What first alerted you to the fact you were pregnant. Was it the missing period, or did something else trigger the "hmmmmm, what if" feeling???

The ability to nap on command. Sore and swelling breasts. Being one day late (was usually early, unfortunately).

couldthisbeit · 16/01/2011 16:57

Sense of smell like a bloodhound, and having to have Heinz tomato soup for dinner 4 nights in a row when I don't eat the stuff and haven't done since I was about 6!

MainlyMaynie · 16/01/2011 17:02

The day before my period was due, I couldn't finish a glass of wine (it wasn't my first glass though). Other than that, nothing but the missed period until about 5-6 weeks when my breasts got sore. I didn't have sickness at all and didn't get tired until about 8 weeks.

littlebylittle · 16/01/2011 17:05

Weird dreams- with both dc 2 and 3. Shortly followed by nausea-all before positive pg test, which itself was week before af due.

LaRagazzaInglese · 17/01/2011 00:14

Tiredness

painfullyhonest · 23/01/2011 17:21

more cramps than I would expect before AF, nipples a bit over-senstive and slightly sore this time (normally it's the whole boob that's tender, but I'll give it time...) and a bit more discharge than usual. And my morning cuppa made me feel nauseous!

I did have a weird dream last night about something growing inside me actually. Freaky. But it was something unpleasant, not a lovely baby!

Mampa1986 · 07/02/2011 11:36

Sore boobs! Oh my goodness...then it was drinking water and it tasting like pennies.

I hadnt even missed my period yet and thought I'd better do a test...low and behold!

bowlingball · 07/02/2011 18:37

My piles were unbearably itchy!

coraltoes · 07/02/2011 19:05

i felt my work clothes were tight in the evening...stomach was a bit bloated. Figure/stomach was fine in morning though, so convinced myself it was just time to hit the gym a bit more vigorously to fight the bloat. Oops.

lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 19:07

my first cold in eighteen months ticked me off as i never get ill.

no1childminder · 07/02/2011 20:09

didnt think i was AT ALL. My ovulation sticks arrived in the post, was about to use one but 'something' told me to take a test first. was sooo freaky. only when it turned positive in a blink of an eye i thought back to certain things which were signs. sore nipples, emotional, irritated by EVERYONE, back ache. i had just come off the pill and had my first period 47 days later so was just waiting for the next one. i wasnt regular so didnt realise i had missed my period.

Trinaluce · 07/02/2011 21:56

Sore boobs - just woke up one morning aching to end all aches. This was only a few days after ahem conception - took another two weeks to get a positive test! Second sign was a few days later - desperate hunger for packet after packet of parma ham. Totally forgot it was on the no-no list... Blush

littleone83 · 08/02/2011 20:33

such bad acne on my chin! apparently that's the part of your face that's connected to your ovaries. had an inkling but thought was due on, then was late so took the test. if you ask my husband my moods were erratic too, not that i agree with him...no weight gain, boobs are a bit bigger but not much. hoping will skip the morning sickness...not sure i can hide that from work!

Sore, swollen nipples, waking up with a headache almost every day since a week after conception, very mild cramping, and swinging from very alert and energetic to very tired from one day to the next. I'm about 5 weeks gone now.

Penelope1980 · 09/02/2011 06:05

sore stomach for about 2 weeks before my period was due - started off like indegestion, but by the end was like period pains only for a longer period of time

LearningFast · 10/02/2011 16:10

For two days on the trot, about a week before my period was due I felt properly nauseous and had a tingly sensation in my breasts at 11am on the dot. Only lasted for 10 minutes or so each time but it was quite a striking feeling and made me think "Mmmm... maybe?".

Then no other symptoms until my period was due, except for needing to wee more frequently, but I had discounted that for some reason - it was DH who suggested the test after I had visited the loo 3 times while we were in a car showroom. I bought a test from the Boots nearby and did it when we got home - came up with a big clear Yes straight away (so glad I bought a digital test - no uncertainty with faint lines!).

JJBSpots · 10/02/2011 17:13

Monster boobs for the first two. Gigantanorks. That was after I'd done the test though. Third time (only this morning!) I tested because I realised that the last time my boobs were this buoyant and large was when I was preggers. Bingo!

SuperheroYuki · 27/02/2011 13:01

Went mental! Cried for like 5 hours about my childhood dog...my DP thought I was getting seriously depressed, so glad I did a pregnancy test before therapy!! Three months now and my sanity (what there was of it) seems to have mostly been returned to me..

freeangel · 27/02/2011 15:28

I didnt have any symptons, i was about to dye my hair and thought maybe i will use the last test hidden in the drawer. I was due on that day, i was in such shock when i got two lines. But looking back i had sore boobs when i woke up that morning, had been hormonal, dreamt i was pregnant and couldnt get my words out for the week leading up to that day! Im only 4 weeks, but i cant stop burping! Blush

bossyboop · 27/02/2011 16:42

retching at the smell of the tumble dryer the day before af was due

Sibella1 · 27/02/2011 19:41

The main difference for me between normal AF symptoms were visible veins on my boobs. Last month I thought I might be because my boobs were quite sore but when I looked there weren't any veins so I knew it wasn't.

This time there were definitely veins. Also sore nipples, heaviness and stretching in stomach and nausea which comes and goes.

I'm also eating lots more but I think thats just cause now I can!

2cats2many · 27/02/2011 19:44

A missed period and positive pregnancy tests both times. The other symptoms didn't kick in until after about 6 weeks.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/02/2011 20:03

DD: gnawing hunger and sudden aversion to alcohol.

DC2: implantation bleed. I knew it wasn't my period.

bibbitybobbityhat · 27/02/2011 20:06

Sore boobs.
