Morning All

For those of us who graduated from the November ttc bus, or any other ladies who are expecting in November, I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can moan and groan to our hearts content!!

Hop on and chat away - if you're like us, then nobody in RL will be told for a while so I need someone to talk things through with!!

Anyone else want to join?

I went to see the dr on monday and she has changed my blood pressure pill to one's that "may make cause drowsiness" like I need anything else to make me feel tired.

I've just added myself to the list and now I'm off to bed DS was up at 6.30 again this morning and is still not having a nap eventhough he's a whinger.

Ok I am back again after a short break - I had a doctors appt yesterday which freaked me out. My doctor did a preg test and said it was negative!

She sent me to have a blood test and thankfully she called me back today and let me know that I was still indeed pregnant. Damn those cheap bulk purchased health service preg tests!!

Now by her calculations I am due on 29th October but I am sure this baby will not be here until Nov. My babies are never on time!

Dh has decided that this time we won't find out the babies sex so we can have a surprise. I am still not convinced as I found out with both other DC so I could be pepared. I guess ultimately it doesn't matter as long as baby is healthy. But I am the kind of person who snoops every Xmas to find out what my presents are... The suspense is gonna kill me!!

Dh has also been suggesting all kinds of dubious names... If it is a boy - Alfie, Rocky, Spike or Steven Gerrard. His favourite girl name would mean she'll have the same first and last name as Harry Potters mother.

esselle - a surprise is nice at the end as it gives you something to look forward to when huge, swollen and feeling tired! Other than the baby themselves obviously

He might change his mind nearer the 20 week scan though.

How's everyone else doing today?
Have my doc appt at 5pm and going to ask for an early scan so fingers crossed he says yes. Think if it's a no then we'll look into the cost of a private one.
First m/c was at 5 weeks which is tomorrow so almost past that milestone, but second was at 10 weeks hence why I can't wait until the 12 week scan and keep my sanity!
Presume it would be a few weeks before they'd scan me anyway so that there would be something to see.
Fingers crossed

Went to see the doc this morning. He confirmed my date is correct, unless the scan says otherwise. Blood pressure is good, also got my medical exemption form to fill out and send off.

For those that aren't aware, there is a health in pregnancy grant link here which we can apply for after 25 weeks.

Feeling well, nausea seems to strike me all of a sudden, but for short periods. How is everyone?

Busting for another wee!

amyboo · 05/03/2009 12:46

Had my GP appointment yesterday. She did a bloodtest and confirmed today that I'm definitely pregnant. HCG level was either 2004 or 10004 (didn't quite catch it on the phone). Anyway, she said it's all fine, and I'm 5 weeks pregnant, so I've added my due date. I also got a recommendation from her for a gynae, and got myself an appointment for the start of April.

Still not having any major symptoms. Weeing every 10 minutes seems to have stopped the last few days. No boob pain, cramps or anything. Felt a little quesy this morning, but nothing else. I keep thinking I might be imagining that I'm pregnant! I guess I won't be complaining about no symptoms before long though....

I've updated the list to include my date.

Clearly should have been "queasy" not "quesy"!

scarlotti · 05/03/2009 12:58

Fruit and amyboo - great that you've seen the doc. Seems to be a bit more real once some medical people get you onto their system.

Thanks for the link - will check it out.

Afternoon All

Put test in to docs yesterday and got the phone call to say I was pg. I thought I was going to have a 4-5 week wait before I could attend booking-in appointment but it turns out that there's a new thing starting in my area, a "pre-booking-in" clinic. All "newly pg ladies" are asked to attend to get all the info/forms etc, so it'll mean MW has to spend less time in the appointment doing all the paperwork. Can't wait!

DH and I keep having random moments where we might be talking about work or something totally unrelated and suddenly one of us will come out with a baby name. DH's latest offering was "Poppy", which I vetoed due to my sister's dog having same name, causing a minor sulk on his part. I'm really trying not to get too carried away with all the baby stuff just yet, until I've had the 12 week scan just in case, but it's sooo hard! So far I've managed to stop myself looking at pram prices etc... Really wish I hadn't gone on a space saving frenzy last year and got rid of all DD's stuff.

Felt a bit queasy last few days but nothing at all today. Hate the queasiness but when it's not there, I worry. Anyone else as paranoid as me?

Just to add I am feeling utterly exhausted, my DS, nearly 13mths has had a nasty chest infection and upset tummy since Sunday and I have been holding him and comforting him for what feels like an eternity. I had a nap today while he napped but now I feel worse and I have had to have a cup of 'real' coffee or else I'm afraid I won't last the day. I can't wait until the tiredness bit ends. With my first pregnancy I clearly remember the extreme tiredness for the first trimester and remember wondering how I would cope with a toddler too- well now I know! Sorry for the moan ladies

Supercherry · 05/03/2009 14:58

Oh and also, I've just bought a bottle of bio-oil in preparation- used it with the first pregnancy and got no stretchmarks except for one tiny one next to my belly button. It's one of my pregnancy must haves.

Fruitpastels · 05/03/2009 15:20

Congrats Supercherry

I agree with you on the Bio-oil. I didn't have any stretch marks with ds, not sure if it was the oil, or thanks to my genes! I've managed to get lot's of early nights as ds goes down at 7.30pm and wakes at 7am. I do feel tired about this time of day though, I so wish my ds still napped!

HomeintheSun · 05/03/2009 15:40

Hi ladies, I've been having a few worries, the baby is due on the 4th November and we're due to move back to the uk in December so our house will be packed up and shipped in early november so been thinking what am I going to put the baby in to sleep and have found on ebay a pop up cot so I've bought one after my mum convinced me that having it in the house wouldn't make anything happen. (hope she's right) I hope everyone is doing well, I've had a nap this afternoon but now looks like our DS is ill, bless him.

amyboo · 05/03/2009 15:44

OOh - will follow up on the recommendations for bio-oil. I've got some Palmers at the moment, as I suffer from dry skin anyway. I'm off to the UK in 2 weeks, so will pop to Boots and try the bio-oil...

While I'm thinking about it, are there any other products I should be on the look out for?

BlackLetterDay · 05/03/2009 15:50

So sorry about your news vtiredmummy

Sympathy for all those feeling tired and sick [nods off]

Not much news here gonna wait to go to the Dr's I think, feels like tempting fate for some bizarre reason, probably should though as for some reason they insist on a pg test which they have to send off to the hospital. You have to wonder if they had a glut of women turning up saying they were pregnant for the fun of it

Supercherry · 05/03/2009 16:43

Vtiredmummy so sorry about your news

Ooh Fruitpastels, you've just made my mouth water thinking of fruit pastels . 7-7.30 sounds heavenly.

Homeinthesun- your mum is right! What's wrong with your DS, there's lots going round at the moment- hope he gets well soon.

Amyboo you can't go wrong with the bio-oil. Was just trying to think of other really useful things and can only think of a belly band at the moment. It's a stretchy tube thing which is really useful with lots of your normal clothes when you start to show. Eg. I could wear my normal jeans unbuttoned with the band over the top.
