Hi LullyMumma,
Thanks for pointing out the acronym list at top of page! I wasn't aware of it...
I've woken up today feeling rotten, sore throat and realy bad toothache etc so I want to take it really easy as it's not worth it to take any risks. I did go out last night, probably shouldn't have in hindsight. Was funny in the bar, I had to pretend I was on antibiotics as friends were asking what I was drinking etc. My fiance and I kept staring at each other and having a sneeky grin about it all...

Violet- I have eaten quite a bit of spinach recently and wasn't aware there was Vit A in it, I'm sure it's ok as it is on recommended lists of foods to eat when it comes to folic acid intake.

Hello everyone and welcome to the new ones and congrats on your great news!!

Hello again to wishing - glad you've found this thred! Maybe we should call it 'waiting for week 12!' instead?? Does anyone know how to change a thred title???!!

Re: peanut butter - I have read in various places that you should only avoid eating peanuts if your husband had / has an allergy to them? In case baby has picked this gene up from him.. Otherwise they're fine...!

I am not touching any alcohol or caffeine at all for 12 weeks - I feel it's the least I can do for my little bean...

My spotting / bleeding has stopped again today and I am still getting positive test results (but do know that the hormones hang around for a while) but I am still going for my 6 week scan on Monday - I will let you all know what happens - good or bad!

Enjoy your weekends and keep those feet up!! xx

hello, can i join? I am about six weeks pg but very nervous because i had a miscarriage in july. I have one DS (15 months) so i know i can do it! but so far i've not had any symptoms yet, which is worrying me. my husband and i aren't telling anyone because of what happened last time and i'm finding it all quite difficult. not sure how i'll cope with another miscarriage if it happens but trying to think positive.
anyone else not got any strong symptoms?

VioletRain · 03/11/2008 18:44

Hi Silvermum, easier said than done I know but try not to worry, what will be will be. I am also having thoughts about miscarriage and I think it's normal, although I understand you must be concerned after last time. The only symptoms I am having are the stomach cramps which really worried me until I read it is your uterus expanding. DP reckons I am hormonal (or "more hormonal than usual") but I think it is just him being irritating at the moment .

I have given up smoking since I found out which is the most difficult thing for me, not sure how long I will last and just want to get to the stage where the smell of smoke makes me feel sick as at the moment it is all I am thinking about, but I am just eating like a trojan instead! I have not had any alcohol but I do have a green tea every day or every other day. I might well have a small glass of red wine with a meal at some point if I feel like it - I think it's all about balance.

I don't think you are meant to eat peanut butter if anyone in your family has allergies or asthma.

LullyMummaOfOne · 04/11/2008 09:24

Any news Tinker, how did the scan go?

Tinker3 · 04/11/2008 13:02

Hello!

Well, all seems just fine so far - I saw my little bean,in it's yoke sac, heart pumping away! Very surreal moment seeing him/her, the size of a baked bean but with such a strong heart beat!

The doctor pointed out on the scan a dark area, outside of the sac that was blood, but explained that it was left over implantation bleeding that hasn't fully shed yet and that the reason I get blood every so often is because it gets knocked, as the sac grows (which is daily).. They said I will probably get more bleeding but that if it says the same colour (dark reddy / brown) and that I still have preg symptoms, then not to worry. If the blood becomes pain and is with strong cramping and back ache then to call them...

So, 6.5 weeks down, 5.5 to go until 12 weeks...

Hope you guys are all well!

Glad to hear everything is ok with you & bean.
Im off to the doctors on Friday to confirm my pregnancy & fill out all the paperwork re hospitals etc. Then have my early assessment sacn on the 15th which still seems like weeks away! Roll on 12 weeks ah!?

Today i feel more positive as my boobs have really changed shape and my nipples are darker, these are all good signs everyone keeps telling me.

Has anyone else's symptoms got stronger??

JLo2 · 04/11/2008 14:49

Hi all

Fantastic news Tinker3. I've been thinking of you as I've had a bit of dark spotting this week too. I'm off the doctors on friday and if I can't persuade him to refer me for an early scan and I'll get one done privately. Trying to wait until 8 weeks, but the stress is doing my head in! Haven't told my DH about the spotting as I don't want to worry him as I know he is as paranoid as me

On the positive side getting lots of symptoms, the main one being nausea and exhaustion that hits me about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Just in time for when my 3 DS's come home from school!

Why is time going so slowly.....

Lemonka · 04/11/2008 15:04

Hi everyone!

I decided to join you although, I passed my 5 weeks and now I am just over 10 weeks. I have already had three scans showing normal developing pregnancy.I am scared after my previous MC this year in April and those scans put my mind at rest, at least at the time being. Now I am waiting for 12 wks scan.
I have all typical pregnancy symptoms (which I did not have before)- boobs are tender and very sensitive, very tired and feel sick especially in the evenings, can't stand certain food and all those smells! I even stopped using perfumes! As I am diabetic (type 1) I am under a special care at the hosptial and need to attend antenatal appnts every 2-3 wks; whole team there is fantastic

Congratulations and good luck

tobeingfat · 04/11/2008 17:54

Hello Everyone,

6+4 weeks and the nausea is properly kicking in now. Feeling sick most of the time. Getting up in the morning is the worst. I can only just keep my breakfast down. Feeling generally unwell.

Am getting more excited as the syptoms get worse so not so bad. I think they are there to make you really appreciate the times when they are gone.

It is 7 weeks until christmas, (and there is a good chance i will be puking through the whole thing). So everyone should be scanned and ready to relax. I can't wait.

catcrazymummy · 04/11/2008 20:50

HI EVERYONE i'm new to this i've just found out i'm pregnant (5 weeks now) following a frozen embryo transfer (1st course of IVF failed). The thing is i'm experiancing period pain like stomach aches and am really worried is this normal? I'm sure i've read it can be implanting pains but i've been spotting lightly too has anyone elsa felt this?? I have been really looking forward to this and am not enjoying it at the moment i'm sure i am over-reacting being a first timer. Hope someone can help.

lizzie9442 · 04/11/2008 20:54

Yes I would say its normal to feel these pains.i have had this with all of my pregnancies and I am now 4 and a half weeks pregnant again and have had the same period like pains. So I wouldn't worry. hope this helps.

Tinker3 · 05/11/2008 08:44

Hi there,

I am 6+5 weeks and the doctor I saw on Monday said that mild period like cramps are due to the liagaments moving and streching (our uterus' have grown from the size of a plum to the size of a grapefuit in only a matter of weeks so there's bound to be some aches and pains!!) so I wouldn't worry! Good luck!!!

anyone else still not got any morning sickness? I had it so badly with my last pregnancy; this time, none....it is fuelling my paranoia. Got other symptoms though, namely, exhaustion! and sore boobs. but exhaustion could well be psychological. seeing gp tomorrow and if she can't be persuaded to refer me for an early scan next week i'll go private. i'll be nearly eight weeks by then so it seems a good time to find out if everything is okay or not. i don't want to find a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks, that's for sure. miscarriage spoils the way you feel about all your future pregnancies. i just didn't see it coming last time and got such a shock so am determined to be better psychologically prepared this time.

lizzie9442 · 05/11/2008 18:40

I found with my pregnancies they were different, with my first 2 I felt sick all the time costantly and they were both boys. With my third it kind of came and went so I was the same wondering if something was wrong but she was fine and was a little girl so think that was why it was different. I have had 2 missed miscarragies also but you just have to try and be positive thats all you can do.

Acceber · 05/11/2008 20:20

Hi everyone - can I join in too? I have just found out I'm pregnant so think I am 4 weeks - which gives me a July baby. My syptoms include a dull ache in my lower belly, a little nausia and my sense of smell is amazing. Am also in shock and I don't quite believe it. My DH and I have decided to wait until 12 weeks til we tell anyone - it is our first baby

lizzie9442 · 05/11/2008 20:32

Hi Acceber I am only 4 and a half weeks to so also expecting a july baby. seems ages away but just want to get to the 12 week mark

Tinker3 · 06/11/2008 09:21

Silvermum - I have no nausea either - I know at least 4 people that have never had nausea or sickness with any of their pregnancies and had perfectly healthy babies... I just feel really lucky that I have no sickness (yet!) so that I can get on with life and more importantly, work! I hate, hate, hate feeling sick and so each day that passes with no sick feelings, I feel so happy! Thankfully, it's a TOTAL load of rubbish (and a horrible old wives tale) that if you don't feel sick that your pregnancy isn't as 'strong' as others.. the doctor I saw on Monday told me that! Relish in the fact you don't have it!!!

Hi Ladies, i havent has morning sickness as yet but doesn evening sickness count?? at 4pm each evening in feel so sick and utterly exhausted, so bad that i cant even thing about what to eat for dinner. In the mornings is when i feel at my best. I never had morning sickness with my DS so i hope i am the same this time round.

Acceber · 06/11/2008 19:00

Another day gone, another day closer! How is everyone tonight?

ladylush · 06/11/2008 20:27

tick tick tick .........time going so slowly. Feels like I've known for ages - I'm only 5 weeks!!!
Tinker - glad your scan went well

highrise · 06/11/2008 21:26

Hi,

Thought I'd join in, I'll be 6 weeks on Saturday, first pregnancy. We are very excited but also very nervous and hopeful that everything is going OK. Hard to know if what you're feeling is right! Symptoms so far are extremely tender breasts, sort of cramps in lower abdomen (nowhere like period pain, but kind of the same type of discomfort) and since last weekend, very nauseus every day all day. I can't stand emptying the kitchen bin, and the thought of going near our full fridge is too much(concerned husband bought everything in the shop!). I'm usually not bothered at all by smells.

I threw up once this week in the evening whislt driving!! Fortunately was only 2 mins from home, was so embarassed as it came on all of a suddden. Was actually kind of funny, but quite disturbing at the same time.

Good luck to everyone.

LacyLoo · 07/11/2008 02:15

Hello everyone!
I thought I would join in and have others to share my thoughts with. My husband and I just found out Monday I am pg at 4 weeks. As with everyone else I am nervous, anxious, happy, excited, ect. Slight cramping, tender breast but no nausea yet. I am looking forward to the weeks to come!!!

jellybelly100 · 07/11/2008 11:23

Tick tick, still counting down here! god 4 weeks till 12 week mark! can't bloomin wait. A week has been like a month.
I was saying before my belly was huge already but turned out it was bloating, has totally calmed down now (thank god!).

JLo2 · 07/11/2008 11:26

Hi all
Saw my little bean this morning which was FAB but the sonographer thinks I'm a week less than my dates suggest. That means I've got even longer to wait. Aaargh
