I am back! And over the moon... baby is fiiiiine! The heartbeat is now 159bpm and its 1.6cm.. still so tiny, the lady at the clinic said not to worry myself silly.. and it might have been burst blood vessels or something.. confusing but she couldnt see any threats and was very happy.. also we got 2 more pictures which are at 8 weeks 1 day.. soooo much clearer than 7 weeks 4 days!! I am just willing Feb 10th to come... whilst breathing normally and relaxing!! Thanks for your support xx

aquababe · 14/01/2009 13:12

Hello Ashleigh and thats great news.

Diji · 14/01/2009 13:16

Wow ashleighbeee that is fantastic news.
Glad to hear that all is well

downbutnotout · 14/01/2009 13:21

Glad to hear you're still on board joyful - you will soon be at my stage (knicker checking for my show!)

Hang on in there cornflakegirl, ready2pop - the first forty 12 weeks are the worst but you will be holding your baby soon!

herby the doppler decision is a toughie - I opted not to, as like mumface the doctor took so long to find a heartbeat at my 15 week appointment that I thought trying to do it on my own would drive me mad, but I have a friend who had an amnio at 16 weeks and took great comfort by being able to use hers before and after.

Congrats cece - another hurdle over! And to you ashleigh!

Well, after very strong twinges on Monday everything seems to have settled down again. Maybe I shouldn't have joked about going overdue. The in-laws are coming next week to stay until the baby is born so they can look after dd while I'm in hospital. That's all the encouragement I need to get ds out as quickly as possible

minxofmancunia · 14/01/2009 13:26

Hi everyone, can I join, you all seem lovely, a coupls of other ladies on other threads have recommended you.

I had a mc in Sept and am now in v early stages of pg, already have dd (2.4) whi is fab! I thin I'm 5 weeks but not sure cos mc messed up my cycle, had 2 cycles of 28 days where we "tried" then in December stopped "trying" and had a mega long cycle but cos not using sticks don't know exactly when ovd but think it might be xmas day. bd was xams eve so must have been around then .

had a faint bfp last tue after bfns every 3 days from boxing day, line has been getting stronger and getting sore boobs and a bit nauseous but not much.

Sick with worry though and have had really bad periody type cramps in abdo and back for last 5 days, yesterday went to walk in EPU had bloods done, having them again tomorrow to see if everythings ok, no blood (mc at 5.5 weeks last time, had pains and bleeding), feel sick with worry!

Good lusk to everyone on here, it's a rollercoaster of happiness mixed with terror! x

I am 7 weeks and hoping I keep it this time. It is my 8th pregnancy. I have 3 children, so have had 4 mcs. 5.5wks, 4.5wks and 6.7wks - they were the easy ones. The mmc was the worst, last year. Scan at 12 weeks and no heartbeat, it had died at 9 weeks and I had to have an erpc. Bad times. Pregnant within 3 months and my DD is now 21 months.
Good luck all of you, fingers crossed for us all !!

FeminineWear · 14/01/2009 13:30

I also had an erpc after a bad scan - I know how you fee, we were devastated

ashleighbeee · 14/01/2009 13:38

Hey there Blogqueen! I am new here too! Wow 4 miscarriages.. I am so sorry to hear that I have only had 1 so can not understand how you feel, all i can say is that everyone here are so lovely and we're all here for the same reason.. My EDD is 25th August so not far before you.. lets hope its a happy August for us both.

Downbutnotout! You have the inlaws coming while you are in final stages of pregnancy.. good lord good luck to you! I dont know what your in laws are like but have not even told boyfriend's mum about pregnancy because of fears of interference! haha I do not feel for you.. keeping fingers crossed that you're not overdue!!!

minxofmancunia You are also in the right place! My miscarriage was at 7 + 4 last time so i am relieved to have gone past that hurdle at least.. had no baby only sac etc... I didnt really understand what was happening as EPU where i live was pants! you're lucky to have a walk in one! Will keep fingers crossed for your blood work!

I am hoping to book my next scan for next saturday (9+4) and then again 2 saturdays after (11+4) As you can see I am very paranoid... I'm sure we'll all get there though.

xx

minxofmancunia · 14/01/2009 13:43

Hi ashleigh, i just want to get through the next 2 weeks then at least I'll be past "the time", I'm sure I'll find something else to worry about and need a dating scan too just to see how far along I am. Oh Lord the worry never ends!

ashleighbeee · 14/01/2009 13:52

minxofmancunia tell me about it! I dont stop worrying... not helped by spots of brown and then 2 of red today! However I know we all need to relax as it doesnt help! (easier said than done for sure) 2 weeks can go so slow.. I have had both of my scans done privately as I still have such bad memories from EPU with miscarriage and it seemed so much nicer, but obviously all personal choice! I cant wait for 12 weeks to come round.. only 3 weeks 6 days (not that i am counting them down) So please all lets keep eachother sane!!! xx

minxofmancunia · 14/01/2009 13:57

yes think i'm going to book a private scan for 3 weeks time if these bloods turn out ok, having nuchals etc. done privately too.

My hosp is good and the staff are lovely but it's manchester so all the big teaching hospitals have to deal with all the problems that come with high levels of social deprivation and that's what tends to take up the staffs time.

also my maternity unit is a regional specilist unit so when i was pg with dd i was literally ignored at the ante-natal clinic as i was so "routine"!

blogqueen you've had a rough time, best of luck to you! x

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/01/2009 13:59

Hello all! Sorry I haven't posted in ages, I am an avid knicker checker, but less reliable thread poster

Hello to all the new faces out there.

I am now almost 26 weeks. DS1's birthday will be the milestone between 2nd and 3rd trimester. I think I have finally accepted that it is possible that dc3 is really going to happen.

downbutnotout any news? Very exciting.

I'm a bit worried that I've jinxed the whole thing by buying a birth-pool-in-a-box in preparation for my home birth. But the nesting instinct is taking over already.

SPD is still terrible, I've even bought myself some walking sticks but I'm not letting it get me down.

Is anyone else suffering from severe breathlessness? I had it last time, but I'm sure it was later than this. And I don't mean from over-activity, I mean when sitting still. It's probably just bad posture, but it's driving me crazy not being able to quite catch my breath.

herbaceous · 14/01/2009 14:07

Blog-queen - hope I can offer some encouraging words. I have had two MMCs, one at 13 weeks and one at 11, and agree that they are the most devastating things ever to have happened to me. However, they are not inevitable. Each pregnancy is unique. I spent the first 10 weeks of this one worrying myself sick, and being comforted by the ladies here, and I'm now 16 weeks. Each week is now going fast, rather than taking about a year, and although I'm still worrying, I never thought I'd get this far. You can too!

ashleighbeee · 14/01/2009 14:52

Well I am from Hemel Hempstead and my nearest hospital is Watford, who until VERY recently offered first scan at 20 weeks!!!! have now started to offer dating scans however a friend of mine hasnt been offered one until 16 weeks... that is disgusting if you were to ask me! What about MMC! however i imagine (hard to remember) if you've not had miscarriage before then you're not all that worried... minxofmancunia I would definately recommend going privately for scans.. I have had very very positive experiences both times!!

Congratulations youknownothingofthecrunch on buying your birthing pool! No you're not jinxing it im sure.. you're just being prepared ..

Congratulations herbaceous on making 16 weeks! I hope i will be joining you in 8 weeks.. still worried every time i go to the loo!! When does this get easier?? xx

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/01/2009 15:59

Thanks ashleigh

Fozzie78 · 14/01/2009 19:02

Hi Everyone,

How terrible anyone having to wait 16 weeks nevermind 20 weeks, I think men must make those rules or at least someone who doesnt understand how desperate us women who have had mc's feel. Imagine the wait???

Great news- 16 weeks Hebaceous yours was one of the first stories I followed and im so pleased for you. It gives reassurance and hope to those who are feeling there is little hope.

Im now 6 1/2 week, had no more bleeding since my scan last week and my next scan is a week today. I just hope I see a heartbeat, how emotional and fantastic that would be.

blogqueen · 14/01/2009 19:07

Thanks for your encouraging words. Can't relax until the 12 week scan and I can see it moving, not the grey blob.
I wouldn't hesitate to pay privately for that. No way I would wait until 20 weeks for my first scan!

Fozzie78 · 14/01/2009 19:13

congratulations ashleighbeee x

napa · 14/01/2009 19:38

wow, what a busy day on the thread. Its so nice to see people around the same gestation as me with the same worries!! Hoping that means we're all normal not all nuts.

Ashleigh - fab news about the scan (and yes I am a midwife, happy to answer questions if I can, but don't be afraid to moan about your midwives if they deserve it! and I live not far from you too!).

Fozzie - have we got the same due date? Mine is 4th Sept at the moment, til scan says otherwise. I'm 6+5 today.

and welcome to newbies. I've only been here since last week and already feel reassured just reading about everyone else's experiences.

Well, I had a rubbish day at work. Was supposed to be interviewing for new staff but less that half the people we shortlisted turned up, such a waste of a day. But I have the next 2 days off, yipee!

Off to put DD to bed, bye for now

Wheelybug · 14/01/2009 21:37

Whispers to Napa - . At least we're all in it together.

ronshar · 14/01/2009 22:41

Just popping in to see how everyone is getting on.
I hope everyone is ok.
I think that you have to be nuts to be on this thread. I know I would have gone totally crazy without the ladies here to get me through the dark days.
Not sure if I ever said thank you.
All good here. Still knackered. I do wonder why I thought 3 DC was a good idea.
William is 14 weeks now. Time is flying by.

minxofmancunia · 15/01/2009 12:19

Hi everyone have just come back from epu bloods 2 days ago were hcg1226, rather than take more bloods they did and internal scan which I wasn't expecting and threw me a bit, the scan woamn was horrible.

scan report said gestational sac and they said everything as it should be but no yolk and no heartneat cos too early prob 4.5 wks pg, am worried now cos no yolk etc, what does this mean??? Think the last pg which mc was a sac.

going back in 2 weeks for a scan where there hopefully should be a heartbeat but this is when the mc happened last time. Wish they'd just done a blood test but said they didn't need to.

confused, cramps have gone down a bit though.

mumface · 15/01/2009 12:49

Have had bad period type cpamps for 24hrs now and reduced to tears.Had them with last 2 healthy pregnancies so shouln't worry but can't help it as it feels so unnatural.Thought i had got away with it this pregnancy as usually get them much earlier aswell.Am 14+5
Another 14 weeks till my next MW appointment!Must b NHS cutbacks
Wish my tummy had a little window in it!

ashleighbeee · 15/01/2009 14:35

Mumface I imagine it does feel a little unatural.. I dont know what its like to be 14+5 however i have cramps on a daily basis and bled yesterday... although scanning lady (sonographer or whatchamacallthem) said she cannot see anything at all that is causing it & baby is 100% there with little heartbeat pumping away!!! I would like to say on behalf of us all.. why can there not be textbook pregnancy's?? Where we just have no cramps and no brown discharge/bleeding so that our hearts arent tugged everytime something feels a little bit strange!! Minxofmancunia 4 weeks and 5 days does seem very early.. however a little mean of them to give you an internal scan rather than waiting until a time when a hearbeat should definitely be present.. all i can say is that they probably dont realise the agony that this wait will cause! Please dont be worried though I am sure all is fine and you'll go back in 2 weeks and all will be okay. Thinking of all of us that are equally confused and baffled!!
napa I have not yet booked in at my surgery.. therefore have never met a midwife.. so def no complaining from me (yet ha) I imagine that it was a very difficult time for you having m/c and being around preggo women.. Am VERY pleased for you that you are now one of the preggos!

Does anyone know when i should have definitely told my doctor by? I am considering moving surgery's as I had a very horrible experience with current surgery during m/c! I am 8+2 today I was thinking about going at 10 weeks? Too late??

ashleighbeee · 15/01/2009 14:37

P.S Thanks to all who congratulated me on my scan.. I will need all of your positive thoughts when i go again next Saturday! I know i am obsessed with this private scan malarky! I cant get enough.. whats £90 to see my little baby ay?!
