Welcome youknownothingofthecrunch and ray81, you?ve joined at a good time for the trip to Barbados on conceived air .

ray81 we can all emphasise about the feelings about not being able to take it if mc happens again. Supporting each other through the turmoil that is pg after mc is what this thread is all about and everyone on here really understands. Hopefully the backache is nothing ? only advice is to take one day at a time and try and stay positive

youknownothingofthecrunch this is definitely the place to be! It?s strange telling my 9yr old DD has actually been really therapeutic for helping me begin to bond with this bean ? she?s very excited she?d given up hope of a sibling I think. I think after mc it?s natural to distance yourself from the pg and try to not think about it being a real baby as the pain of previous losses is so raw. We?re nearly half way though ? that?s a great sign

herby I?m wishing you tons and tons and tons of luck for tomorrow and borrowing sticky baby dust from my neighbour that had 4 kids (twins unplanned ? eek)

Do you know I had a wicked moment there I?m so tempted to take the graduates off the list but it?s nice to see the positive outcomes to try and keep our peckers up. Do you think it?s hormones that I feel like I?ve got bad PMT ? I had a tantrum at work yesterday

Doppler arrived today ?hurrah
Missed it cos was at work ? bum!
Will collect tomorrow and please please please let me hear the baby.

dan39 · 11/11/2008 21:21

scotlass good luck with the doppler but DO NOT PANIC too much if you can't find it immediately! That's an order.

sussex your tears reminded me of my arrival home at midnight after mmc - they had given me really nasty drugs to take (following 2 surgeries and one medical proc in 3 days) and I arrived home and drank half a bottle of shiraz wuth about 3 lb of stilton before starting the drugs - thinking, f* 'em, that'll teach them! Best wine and cheese I ever had. Glad you are bleeding too (er, that sounds awful but I hope you know what I mean)

Welcome youknow and well done for your 16 whole weeks!! Are you doing any reassuring things like doppler/visits to GP to hear doppler/extra scans? Stick with us and dig out your suntan for the Barbados extravaganza (we need some tropical cocktail emoticons...)

Thank you all for your spd sympathies. I am scared at the mo that work will make me start Mat Leave early...planning on finishing in Jan but with 3 weeks AL first, think there is something about 11 weeks before ie 29 weeks that mean they can insist if you are off sick...I am 28 (but according to mat b1 only 27)...had a little hysterics weep just now, dh came found me blubbering and was very nice but STILL didn't offer to cook any tea...

downbutnotout · 11/11/2008 21:38

herby best of luck for tomorrow.

dan - funnily enough I was thinking that myself! It will soon be our turn - blimey! Don't envy you the spd (or you crunch), my baboon's bum is hard enough to cope with and that should hopefully be gone very soon.

teeheelaydee · 11/11/2008 21:47

Hope you ladies don't mind another passenger - I can go in the luggage hold or even overhead lockers as v/tiny if no seats left on conceived air.

Am currently 18+3 after 3 m/c's between June 07 and Feb 08, no children already so am a novice. I did pop my head in here in the early days of this pg but ran away and hid soon after - too soon I think although with the wobbles I have had think I should have stuck around as reading some of the most recent messages has made me feel I am not crazy pg lady after all!! Have accepted that if still having worries at 18 weeks they are probabaly not going to go away so need to fess up to my knicker checking status!

Ray81 Know exactly what you mean about the fear of another m/c - I try not to think about it as know it doesn't really help but my brain has a mind of it's own.

teeheelaydee · 11/11/2008 21:50

Forgot to say dan39 I think it's 30 weeks (I know it's only another week but every bit counts) that they can make you start maternity. However how symmpathetic are work and how clued up are they? I have found that many of the powers that be at my place don't have a clue what they can and can't do. If you know more than they do it could be OK.

joyfuleyes · 12/11/2008 08:15

herb masses & masses of luck for today.

sussex hope you're okay (it's silly thing to say really )

Hi teeheelaydee! Congratulations on inching closer to the end

I'm completely losing it here, have the 12 week scan next Thirsday & I don't know what to do with the kids or dh. I'm pretty sure it won't be good news & think I should just go on my own (dh can have the day off work & look after the children) to get it over with rather than messing around trying to sort childcare out. This is the 5th pregnancy that has made it at least to (almost) the 2nd trimester & last time I had a little bump by now, there's nothing this time = baby dead in my mind. I BLOODY hate this

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 12/11/2008 08:29

Joyful - please don't think the worst. With my mmc in April, one of the things I'd found difficult was that my belly was so swollen which made me think there couldn't be anything wrong. There was. This time I still don't really have a bump at 14+3 and have decided it's because the baby is using all my calories this time and my body's working hard to support it's growth.
Don't know if that helps but it's my logic anyway!

sussexoldspot · 12/11/2008 09:01

Morning all!

joyful I agree completely with ses - with all three of my mcs, I've had a swollen, hard belly and thought everything was OK because of this, yet with the one successful pg, I didn't really notice anything at all until over 16 weeks. Lots of hugs to you for next Thursday.

herb thinking of you today.

Am OK here (you know how it is). I called the fertility clinic yesterday and confirmed our appt for 22nd Nov. Apparently they are also going to test DP too (because I'm 41, it never even crossed my mind that there might be a problem with him, as he's only 34). I blushed a bit and asked the lady whether he needed to bring a, er, 'magazine'. Oooh no, she said, we have them here. It's a private hospital we're going to, so I asked whether it was posh porn, you know, soft-focus shots of Joanna Lumley? Oooh no, she said - it's the usual sleaze men love!

I must admit I feel a bit threatened - maybe it's the hormones?

SparkyMalarky · 12/11/2008 09:51

Good luck today herb have everything crossed.

joyful - I had the worst MS with my MC - and even now at 13+5 my tummy isn't that firm. Easier said than done, but try not to drive yourself too mad with worry.

dan - chin up chuck...how you feeling today? Did you manage to persuade DH to make you any food?

Welcome teehee I've only just put myself on the list so take your time and please feel free to add to the gusset report here (herb that's genius!! definitely the name of the next thread!)

Sussex am chuckling at the thought of 'posh porn'

OP posts:
ronshar · 12/11/2008 09:55

Sussex, I am so sorry things are crap for you at the moment. Maybe you should take a pole with you to the clinic & do a dance for DH. No need for posh porn then.

Herb good luck for today. Lots of healthy and well vibes in your direction.

I dont mind if you want to get rid of me from the list. I still check on here to see how everyone is getting on. Is that ok. I dont get on as much as before. Pesky Ds likes to feed all night.

Wheelybug · 12/11/2008 10:00

Thinking of you Herb. Let us know how you get on when you can. Keeping everything crossed (which is pretty uncomfortable !).

Joyful - Try not to worry (ha ha). NO words of advice I'm afraid but I hope next thursday comes quickly for you.

Welcome Grinch and welcome back Teehee. I still stress everyday at almost 23 weeks so I think we just have to accept its here to stay.

Sussex - Good luck with the appt on 22nd. LOL at posh porn. At least he has to do it then and there - DH could do his at home and he procrastinated for ages which was a bit irritating.

Waves at everyone else... Hope you're all doing as well as can be expected !

Wheelybug · 12/11/2008 10:01

ooh Hello Ronshar - crossed posts. Hope DS (and you) are doing ok.... apart from the all night feed marathon...

grinningbee · 12/11/2008 10:07

Morning ladies!

Please can I book a seat for Barbados? I'm going quietly bonkers here.

20 + 6 today and have my scan on Monday. I am terrified and a little bit excited. I don't think I could bear it if there's anything wrong. I am still knicker checking every time I go to the loo! Definitely need sedating and plonking on a beach somewhere hot...

Now then. I need some advice from you all. Would you book concert tickets for when you are 37 weeks pg? DH is all excited as Il Divo are doing a concert in early March. I have initially said ok, but then at that point, are you too uncomfortable to sit still, do you constantly need a wee? Must admit, other than having to get up once in the night, my bladder has behaved so far (just jinxed that, didn't I!!).

What would you do?

dan39 · 12/11/2008 11:01

Grinning hello again - I think you should book it but have a backup/substitute to send with him if you don't feel up to it on the day - that way he won't be disappointed. I went to see Goldfrapp last week (at 26ish weeks) and had a seat which was good, but I deffo didn't enjoy it as much as I would have done without the bump/heartburn etc...
Sussex lol at Joanna Lumley (we will prob get sued on here fo Lumley+porn..- agree with wheely that at the clinic is better as nine arsed around at home for weeks too over his, then insisted I join in - poss tmi there!!! Will be great to feel you are doing something tho, so all things crossed (tho its a bit painful with the spd) for the appt.
Joyful just to echo what others have said - I too had dreadful ms/swollen tum with mmc and nothing this time other than mild dizziness....there is no rhyme or reason to this madness at all. All you can do is limp forwards in time to Thu (is it next Thu or this?) and manage your expectations in a way that works for you. Re going on your own - think that bit thru a wee bit as you might be in need of support either way?

Oh crikey, I didn't mean to equate Joanna Lumley with porn - apologies in advance to Carter-Ruck and Partners, or whoever her libel lawyers are (heeeelp, Morningpaper!)

Is the room where the men 'produce' just off the waiting room? Given our lack of 'activity' over the last weeks, DP is concerned at just how long to leave it before coming out with his full pot. He thinks people will snigger if he's out within 2 minutes.

Anyway, maybe I should leave you lovely ladies in peace and go and find the 'sperm sample timeframe anxiety' thread?

Have hopped off Conceived Air for the time being and hope to be back on again in 2009!

Still ahve everything crossed for you herb

herbaceous · 12/11/2008 12:25

Aww, thank you ladies. You're all so great. Still have sore boobs, feel sick, all that, so am trying not to worry. Had a massive middle-of-the-night fret, and had to go and listen to my Paul McKenna relaxation CD. He's a miracle worker.

RahRah1 · 12/11/2008 12:27

ladyhelen2 · 12/11/2008 13:10

ladyhelen2 - 3rd May

15 + 3 today. Soon be half way.....

Right, off to do some work now.

Wheelybug · 12/11/2008 14:22

grinning - I would risk it I think if its something you really want to see. Its not as if you'll be pogo-ing in the mosh pit to Il Divo is it . I went to see the second part of the dark materials play at the national when I was about the same (prob a bit less but 35 weeks at least) and it was 3 hours on v. hard seats and I was really worried I wouldn't cope but I was absolutely fine. Maybe see if you can get aisle seats or something in case you need to keep going to the loo !

Sussex - I don't know about the location of such rooms as DH had to do his at home. I would have thought though they would put them somewhere discreet ?? But then having said that, at my gp's all new purpose built surgery you have to walk through the waiting room to get to the loos which is a bit embarrassing if you need to do a wee sample.

Youknownothingofthecrunch - sorry I called you 'Grinch' earlier - not sure why ? Apologies !!

Herby - still thinking of you and sending positive vibes.

cece · 12/11/2008 14:33

How did it go herbm been thinking of you today.

KashaSarrasin · 12/11/2008 14:55

Hi everyone just dropping in to say congratulations and lots of sticky vibes to all of you! It's great to see so many names I recognise from MC Avengers here !

I was on this thread earlier this year, pg following two m/c and due beginning Sept, had a horrible pregnancy with heavy bleeds every few weeks. DS2 decided to put in an appearance 9 weeks early and was born 30th June! He's fine despite the rocky start though and is currently sleeping on my left arm as I type .

I hope you are all doing well and wish you all the best with your pregnancies!

sussexoldspot · 12/11/2008 16:56

I'm sorry, I can't leave this thread, it would be like throwing away a crutch . Does anyone mind if I add another section to the list 'Waiting to board Conceived Air'? Then the likes of me, roque, TMD, etc could add our names

Many congratulations, Kasha, what wonderful news!

Hope everything went OK, herb
