Hello ladies and welcome to Moomin and Marxand sparks! Sounds like things are hard for you guys at the moment - the worry never seems to go does it?

How are the rest of you all?!! Have first meeting with midwife tonight... about time! Can't believe I will be 11 weeks on Friday - it has whizzed by when I think about it! But still not really accepting it all it case the worst happens!

Lully - how are you doing?!

Hi everyone

I contacted my GP's office to get hold of the midewife to be told that I am right at the bottom of the list to be contacted and that they probably won't see me until after the new year as they are so busy and have a huge backlog.

  1. I am worried that this is a sign of my NHS care to come

  2. I have got pregnant in a Midwich Cuckoos kind of scenario where my whole village is pregnant (thus causing a backlog in visitation).

My and DH and I decided we can't wait until after Christmas so I have contacted BabyBond to have a 12 week scan Christmas week. Think it is money well spent.

Tinker3 · 02/12/2008 15:35

Good move Acceber... I will be doing the same if I can't get a scan before Christmas... The trouble is I want the Nuchal fold scan done for Down's which can only be offered between weeks 11 and 13...

Hi All, im doing ok at the mo. I have opt with midwife tomorrow morning and i want to try and push for a scan. Ive been having bad dreams and im worrying like hell that something bad has happened so will see if i can have peace of mind scan or even hear the heart beat if possible.

My boobs have grown and are more painful than ever so i guess thats a good sign, although my DH told me they look scary!!

Hope everyone is well. I will report tomorrow with news from the midwife.

Tinker3- goodl luck tonight keep us posted!!

MoominMoma · 02/12/2008 18:17

Hi
Well I seem to have a six week gummy bear inside me with a little heartbeat! Have had a little bleeding since I got back from the hospital but she was quite heavy handed with the wand this time so I am hoping that is all that is. Have to say I was very impressed as she has offered me another scan before Christmas (at the time the last one went wrong) so that I don't have to wait until the 12 week scan. Trying to stay positive and can't stop looking at the picture
Hope everyone else is doing ok.

LullyMummaOfOne · 03/12/2008 13:33

Hi ladies,

thats great news MoominMoma- well done!

I went to see the midwife this morning to fill in all the relevent paperwork, my blood pressure was quite low but she said at this stage its fine. I didnt have a scan that i was hoping for, she said they dont have the time or resources to send every paranoid mother for an early assessment scan. I now have to wait for my 12 week scan which is booked for the 16th Dec!

Tink how did your opt go last night?

Tinker3 · 03/12/2008 21:06

Hey everyone! Had app with midwife last night and that was good! She came to the house for well over an hour and we talked through all the options and did the paperwork! I have low blood pressure too Lully - 95/55!!! Which she's a bit worried about but scan should be next week she thinks so I am started to get excited!!

LullyMummaOfOne · 04/12/2008 09:41

Glad to hear all is well Tink, my blood pressure was 95/60!! She said it might explane why ive been a bit cold. I also have to have a glucose test at 16 weeks to check sugar levels as im over weight im at high rish of gestational diabetes, i had tests for this with my DS but luckily came back all clear. Im only a sixe 16/18 but they treat me like im mega obest.
Better to be safe than sorry i guess!

Im looking forward to hearing about everyones scans which are coming up soon.

Tinker3 · 04/12/2008 12:54

Lully Can I be really rude and ask what you weigh?! I am a 16/18 and 5'8.5 and weigh 13st 10... My BMI is 28 I think? Will I have the same problem?

OP posts:
LullyMummaOfOne · 04/12/2008 13:05

Tinker3 im only 5'4 and weigh a bit more than you (about 14st these days). Im not sure if you will need this test but definatly speak to your midwife at your next opt. I was slimmer when i had my DS, was only about 11.5st but still had these tests.

I wouldnt worry, your midwife will guide you though all the tests she feels are necessary.

Acceber · 10/12/2008 15:11

Hey

I like this thread - how is everyone. My update is that I will be 10 weeks on Friday. Feel a little sicky (but not loads), met my midwife and should be having a NHS scan before Christmas (although I have sneakily provisionally booked a babybond scan for 22 Dec). Am nervous but feel positive.

So how is everyone else doing? x

MoominMoma · 10/12/2008 17:02

Hi Acceber, I think you are right to book yourself in for a sneaky scan if it gives you peace of mind. I am going back to the EPU next Wednesday for another scan (I'll be 8 1/2 weeks by then) I am paranoid after last time as the symptoms are not as full on. Shall have to wait and see. Hope everyone else is ok.

hippyme · 10/12/2008 19:37

I am 6 weeks pregnant and paranoid as hell... google isn't helping!

Its good to hear others are getting the "i don't feel pregnant anymore" paranoia attacks, usually (for me anyway) followed by a hormonal outburst of tears!

Tinker3 · 13/12/2008 14:01

Hi guys.. Just to let you know I miscarried this week. Pretty gutting to get to 11+5 weeks. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.. Lot's of love and baby dust to the rest of you..

lizzie9442 · 13/12/2008 21:32

so sorry Tinker its so horrible to mc and wish you all the best for the future. Just try and relax and have a good xmas

Newb · 14/12/2008 20:11

Tinker, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news I can imagine how you must be feeling. I lost my first in July this year at 10+4, now am expecting again and am 10 weeks tomorrow. I thought the second time round it would be unbearable, but it's doable and nature protects you somehow so you are ok.

Take time to grieve for your little one, look after yourself. I promise it will get easier and you will always remember your first baby.

Sending you big hugs xxx

MoominMoma · 14/12/2008 22:56

Tinker3, so sorry to hear your news. Sending you a big hug, it does get easier although it won't feel like it ever will at the moment. xxxx

Acceber · 15/12/2008 10:35

LullyMummaOfOne · 15/12/2008 13:53

So sorry Tinker3, hope you are ok. Speaking of personal experiences it will get easier just gove yourself time. x

feb80 · 15/12/2008 14:19

Tinker3 - I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope you are okay. x

VerifiedLU4097 · 15/12/2008 16:47

Tinker- how sad- thoughts to you and yours.

Hello- can I join? I'm 5+3, with hardly any symptoms except sore boobs. Just found out I've been accepted for promotion at work, but the guy organising it is being a complete ARSE, looking to mess me around and won't discuss where I'll go with me, and will only talk to my line manager. Feeling hacked off, even though I should be happy and I'm trying not to be stressed because of the bean, and that is making me worse, worrying bout holding onto bean. And relax....

Rozebud · 15/12/2008 21:00

Hello,

Tinker, I am really sorry to hear your news, hope you are ok. It sounds like many people m/c and go on to conceive pretty much straight away again. Wishing you all the best.

Verified - I am 5 weeks+ 5(I think). I am also in line for a promotion at work although my boss has now told me not til early January. Been stressing me out. Definitely keeping this under wraps.

I have irregular periods and although I think I conceived c 20 November, my last period was 22nd September. My doctor is sending me for ultrasound, not internal scan, to date the pregnancy. CAn anyone tell me if you see anything with an ultrasound at 7 weeks 5 days (as I think I will be when I have scan). I am frightened they will see nothing and I'll have a miserable christmas. Almost tempted to book a private internal scan before christmas since doctor won't - just for peace of mind.

This is my first pregnancy and i am getting really anxious at times as just so want this baby (have fertility probs and this baby is a miracle) - have v sore, swollen bosoms, bloating and slight nausea just this week (but I'd hardly call it morning sickness). I just keep worrying about ectopic pregnancies (had slight twinges in my right side yesterday) and about blighted ovums and such like. Need to chill out and be patient. Hope the scan shows something - anyone know?

Thanks

Rozebud · 15/12/2008 21:02

Sorry, my ultrasound will be 6 weeks and 5 days. Anyone know if this could show anything or if it will be a waste of time?

SheWillBeLoved · 15/12/2008 21:28

Rozebud - I had an internal scan when they thought I was 7 weeks due to bleeding, but they put me back to 6+1 from the measurements on the scan. We saw a very clear baba along with a heart beating away. We saw nothing on a normal belly scan though so do ask for an internal if you don't see anything
