Incredible isn't it, ladylush?

When I told my GP I was taking Aspirin 'just in case' with this pregnancy, he looked at me like I had landed from Mars and just said 'Er..... why?'

cece · 13/11/2008 20:14

Just popping in to say that I am pleased to read your good news herby!

ladylush · 13/11/2008 21:26

some spotting here in surrey

Wheelybug · 13/11/2008 21:41

Ladylush - thinking of you this evening. I am so hoping its nothing to worry about. How many weeks are you ?

teeheelaydee · 13/11/2008 22:12

Fingers crossed that nothing to worry about ladylush. Hope you can get some reassurance tomorrow.

Had blood tests for the anti-thingy after 3rd m/c and was then fobbed off and registrar wouldn't do the genetic test for another 6 months, but I had some time off sick in April as was struggling to get over the last years events and my GP arranged the tests which came back clear, it was about a month later that I fell with this pg.

Sussex Totally get the feeling of almost wanting there to be a fixable controllable problem but actually once we'd ruled out some stuff I did feel more able to try again, so kinda know what downbutnotout means when talking about being more relaxed. Who knows if that's what did the trick.

My m/c's were all pretty early too (6 weeks 10 weeks(mmc) and 6 weeks again)

Glimmer · 14/11/2008 04:41

Hello everybody. Lately, I have found myself on the TTC threads, although DS is just 12 months [hmmm] and was born after mc and lots of complications. I don't think that there is a TTC after mc thread any more?! . Might have to open one....

I just popped in to say hi to Ladylush. I think we were thread for a while, and then you namechanged?! In any case, I just wanted to let you know that I spotted from week five to nine with DS and not at all when in the pregnancy I miscarried. So for me, spotting will always be a good sign.

All the best to everybody. I hope I will be joining you in the not to distant future....

LoobyLou36 · 14/11/2008 08:44

thinking of you ladylush

Hope all is okay.

ladylush · 14/11/2008 09:12

Thanks ladies - and hi Glimmer, yes I do remember you Nothing since. I've put on a towel so that I can inspect! I'm 6 weeks +2 days. I searched mumsnet and someone said that there is further implantation at 6 weeks. Hope that's what it is.

SparkyMalarky · 14/11/2008 09:17

ladylush - hope you're doing ok.

winemakesmummyclever · 14/11/2008 09:29

Hope the spotting is just one of those little blips - plenty of women have it and go on to have gorgeous healthy babies. Put your feet up as much as you can and get in touch with your mw - even if it is nothing, it is best to get it checked out.

Herby - forgot to say "well done you" on your good news. Hope that the positivity spreads through everyone on the thread.

Dan - physio recommended trying different positions for sex, especially lying on side in a spoons kind of way. Of course, my current favourite is snuggled up under my duvet, snoring and totally oblivious to any amorous advances from dh! Poor guy - don't know how he puts up with me.

Have started ds in nursery for an extra day now - we were planning to do so just before this lo arrives anyway. Feel a bit of a wuss as can only manage about an hour out of the house a day before my pelvis feels like it is crumbling to bits. We decided it wasn't fair on him to be stuck in with me (though my parents and sister are great and take him out when possible), so he gets to cover someone else's floor & furniture in food, paint and playdough for three days a week now.

Plus, it means I will have more time to MN study, so it is working well for us all at the mo. Speaking of which, I'm off to write a job description/person spec for a media resource library manager - anyone in HR, your input would be gratefully received [insert grovelling emoticon here].

scotlass · 14/11/2008 10:07

Hi everyone,

didn't get chance to check here yesterday, this thread really moves fast!

sussex I'm another recurrent miscarrier, which came as a complete shock after a totally straight forward pg 10yrs ago (maybe being 26 helped rather than being 36). Ist-8wks, 2nd - mmc at 11.5wks (died at 9wks) and then 3rd - 5wks. Both DH and I had bloods taken after 2nd (whilst getting preop bloods for ERPC) for chromosomal analysis, clotting, lupus and any other routine things (I didn't really take it in at the time). I's asked if they could test the baby after ERPC but the snooty young dr who insisted on calling it 'products' said as it was only the 2nd they wouldn't. TBH I'm not sire if it would've helped anyway, if it had came back as a chromosomal problem which I think it probably was there was nothing to say it would happen again. All our bloods came back normal and as DD was the product of both me and my DH we've never got to a conclusion why we lost 3 . The MW in EPU suggested aspirin and Jules (snoopdog) also gave me inspiration to give that a go. We conceived the 2nd month after last mc and I took baby aspirin as soon as I got a bfp. I also had early scans 6wks - 12wks, took 3 wks off work between 7-10wks and tried to stay positive. Fingers crossed have got to 17+3 and have heard hb so although still terrified I'll lose it again it does feel like a relief to get to the stage where I can feel it kicking and bouncing around.

ladylush you OK? Hoping everything has settled down for you.

wmmc it's great to see you, I was missing you, though you may have been being good and studying lots though.

I'm having a down day - my belly hurts quite a lot - do you think it could just be stretching??? Have been having a pre sleep time check with doppler and it's moving around like mad.

My poor old grandpa is really poorly as well and I think he might not make it . I took DD up to the hospital last night to say her goodbye before he gets any worse hoping he wouldn't be too bad but he was confused and didn't seem to know who she was which really upset her. It's difficult she's too old to leave her out of it but so young to understand.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/11/2008 10:19

Ladylush I hope that everything's ok now in Surrey. Thinking of you.

Can I ask if anyone has any recommendations for dopplers? I think it would really help settle my nerves to be able to listen in on what is going on in there.

The "Angelsounds" one seems cheap and although I've seen comments about the quality of the craftsmanship, as long as the thing works I'm happy.

scotlass · 14/11/2008 10:26

I hired mine through here it's £9.99 a month (6.95 delivery the first month). Mine is bog standard it's more if you want digital display of actual hb.

It's a bit of a hide and seek game at 17wks and I have had a couple of times where I couldn't find hb, others found it straight away. You just have to have a good search - full bladder seems to help too.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/11/2008 10:33

Thanks scotlass, I think I might buy the cheapy one and see how we get on. I have a horrible image of my 3 year old with anything hired - it would be doomed methinks

scotlass · 14/11/2008 10:37

{grin] yes DD had a habit of posting things down the toilet or in the bin at that age. Now she's been well warned 'it's not a toy' - she keeps asking how come I get to play with it then?? We did listen to her heart when I couldn't find babies hb -

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/11/2008 10:52

Yes I can see me sitting in the kitchen drinking 8 glasses of water so that I can feel "reassured"

I'm going to have to be quite strict with myself on how much I use it. I'm hoping it will give me a feeling of control, as well as helping bonding. Fingers crossed.

scotlass · 14/11/2008 10:56

I have been more strict the last two days - first day have to confess was on about 4 times. I hardly felt baby move yesterday (was out from 0800 - 2100 though) and it did help me sleep better having heard hb. BUT - I have thought am I mad - what if you really can't find hb - would the MW's think here comes a complete nutter with her hired doppler!!

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/11/2008 11:09

Definitely

I'm not sure I have felt movement yet. I'm pretty sure I have but am not 100% convinced. I've ordered a cheapy rubbishy one from ebay. I hope it arrives soon.

I see you're due 4 days before me Scotlass We can wander into MW's insanely together clutching our dopplers.

LoobyLou36 · 14/11/2008 11:15

hired my doppler off ebay - company in Newport.

Took quite a while the other night to find heartbeat but did eventually. Not for long tho cos I think baby was quite active and kept moving (lots of space as only 15+5)

youknownothingofthecrunch · 14/11/2008 11:18

I must remind myself that if I can't hear anything the first thing I do is come on MN to be told to stop being daft.

scotlass · 14/11/2008 11:52

yes dan has already given the order - DO NOT PANIC!! They'll keep us sane

I think the movements were more obvious the other day cos baby was at the top of the bump, first at left side then cheeky shifted to the right - didn't fool me. Last night it was right down at the bottom. I'd start at middle check one side then other, careful though cos it picks up your pulse too and the babes is much faster.

winemakesmummyclever · 14/11/2008 14:10

Hi scotlass - yes, have been trying to be good and study [swot], but have a wee bit of breathing space between assignments for a week or so (thank God!). Glad to see you and the lo are getting along fine, but sorry to hear about your grandpa. Am sure he knew at some level that you & your dd were there & how much you love him.

Youknow - dopplers can be very addictive and some MW are a bit about having them at home. But I think that if you want one, you should get one. It is just one of the ways some of us keep a tenuous hold on our sanity on here

I used to pop into the loo at work with one when pg with ds to have a quick listen in. Haven't got one myself, and am glad really as the placenta is at the front with this pg and even MWs have trouble finding FHB. Would have turned myself into a quivering, gel-covered wreck!

Oh well, back to the books once again.

ladylush · 14/11/2008 15:46

well it's kind of weird..........not bleeding but a kind of yellowish/orange discharge. Have asked gp to refer me for early scan as by the time I get the appt. I will be 7 weeks and there should be a hb if it's alive. My thyroid results are weird. TSH has gone down beautifully from 2.4 to 0.98 but the T4 has gone up to 25 which is too high. I might have to reduce my thyroxine.

Wheelybug · 14/11/2008 16:59

LL - glad there is no more bleeding as such. I know some people get an orangey discharge when pregnant. Have seen it asked on here before. Hope the weekend isn't too stressful for you. Keep us updated when you can.

maz32 · 14/11/2008 19:38

hi everyone, have got a date for my scan on tuesday when i will hopefully be just over 9 weeks, just wondered what they will be able to see then? x
