Morning All

For those of us who graduated from the November ttc bus, or any other ladies who are expecting in November, I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can moan and groan to our hearts content!!

Hop on and chat away - if you're like us, then nobody in RL will be told for a while so I need someone to talk things through with!!

Anyone else want to join?

Hello. Hope I'm not tempting fate by joining in. Did test this morning - 5 days before af due - and got a very dark pink BFP. Is very early days so am hoping it sticks. This will be baby #3. Have two ds 4yrs and almost 7yrs. Guess edd would be Nov 16 but ds1 was week early and ds2 two weeks early so who knows! Funny since getting result am developing symptoms - nausea etc. The power of the mind??

scarlotti · 06/03/2009 18:22

hobnob meant to say, you're in same boat as me - 2 m/cs, 1 at 5wks and 1 at 10wks. I've got an early scan this time around which will be around the 7.5/8 week mark - understand your worry completely.

helips lol at the chocolate orange! I had one in the fridge and the family ate it!! Have been munching my way through the chocolate mints we have left over from xmas since though

roomac welcome aboard! I've had nausea from the first test too and I'm on #3 - am starting to wonder if it comes on earlier with each baby? Or maybe I'm just less tolerant to symptoms as I get older

Julietbat - Congrats and enjoy your weekend

helips & Scarlotti - I'm the complete opposite on the chocolate craving The thought of it makes me feel rather queasy!

Fruitpastels · 06/03/2009 19:53

roomac - welcome!

hobnob57 · 06/03/2009 22:41

Hmmmm. Just had half of a bar of green & blacks if that makes anyone feel better.

I'm terrified of morning sickness, having suffered 24hour severe nausea from 6 until 18weeks with DD, evening vomiting and not being able to manage dinner for most of that time. What a way to lost weight

I'm desperate to prevent it from getting too bad this time by eating (last time I did my usual 'I feel sick' thing and tried to sleep it off. I just got hungrier and sicker!), so will very soon be begging you guys for your ideas on what to eat. Anything vaguely healthy would be good. Last time dried apricots were my staple pick-me-up, but they made my teeth really sensitive!

WizzyWoo · 07/03/2009 11:41

Morning all ((waves to the newcomers))

I've also been eating like a pig the last few days but craving fruit too, which I rarely eat even though I love veg. I was nauseous earlier in the week but when it disappeared I started to worry. It came back with a vengeance this morning, when I was sick afer DH burnt DD's toast but guess I shouldn't complain.

Some things that used to help me when I was really struggling with all day vomiting was ice cold water (and I mean so cold, it's almost painful), ice cold skimmed milk, vanilla ice cream and jacket potatoes with just some salted butter mashed in (not all at the same time, I hasten to add! ). Ginger, dry crackers or biscuits before you get up never helped for me. I tried "Seabands" which seemed to work slightly for about a week but I think that was either coincidence or mind over matter...

Is anyone else suffering from lower back pain? I feel like my lumbar region is coming apart, if that makes sense. I have a vague memory of possibly feeling like this at the very beginning of first pgcy but could be wrong. DD is teething yet again at the moment and is so clingy, wanting to be picked up all the time. My back's killing me, so I'm typing while chilling out on the bed while she's out with DH at Dad's Group. They've got little animals, insects, giant snails etc coming today... she's very much a subscriber to the tough love school of thought (or should that be rough love?) so just hope she doesn't kill anything!

WizzyWoo · 07/03/2009 11:42

PS Was watching Saturday Kitchen this morning. Is it wrong that I wanted to throw my packet of folic acid at Madhur Jafrey?? I found her sooo irritating! Think I must have a rush of hormones this morning.... ((slopes off to a happy place))

Thandeka · 07/03/2009 11:54

Hello
Can I join? Am only 14DPO but testing positive since 10DPO so very very early days but have had nausea and exhaustion all week.

According to FF am due 14th Nov. Worst possible timing since DH has second set of qualifying exams in early nov!

Have had a long cycle this month so "technically" will be 6 weeks on thursday but thats crap because I didnt ovulate until day 24 of my cycle so really will only be 2ish weeks by thurs- I hate how they date based on your period!

Good luck everyone else!
xxx

helips · 07/03/2009 13:03

Afternnon all and welcome Roomak and Thandeka!

Still no nausea here but have been eating like a pig! My tummy is poking out big time and I feel a bit upset as I shouldn't be showing yet, it's all just food! I'm just waiting for annoying comments from my in-laws about my tummy getting bigger. When I was about 8 weeks pregnant with ds I remember my mil commenting on how I had a little bump and I just snarled back 'it's not a bump yet, I'm obviously just fat!' mmm, think I may be getting a bit hormonal and tetchy!

My tiredness seems to have gone though, hope thats not a bad sign. I keep worrying because I don't really feel pregnant and just want to get to 12 weeks and the scan so I know everything will be alright.

ursigurke · 07/03/2009 13:14

helips - I have the same problem, I don't have real pregnancy symptoms. I am sometimes tired and feel a bit sick several times a day but just for like 30 seconds, could be the wish of having pregnancy symptoms too.
Keep telling myself that my body was always meant to be pregnant so that's why there are no real reaction against it
I've also read that some women do not have any problems at all.
But I really would like to have a scan earlier than the 12th week. After all, it is supposed to be the most important period so they should not just check at the end.

Fruitpastels · 07/03/2009 15:58

Welcome Roomak and Thandeka

The tiredness has hit me today. I feel utterly exhausted. Ds and I have been out for a few hours, and we've come home and ds is full of beans! Where do they get their energy from?! I'm sure my ds would go on until the late hours of the night if I let him. I've stuck LazyTown on and managed to shut my eyes for 1 episode. Now it's the endurance a few hours until bedtime.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

scarlotti · 07/03/2009 16:56

Welcome Thadeka

Am tired today, ds was up last night and because he had an unsettled night woke early this morning. DH had been on a work night out and got home at 5am so naturally I woke this morning feeling a little tired and irritated
Think I have made my feelings known and managed to get DH out of bed by midday to have a nap. Thought I showed restraint waiting that long personally, he's lucky I didn't send ds up there at 9am!

Nausea hasn't arrived today thankfully as yesterday was awful, morning until night.
wizzywoo will keep your list in mind - I tend to find carbs helps so the jacket potato would work. Lol at your DD and the snails etc! Have not heard of a Dad's group before - where do you find those?
((suddenly thinks there may be a glimmer of an afternoon with the house to herself...!!))

Fruitpasels am with you on the sleeping through the tv thing - one of the first things i try on an early morning wake up!
Only about 2more hours to go until sleep time for the little ones - hoorah!!!

evening everyone....

i started my 'keep active and fit this pregnancy' regime this morning with a nice trip to the local swimming pool with my eldest.....twenty lengths [nothing too ambitious] have felt like i have been run over with tank all afternoon....ha. having no nausea at all so far which is welcome as with my DC2 i was sick all day everyday up until the evening he was born....hopefully that wont happen this time...

am dreading cravings this time tho as i have developed intolerances to sugar [can't eat any sugar other than things sweetened with honey] and white flour....i am pescatarian too so my food choices are pretty limited already.....last time i craved liver like a b#tch....hopefully it'll be something i can eat this time ha...

any cravings yet girls?

Fruitpastels · 07/03/2009 18:01

Leannabanana - you done well with your swim!

I've not really had any cravings, but have noticed a real adversion to chocolate! Can't stand the thought of it, I hope it doesn't last too long!! I'm enjoying eating more fruit and had cravings for apples when pg with my ds. I'm trying to eat often to keep the nausea at bay. Felt I let it slip a bit today and the nausea set in. DH is away until tomorrow. I'm hoping he'll pamper me when he gets home

AileenF1 · 07/03/2009 19:24

Hello,

I only found out yesterday that I was pregnant, I'm a bit confused about my dates but I think I'm about 2 weeks gone and the digital test said 2-3 weeks. my last period was on 1st and I'm sure I conceived on 21st. I have worked out that due some time in November, I think later in the month.

This will be our first baby, We got married 3 years ago and came off he pill shortly after, either way we decided not to stress about having kids and just let nature take it's course. Now it's here we're amazed, feeling very excited and overwhelmed. I want to burst and tell everyone. DH is over the moon. Haven't told my mum yet, not sure if i want to.

Congrats to everyone else.

hobnob57 · 07/03/2009 21:42

Just updated the list. I Am Not Obsessed.
In fact, I am quite queasy tonight. Got my hobnobs and decaf tea... hoping that staves it off. Whoever mentioned seabands, I found them useless 1st time around but 2nd time around when things were less severe they definitely helped to take the edge off things. Worth a try for any newcomers to ms.

hobnob57 · 07/03/2009 22:44

heartburn already? Can that be right?

ursigurke · 07/03/2009 23:23

Hi hobnob57 - I had heartburn too. Milk or nuts and almonds (you need to chew them for a while) should help. I've only tried nuts which in my case made things worse. I'm actually now getting heartburn if I eat a few nuts as a snack.
I try to avoid large meals or eating too late. So far that works quite well.

yumsta · 08/03/2009 07:55

Hello all!
Just found out I'm pregnant with No.4
Very happy!!! More excited than I was with the previous 3 discoveries!!!
So far doc thinks i am due in November, but going for a scan on Monday as I have started discharging in a darker shade of red/brown (do excuse the full disclosure - but after 3 kids u really have no shame left)
Doc seems to think that it's not "fresh blood" but has ordered me to bed for weekend...not so easy with 3 boys running around...
anyone experienced anything like this?
am rather worried...
THANKS

mosschops30 · 08/03/2009 11:17

Hi everyone, congrats and count me in. I just found out Im pg with no.3. I was originally on the trying for august/sept babies thread but got so obsessed that I decided to have a break.
Worked for me
Think Im due on about 11th November

Stokey · 08/03/2009 15:23

Hello Yumsta, mosschops and other newbies

I haven't had nausea or cravings yet... but am sure my boobs are bigger.

Got to be a bridesmaid on Friday and dress now straining round the chest... Jodie Marsh look not great for walking down the aisle

scarlotti · 08/03/2009 15:29

welcome yumsta and mosschops30 yumsta - am sure everything is ok so try not to worry.

Seem to be tired all weekend this week! Ah well, shame there's dc's to look after

mosschops30 · 08/03/2009 19:16

Thanks for your welcome, am still a bit shocked and forget for a minute and then think 'shit Im pregnant'
I know what you mean about the breasts, mine have a life of their own at the moment and I suspect its only going to get worse.

Have decided I am going to have glamorous pregnancy this time, after wearing nothing but jogging bottoms and jumpers with ds. Cant wait to start shopping for summer stuff

PootleTheFlump · 08/03/2009 20:06

Hi guys,

Have joined the November '09 thread (here) in the ante-natal section & then seen this one - do you think we could combine them and all wait for the Autumn together?

I have no idea if that's possible technologically. If not, can I join here too?

scarlotti · 08/03/2009 21:24

Evening ladies

Welome pootle - I'll pop over to the other thread tomorrow too and say hi!

Just a quick pop in, have had the most awful headache all day so am going to bed now and hopefully it will disappear by the morning.
