kate2179 · 12/11/2008 17:07

Oooo Ooooo Sussex please can I join you on the waiting list! Shall we wait in the departure lounge til we're allowed to go through to the gate

I've been so sorry to read your news these past few days, and I can totally relate to everything you're experiencing, from crying in the wine aisle to the relief when you finally know what's happening

But you'll see. We'll be on that plane yet.

Btw I had a nosey sneaky peek at your profile, and I can totally see why you want another baby, your DS is GORGEOUS!

Have been lurking all day looking out for Herby - anyone heard anything? Where are you Herb?

Good to see you here Teehee - you've come to the right place

Going to go back a page now to find out why Kasha is being congratulated...

maz32 · 12/11/2008 17:08

kate2179 · 12/11/2008 17:17

Kasha your little boy is such a cutie! Really glad things are going well for you now I remember what a stressful pg you had with him from last time I was here "properly"

sussexoldspot · 12/11/2008 17:20

Aww, kate! Thanks so much for those comments about DS. DP and I worry sometimes that there'll be a knock on the door one night and a really good-looking couple will be there, holding a child that looks like the back of a bus, saying "There was a terrible mistake at the hospital..."

Yes, I think sometimes we're being a bit greedy, wanting a second child so much.

Sussex you're not being greedy at all. It's just a different situation. Already having one you have a much clearer idea than I do of what keeps being taken away from you Right. I'm off to duty free for Bombay Saphire, Toblerone, and a few free squirts of Coco Chanel. Essential Barbados purchases. Coming?

kate2179 · 12/11/2008 18:04

PS Sussex you are lucky though that DS is such a handsome chap, from your profile shot you're a bit of a fat pig!

herbaceous · 12/11/2008 18:24

Hello!

Thank you all for being in such suspenders for me. Most touching.

Anyway, all is well! Took her a while to find Cromwell, as DP is calling him, through all my farts, once again - so as you can imagine the pause sent the sweat-ometer up to 11 - but she found him, his heart's still beating, and he's grown the right amount!

I was so excited I forgot to ask her what might be causing the pink gusset.

joyfuleyes · 12/11/2008 18:29

Herbaceous yay! Go Cromwell Great news!

scotlass · 12/11/2008 18:40

Hi girls,

Can I just say thanks for cheering me up - had a crap day at work and have just been giggling through the thread.

I love that sussex and kate are staying with us - I hate it when people leave! Someone find roque and tell her she's wanted at the departure gate. It feels like we go through so much together that I miss people when they go, either to arrivals or the departure gate. Hang around long enough with the bonkers brigade, it'll be sure to happen (get it bonking?? - I know don't give up the day job)

herby well done that's the best news

grinning deffo book, but try and get an aisle seat

sussex a friend of mine was asked if she wished to join her DH in the room, she said no thank you very much in her most polite voice then pissed herself laughing at his lost little boy look. I?d say 10mins would be etiquette enough!!

joyful I really feel for you ? I agree ? it?s shit! I echo the being big not always good though, I was much bigger earlier with my mmc in Feb and it didn?t work out. This one has seemed to balloon in the last week (am 17wks now) and feeling really obvious movement.

dan you ok? Did you check when they would have to make you start maternity leave if you are off? Hope you have been putting your feet up and resting and that your DH is being good to you

Got my Doppler this morning. Had to have a listen in the car outside the mail delivery place - luckily wasn?t arrested for indecent exposure!! Have just had another listen and it?s official ? I?m having a train . Have resisted the temptation to strap it to my belly all evening. Can?t wait to let DD listen though ? she?s killing me ? even told the man who cleans out my bin that her mum?s having a baby . I do urge caution though, I think I?ve been lucky to locate hb straight away ? think it could be a nightmare if there is no reassuring thumpity thump.

Wheelybug · 12/11/2008 19:01

Yay !! Fantastic news Herby Go Cromwell !

sussexoldspot · 12/11/2008 19:03

heeeeeeeeeeeeerb YAAAAAAAY! I'm raising a mug of hot chocolate to you, great news! Go oldies! (with all due respect, ahem)

Thank you for letting me stay, everyone! Kate, you forgot the tequila! Arriba! Hang on... fat pig? Hrumph! Ha ha, you're spot on, that's why I chose my nickname

herbaceous · 12/11/2008 19:15

I just saw Jo Wiley has had a daughter at 43 (Jo, not the baby), so GO OLDIES indeed SOS. And go Cromwell (named after Rolf Harris's dad, on TV last night for fighting in WWI. Rolf sang Two Little Boys with a male voice choir. Not a dry eye, or indeed seat, in the house.)

sussexoldspot · 12/11/2008 19:44

Also, herb, our builder Keith's wife had their two daughters at 42 and 45. Keith is 34. Go Mrs Keith!

And, of course, go little Cromwell!

dan39 · 12/11/2008 20:32

sussex I can't believe you did it outside the mail delivery!!

herby WAAAAY-HEEEY!!! Fantastic, so pleased for you!

Stick with us one and all - this is the best laugh I have all day!

Been a good girl today and done lots of lying down. Deffo helps with the pain. Paid the gas bill. Wrote some transfer summaries for work. Dh is being sort of nice...he encouraged me to buy lots of nice easy food online from Waitrose...so off now for posh salmon en croute...

Oh and apparently its the last 4 weeks they vcan kick me onto mat leave so that's fab!

teeheelaydee · 12/11/2008 21:39

I agree with you Dan39 todays posts have really put smile on my face. Sussex can't stop imaging your DP sitting reading the articles in the magazines checking his watch for manly appropriate time to leave the room!!

Herbaceous Congratulations, I would've freaked if they couldn't find a hb straight away, the relief must have been immense.

Scotlass I think I am too much of a coward to get a Doppler would just be petrified if couldn't find hb plus would never get work done or anything else as could seriously listen to that sound all day!!

Kate you have to stick around - I need you to hold my hand - am scared of flying and pregnancy! Plus it won't be long before you are no longer on standby so to speak (flying reference not suggesting you are on standby!)

teeheelaydee · 12/11/2008 21:42

BTW - thank you for the lovely welcome - really must learn to preview messages before posting.

sussexoldspot · 12/11/2008 22:09

Thank you all for your sperm sample etiquette tips, folks. Can't wait to see what happens (all of which will be reported in full, salacious detail on this thread, of course). scot, DP agreed with the 10 minutes' delay, then he looked shifty and asked whether I thought there was anyone on here who might know him ...

Wish you all lived nearby so I could give you all huge hugs in person. You have really got me through this nightmare in the last few weeks. Our part of Sussex is wonderful for family holidays, when you're all back from Barbados, you know!

ladylush · 12/11/2008 22:14

Fantastic news Herby

bunnyinheadlights · 12/11/2008 22:33

yay herby so pleased for you

hello kate happy to see you and sussex at the departure gate - you know the plane will not be leaving without you! will join you in some shopping - am quite fancying a giant bar of twix and a thick stack of trashy mags - hello, ok, you name it.

dan spd is the pitts - i had it really bad with dd. had to wear this belt thing which was ok when standing but really cut into belly when sitting down. which made it look really awkward to be sitting down and then fishing around under skirt to get belt off. not a good look. found physio useless, but osteopath really helped.

hello to other ladies - today's post really put a smile on my face too

bunnyinheadlights · 12/11/2008 22:37

forgot to say welcome back teehee you are in good company here. 18 weeks already! wow isnt that great. i am 25 weeks and still worry...!!

ronshar · 12/11/2008 23:01

Brilliant news Herby. I am really happy that everything is ok.

dan39 · 12/11/2008 23:03

I might buy a new watch in duty free...or a new camera. Deffo a big toblerone and some fizz - Veuve Cliquot methinks. The special one that's good for bumps.

Off to bed now feeling bored but better after being off for two whole days. Have spent loads on Amazon (tots bots nappies and a hypnobirthing CD!!) and eBay (duvet cover for the smelly single duvet I drag around the house with me) so can live for the postie's visits now!

sussex tell him we do know him - go on!! My DH is safe in the illusion that whilst I talk about him on here, I do so eith a loving indulgent admiration that makes him sound attentive, clever and arractive. Bless...

downbutnotout · 13/11/2008 09:15

herby - hurrah! Fantastic news!

sussex - with pleasing irony dh and I embarked on fertility tests the month before I got the bfp this time. Turns out that dh has the worst sperm ever (I exaggerate but not by much) so good job we got that news after we found out I was up the spout. Despite not having enough sperm and only 1% normal morphology he has still managed to get me pg five times (albeit 3 of those didn't end happily), so I think there is hope for everyone. Dh says that it is down to quality rather than quantity - bless.

Sperm samples have to be delivered direct to the Microbiology Unit here which is in a totally separate location to the hospital. I haven't asked dh for details - have disturbing image of him pleasuring himself in the car before leaping out and delivering it.

sussexoldspot · 13/11/2008 09:16

Hee hee dan! I wouldn't expect anything less of you! It's lovely having loads coming through the post, isn't it? I've got £58 until payday. I even thought it was lucky I'm off work at the mo, because I'm saving money on diesel

Can I ask - those of you who have had recurrent miscarriages, such as you, herb, have you had them investigated and if so, do you mind telling me what they found, if anything?

SparkyMalarky · 13/11/2008 09:17

just logged in and HOOOOORRRRAAAAAYYY herbs such good news

Glad no one is leaving us just now - there's lots of shopping in duty free to be done, we can delay the flight as long as we need to

dan - glad you're feeling better if bored thank goodness for internet shopping!

I'm exhausted today, had a great big shouty hormone driven row with DH (about NOTHING!!) last night as am I'm so tired today I feel all achey and am convinced that getting all shouty and stressy must have hurt the bean (seriously, how did I get through my PG with DS being so blase?). Someone tell me I'm being mental pls (as I type this I realise it's definitely the case.....)
