51

Congratulations Pinkstuff. I'm really pleased all went well and so cool that that's both your DC on their due dates.

How's eveyone else doing?

My due date today and no signs of my little wriggler making an appearance. Lots of BH but they're not building into anything. Exhausted today after walking miles & cleaning house. Also had a couple of rough nights sleep with strange anxious dreams where I've had the baby & not met him/her, sent home alone etc. V odd.

Come on baby!

morethemerrier · 05/05/2010 22:00

Happy Due Date millington!

I'm same with the strong BH's, had a good run of them every ten mins last night for about two hours then it stopped!

Was feeling that 'todays the day feeling' even though not due for another week!

Doesn't help when people keep saying, oooh you wont last another week! Talk about pressure!

I am going through horrible bouts of insomnia been awake from about 4am,then knackered and start panicking about being too tired to deal with labour!

Wishing you a good nights sleep, without any disturbing dreams ! x

hi guys thanks for your lovely comments.
feel so much better now she is here was worrying more than i thought when pregnant.
really feel for you who are waiting, i still have half a bottle of castor oil if anyone wants its. hope you wont be waiting to long. my bh's also got strong in last week especially after activity.

first1 · 06/05/2010 12:47

pinkstuff - I'm really considering the castor oil! Did you actually take it? If so at how many weeks?

pinkstuff · 06/05/2010 13:30

hi first one, i took it at 39+6 after my sweep, so don't know if it was one or the other or both together.
i took 2 tablespoons and went once to toiet.
contractions did start shortly after that being regular, but i was crampy after sweep. i will say though that during labour i was obsessed with pooing on the bed as thought i would keep going, but it was actually baby pressure and not poo!!!!. the midwife saii years ago it was given to overdue ladies, but iguess nothing will work if baby isnt ready. how many weeks are you?

first1 · 06/05/2010 13:47

Only 38+3 so wouldnt take it until I go overdue. Just read loads of stories of really bad diarrohea, which doesnt fill me with excitement! Perhaps DH will finally give in to sex doubt it!

Jayfer · 06/05/2010 21:26

Baby Harry William born this morning at 06.59 weighing 8lbs. Harry wasn't breathing when he was born and was whisked away (closely followed by his dad) to be resuscitated. I managed with just pethidine and gas and air but the pethidine made him very sleepy. Hence him not breathing when he came out. He started breathing fairly quickly but has remained sleepy all day. We were sent home at 3pm.
We are all pooped and off for bed.

morethemerrier · 06/05/2010 21:33

Congrats Jayfer!!!

DS2 was the same when he came out, was the longest time before he cried, put down to the pethidine as well, !

Glad you are home and enjoying your new arrival! Harry William, lovely name (i have a william so think you have excellent taste!)

maxybrown · 06/05/2010 22:15

morethemerrier · 06/05/2010 22:25

maxybrown · 06/05/2010 22:28

Will have to watch this now to wait and see what you have and if it comes out smelling "woody" DH tried some of our eprfume tonight

KateM77 · 07/05/2010 10:59

Congratulations Jayfer

pinkstuff · 07/05/2010 11:32

congrats Jayfer, hope you feeling ok.
my ds1 was also like that at birth, i was too spaced out to notice much, but terriying or the dads i think.
welcome to the world Harry William

first one. I know thats the only thing with the oil, you never know how it will affect you, anyway you might not go over.
my dh also refused sex in the last few weeks, i gave up asking in the end!!!!
some men just find it really hard to get their head round (pardon the pun)

burmesegrumbler · 07/05/2010 15:35

Congrats Jayfer!

Has anyone tried pethidine in one labour and tens/birth pool in another? I am hoping for a home birth, I'm 38 weeks today and wondering if the natural pain relief methods really do hold up against pethidine? My prescription is still with the GP as I have been avoiding collecting it thinking I will be able to manage - but with no previous experience, doubting my plan.....

PanicMode · 08/05/2010 09:46

Congratulations Jayfer and what a lovely name!!

millingtonsmummy · 08/05/2010 10:39

Congratulations Jayfer and welcome Harry William, gorgeous name!

Still nothing happening with me, curry night on Thursday, ate a whole pineapple yesterday and about to book cinema tickets for tonight. If making plans to go out doesn't bring on labour I don't know what will

No pethidine experience for me but I have had a water birth and found the freedom to move around in the warm bath really helpful. Even if you have the pethidine in the house ready you don't have to take it. Better to have the option available I'd say.

millingtonsmummy · 11/05/2010 08:47

We have another one! Harry Edwin born at 1.17am today after a 5 hr labour. He weighs 8lb exactly & is totally scrumptious

Thinking of all you ladies with new babies & those still to make their appearance. xx

burmesegrumbler · 11/05/2010 12:59

Congratulations Millington!!!

How soon after my 'clearout' and show can I expect to go into labour - had both yesterday (but show was very small - not sure it really was one...), really hoping DD1 is on her way in the next few days.....please enlighten me!

first1 · 11/05/2010 13:47

Congrats millington!! xxx

morethemerrier · 11/05/2010 19:55

Congrats Millington!

Welcome Harry!

Nothing to report here, had a run of strong BH again yesterday, but was absolutley wiped out so was thankful it did not turn into anything more!

Energy back today, cleaned/hoovered the car, re-orginised garage, pile of ironing done, house cleaned, all while entertaining DS2!

Anyone else had any more signs?

Good luck May mummies, bring it on!

(39+4 DC3)

PanicMode · 11/05/2010 21:32

Congratulations Millington and what a great name choice - Rory was almost Harry!!

Best of luck to those still waiting to meet their little ones- enjoy the calm before the storm

burmesegrumbler · 14/05/2010 08:26
