Morning All

For those of us who graduated from the November ttc bus, or any other ladies who are expecting in November, I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can moan and groan to our hearts content!!

Hop on and chat away - if you're like us, then nobody in RL will be told for a while so I need someone to talk things through with!!

Anyone else want to join?

amyboo · 03/03/2009 10:17

I just got my bfp! I think I'm about 5 weeks, so due mid November. Haven't stopped shaking yet! It was a very dark, quick result - appeared within about 30 seconds!

When does the shaking with fear/excitement stop? It's making it hard to work right now...

The only symptoms I've had so far are spotting and cramping in the last week of my cycle, a strange rash on my torso, and spots (which I don't normally get).

Fruitpastels · 03/03/2009 11:24

Congrats to the newcomers and welcome

amyboo - is this your first child? When I was pregnant with my ds, all I could think about was the pregnancy and the fear and excitment in the early weeks. It will all sink in eventually

Koumak · 03/03/2009 11:55

Congratulations amyboo and all other new passengers. I recognise your name from the November bus. Great you found us.
I am having gp appointment next Monday I spoke to the receptionist about midwife's appointment but can?t get one till I see the doctor. I am bit worried about the scan as I am going to be 10-12 weeks at Easter holiday and out of the country for 2 weeks so might miss the most important dates for the scan. What are the chances I will get scan during the 10th week before I go? I suppose they will tell me it?s too early?

amyboo · 03/03/2009 12:08

Yep, this will be my first. Me and DH are incredibly excited, but both a little scared too, as we live in Brussels, and we'll be the first among our friends to have children. I don't think it's really sunk in yet, but I'm going to see my gp tomorrow to get blood tests done etc, so I'm hoping it might seem real then!

helips · 03/03/2009 13:08

Hello everyone, can I join in too?

Found out I was pregnant yesterday afternoon, am so excited!! I already have a ds who is 18 months old and can't wait to give him a brother or sister.

Only symptoms so far are weeing a lot and cramps. I remember first time round being terrified that the cramps meant I was going to lose the baby but this time around I feel more relaxed. Just want to tell the world I'm pregnant but am going to wait till I've seen the doctor and then tell close family and my best friend.

Due date is 9th November, my wedding anniversary! Think that makes me 4 weeks...does that sound right?

WizzyWoo · 03/03/2009 13:16

Hi All

I've just had a BFP this morning and like Amyboo I really can't concentrate at work!

According to the due date calculator, I'm due on 7th November and this will be DC#2. DH and I are over the moon, especially as DD is 17 months and adores babies and other children, so I'm glad she'll have a little playmate.

I'm feeling nauseous on and off today. I just hope this pgcy is different from DD, as I had hyperemesis and practically every problem in the book. Also having a few pulling/crampy feelings but as I have endometriosis, it feels very strange not to be in agony at this time of the month...

Can't wait to get to magical 12 wk mark so we can start telling people, although judging by how quickly my bump grew last time and how tight my trousers feel today without eating all the pies, I'm not sure if I'll be able to hide it for so long!

Fruitpastels · 03/03/2009 13:48

WizzyWoo & helips - Congrats to you both

helips- I'm far more relaxed this time around as well. I remember driving my friend around the bend (she was a mum of 2), asking her about my symptoms and analysing every twinge!

I've found I get nauseous when I've not eating for a couple of hours, once I've snacked I feel fine. WizzyWoo the hyperemesis sounds terrible. I hope this pregancy is very different for you.

amyboo I'm sure you'll be making lots of new Mum friends when the baby arrives

Koumak · 03/03/2009 14:39

Welcome girls and same EDD too!
I am not feeling pregnant at all today but the size of my stomach suggests otherwise!
I am at work and is it slooooooooow

scarlotti · 03/03/2009 14:47

Welcome to the new ladies and big congratulations to you all!

Fruitpastels - get the same sort of nausea too, am fine if I eat every few hours but seems to come more in the afternoon. I think I'd better go get a flapjack from the canteen!!

Ladies: let's start a list of roughly when we're due. I'll add in anyone I can work out just to start us off but if everyone adds/amends themselves then we'll be able to keep track of us all.

helips - we've done the same. Told close family and I'm out to dinner with my best mate later so will tell her then.

I flit between excitement and disbelief that all will go well. Funny how feeling sick can be reassuring - although I'm sure that after a week or two of it I'll have had enough and will want another symptom to reassure me instead!!

Amyboo - have heard good things about the pre-natal care in Belgium.

scarlotti - medical care in Belgium is generally excellent, so I'm hoping it'll be the same for pre-natal care. I'm off to see my GP tomorrow, so hopefully she'll guide me through it all. I know I have to choose a gynae, and that my choice of gynae depends on which hospital I can deliver in.

I've been feeling a little nauseous on and off today, but I'm not sure if that's just the excitement!

I have updated the list.

I am "foreigner" here and I find it unbelievable that women don?t have gynae as a matter of fact from where I come from you have one once you are a women or starting pill etc. so you can be properly checked routinely and OFTEN and the care requires more than blood pressure so no wonder NHS doesn?t provide that. I usually schedule visit with gynae and dentist for that matter when visiting my family back home so at least I feel I am not neglecting my body all together.

charliegal · 03/03/2009 17:08

Will be a 3 year gap for us too. Mangolassi (love your name)- I have the same worry with ds. He really doesnt like babies at all either. Have felt a bit sad thinking about how this will affect him.

Trying to eat little and often. Am finding the nausea quite awful, especially thinking how long it goes on for. Wondering how I can manage ds and also work when feeling so green.

vtiredmummy · 03/03/2009 17:29

Hi all, after much random blonde navigating I found the thread! I've got a ds, 2.4 so there'll be three years excatly give or take, all being well. Asked ds if he'd like a baby sister or brother and after much consideration he said 'No. I'd like a crumpet instead.'

Right, either I'm being really thick or my pregnancy brain has already gone to mush but cannot find the key that has the number sign! Am trying to add myself onto the list and am using an apple mac, can anyone advise?

Anyway, I am as follows:

Helips: baby number 2 edd: 9th Nov

I haven't had any nausea yet and didn't get any when pregnant with ds so hopefully won't get it again! I wonder if it is a gender thing or whether some women are just lucky and don't suffer with it. Anyone get morning sickness with one pregnancy but not another?

scarlotti · 03/03/2009 18:49

Ok, I've fixed your # sign helips!
I didn't get any nausea with dd but that was 14 yrs ago, got it with ds 3 years ago but much later. This time it's instant and time will tell what gender this one is!
Maybe it's an age of mummy thing!!

Am I the only one on baby#3?! Does that indicate everyone else is just more sane than me?!!

Off out to dinner in a bit and am going to tell my friend - exciting as she'll be excited for us. She'll be the only RL friend then until we've had some scans and it's all more certain it will stick. All our family are far away so nice to have someone to tell in person

charliegirl - In 9 months time your ds would have changed a great deal (as you know they change by the day). He may just surprise you how well he accepts a new sibling

Scarlotti - You're not mad! I might not stop at 2 children. It depends if I have a girl this time around - have one of each then, which would be nice. Hope you had a nice dinner.

beckynbump · 03/03/2009 21:01

Oh I am so envious julietbat that you are having a scan on the 12th. Mine won't be until 13/14th April so I have ages. Should have fibbed about far gone I thought I was and sneaked in early. At least my husband will be able to come as he missed all DD ones due to working away. It will be while he is back home on hol. Think I am due on 25th October but hope you will still have me in this group.

beckynbump · 03/03/2009 21:09

Congratulations to everyone. Glad to hear I am not the only one flipping from being v excited to being v terrified !

Loved your post, vtiredmummy, your DS sounds like a hoot, lol!

Helips my sister has 4 DC and the 1st was a boy. She had hyperemesis with him but the other 3 were girls and she only had mild nausea with them, so maybe there's something in the gender thing...

Scarlotti I hope you enjoyed telling your friend. I couldn't resist telling a couple of friends in RL today, more so that I don't cave and tell my family. They live in IOM and I'm in Morpeth, so only see them all once/twice each year. Don't want to tell them yet though, because I know they'll be on the phone every night worrying about me in the first trimester.

Noticed when getting changed from work tonight that I appear to be getting a slight bump already. I'd noticed pants getting slightly tight last week but just presumed it was the usual bloating before AF... won't be able to keep this secret for long if my last pgcy bump is anything to go by!

Sorry about long post, I'm soooo excited! DH has made rhubarb crumble so off to scoff some of that. Goodnight all!

scarlotti · 03/03/2009 21:37

Evening ladies!
Back from dinner and it was lovely to tell my friend, she'd guessed anyway as I'd declined a glass of wine
I suspect I'll do most of my neurotic thoughts here on mn though so as not to bore her too much, plus you get a good perspective from others at the same stage, which is why this thread is so great.

wizzywoo - I did wonder if my trousers were getting a bit tight or whether I was imagining it. We're due the same time so will be interesting to monitor our waistlines!

vtiredmummy - I don't blame him, given the choice I'd pick a crumpet too!!

beckynbump - am sure we can let you off a few days earlier than 1st Nov!!

BlackLetterDay · 03/03/2009 23:33

Hi Scarlotti I'm on #3 too, beginning to think I am a bit mad. I had dd and ds in september/october 03/06, so suffered through those summers looking and feeling like a bouncy castle filled with water. If the pattern follows, I will have another 3 year age gap and this summer will be a scorcher . I did try for a spring baby but not to be, oh well if all continues well I will invest in copious fans and a paddling pool .

Dd didn't react well to having a sibling but she's fine now and hoping she won't mind another, don't think ds will be too bothered really, but I could be wrong.

Scarlotti, thanks for fixing my key issue! I don't think you are mad going for number 3, I can't imagine this being my last pregnancy and always imagined having 3 children, although my dh might take some persuading!

Interesting about the morning sickness theory's, I heard somewhere that you were more likely to have morning sickness if you were carrying a girl but by what some of you say it sounds like its the other way round!

I'm starting to get that bloated feeling too and my jeans are definately feeling tighter! Last time I put all my weight on my tummy, it was huge! I lost count of the number of random strangers asking me if I was having twins! Very annoying! It's amazing how some people feel its fine to comment on a pregnant womans size, I must think of some witty comebacks for this time round!

amyboo · 04/03/2009 08:10

Morning! Should I be worried that when I went for a wee this morning there was a bit of spotting when I wiped (sorry TMI!)? Paranoid that I might have got my hopes up....
