Morning All

For those of us who graduated from the November ttc bus, or any other ladies who are expecting in November, I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can moan and groan to our hearts content!!

Hop on and chat away - if you're like us, then nobody in RL will be told for a while so I need someone to talk things through with!!

Anyone else want to join?

Just bought a belly band as well. I'm starting to grow out of my jeans so i'll be needing it soon enough.

helips · 05/03/2009 18:20

Stretch mark cream didn't work for me first time round, my tummy is riddled with them! Annoyingly I didn't have any until about 37 weeks and I felt all smug thinking I'd got away with it, but low and behold they appeared with a vengence! Will still use some though to try and prevent getting anymore!

I know what you mean about the tiredness. Luckily ds naps for 2 hours in the afternoon so I can get my head down then but I still feel tired now!

I'm thinking about paying to have an early scan as I don't think I can wait until 12 weeks. Anyone know how I go about this?

scarlotti · 05/03/2009 18:35

Evening ladies!
Been to the docs today and now have to call mw to book in. Doc has offered an early scan (saved me havng to beg!) so form goes off to the hospital and I'll get one at around the 8 week mark. Am so pleased he offered, after the last 2 m/c there's no way I could hold out until 12 weeks.

Tiredness hasn't hit me yet but been nauseous every afternoon for a week already and I'm only 5 weeks

Stretch marks - it's genetic apparently. I've been lucky and not had any so am hoping that the genetic thing is true!!

Scarlotti - Glad to hear you're having an early scan

Helips - I would imagine there are ultrasound places you can visit privately.

scarlotti · 05/03/2009 21:46

Thanks fruitpastels

Thanks Fruitpastels, I shall look into it!

How is everyone this morning? I'm so glad it's friday, really looking forward to the weekend and having dh around to help look after ds while I rest!

amyboo · 06/03/2009 07:52

Feeling very queasy this morning. Hope this isn't the start of things to come... Hauling myself out of bed this morning was quite a struggle, as was my Thursday night swim.

Can someone post a link for one of these band things, so I know what I'm looking for when I go to Boots/Tesco?

HomeintheSun · 06/03/2009 07:56

I got a call yesterday from the midwife and he's coming round to see me on the 24th so I'll be about 8 weeks by then, I've got to see the dr again next week to have my blood pressure checked. Ds is better I think he was just over tired and a little under the weather but he's been up since 6.30 watching his cars dvd I think we're on the third time already.
I got some stretch mark lotion from Avon when I was pregnant with ds and it was like deep heat I felt like I was on fire. I used coco butter oil stuff it was good but I did get stretch marks at about 32 weeks round my belly button.

Fruitpastels · 06/03/2009 08:30

amyboo - I got my band from this company www.mamafeelsgood.com

amyboo · 06/03/2009 09:13

Thanks for the link fruitpastels - I assume I order for the size I am now?

eeyore2 · 06/03/2009 09:36

Hello everyone, can I join you?
I got a BFP on Wednesday and am now DPO 20. It is my first pregnancy, EDD 11th November. I don't have any symptoms at all yet apart from being a bit tired but have had three positive tests so seem to be officially pregnant! I am not going to get too excited though until after I get a bit further on as it seems like there is still such a high chance of things not going according to plan. Good luck to everyone! and I am so sorry to hear your news vtiredmummy.

Supercherry · 06/03/2009 11:15

Congratulations Eeyore!

Leannabanana · 06/03/2009 11:20

Helips - i know what you mean about stretch marks - i got a few with my first preg but not that many(lovely elastic 21yr old skin....)but my 2nd preg i put on four stone and got them over stomach and backs of thighs.....sooo jealous of people who don't suffer with them - lucky things. my sister for example didn't get a single one on either of her pregs so i don't think it can be genetic....am using cocoa butter and orange oil massage bar from LUSH this time....its smells like terrys chocolate orange....sooo delicious.Hopefully i won't get any more.

scarlotti · 06/03/2009 11:39

congratulations eeyore2!!

Nausea started first thing this morning, normally it waits until after lunch, sigh!
Looking forward to the weekend and just relaxing a bit - although how much of that I'll get to do with 2dc's I don't know!
DH out tonight though so peaceful evening with the remote for me!!

barnowl · 06/03/2009 12:15

Hi all, I'm hopping over from November TTC bus. with DC 4 on the way. The nausea all week has been worth it! My due date is 6th Nov, so it could share a b'day with DH if it arrives on the 7th. Will shortly have to borrow back all the baby stuff I passed on to my friend last year!

helips · 06/03/2009 12:43

Welcome and congrats eeyore2 and barnowl!

Leannabanana that massage bar sounds scrummy but I'd be tempted to eat it, I love terry's chocolate orange! Last time I used a really expensive oil from Elemis, it smelt lovely but I still got stretch marks. I think it's hereditary as my mum got loads when she had me and my brother. Also, I only put on 2 and a half stone but it was all on my tummy area so was huge. Dread to think how big it will be this time round!

amyboo · 06/03/2009 14:27

Congratulations eeyore and barnowl!

Supercherry · 06/03/2009 16:02

To avoid stretch marks in my last pregnancy I also ate things which were supposed to be good for the skin such as almonds, olives and drank loads of water. However, it could've just been a fluke but my mum does have stretch marks so might not just be hereditary. Just a thought for those of you obsessed with preventing stretch marks like me.

Fruitpastels · 06/03/2009 16:04

Congrats eeyore2 and barnowl

amyboo - you order the band in your usual size.

Scarlotti - hope the nausea eased off today for you. I seem to be getting really tired the last 48 hrs, I'm so glad it's the weekend.

Supercherry · 06/03/2009 16:05

Ooops, sorry, forgot to say Congratulations Barnowl!

Anyone else been eating like a pig- I swear I have not stopped eating all day. I did this last time too. It's not all good things either- I have eaten pizza, crisps, apples, oranges, kiwi, jam on toast plus all my DSs leftovers. Somebody stop me!

eeyore2 · 06/03/2009 16:11

Thanks for all the congratulations!
I am definitely not eating like a pig - I am actually a bit off my food, although not actually feeling nautious. But I think I also just have a cold coming so that might be why. Have a lovely weekend everyone - we are all the designated drivers now!

hobnob57 · 06/03/2009 16:17

Hello ladies, may I join you? I'm 4+3 so should be due on 9th Nov. I have one DD already of 2.3 who was 14 days over due and had to be induced, so if this one sticks, I may well be heading for a baby on my birthday. I've had a mc at 4+3 and a mmc at 9 weeks, so trying not to get too excited. And also trying not to spend too much time on MN, so apologies if I disappear every now and again. I really appreciated the support of the July antenatal thread, but it became a bit of an obsession

julietbat · 06/03/2009 16:33

happy friday everyone! sorry haven't been online for a couple of days - seem to have missed LOADS of chat!

Congrats to all the newcomers. Really really sorry to hear your news vtiredmummy.

We've had quite a big day today - my dp and i have been in court for her hearing to adopt our dd (even though it's my dp's egg that was used, because i carried her i am automatically the birth mother which meant my dp has had to adopt her own genetic child!!). It was actually a really nice occasion and although my dp has obviously felt like dd's mum since her birth, now she is in law too, which obviously is important. Tomorrow we've got a big family get-together to celebrate the adoption, including our donor and his family (he has primary age dcs who are well aware of the situation and love having our dd as a 'cousin') and then on Sunday it's dd's 1st birthday. So, it's all go here!!

Sorry to hear all those of you suffering from nausea - I had it horribly with dd but, as yet, with this one I haven't felt anything apart from a distinctly increased appetite. I'm just very, very tired, weeing all the time and have had headaches every day now for about a week. Looking forward to next week's scan which will hopefully confirm that i'm not just a hypercondriac(sp?)

I need to add my edd but not sure how to work it out (sorry, complete idiot warning!). With ivf we were obviously given a date immediately - do i work it out from my iui date or from my last period?

scarlotti · 06/03/2009 18:04

julietbat what a wonderful day you've had and tomorrow sounds like it will be just as good. Strange legal system we have eh?!!
No idea how you work out your edd with iui sorry, but am sure someone here will be able to help.

hobnob - congratulations and welcome!!

I seem to be eating to get rid of the nausea - not always healthy for me either, fish and chips tonight

helips · 06/03/2009 18:12

Welcome hobnob57, you have the same due date as me! Hope everything works out for you this time, it's hard not to get excited isn't it? I can't wait till the 12 weeks is up so I can stop worrying (although I'm sure I'll find something else to worry about!)

Julietbat, how ridiculous that your dp has to adopt her own dd, seems so unfair when a dad doesn't have to do that. Enjoy your family get together and dd's birthday.

I've been eating more junk food since I've found out I'm pregnant, today I went out and bought a terrys chocolate orange (which I blame you for leannabanana!) and proceeded to hide in the kitchen and eat it away from ds prying eyes! I didn't give him any, bad mummy!!!
