Hi there,

I am 4/5 weeks pregnant for the first time and really nervous about miscarrying - just want to wrap myself up in cotton wool ! Keep trying to quash my excitemnet but it's hard..

Hi all

I'm six weeks today and going to the doctors. Touch wood things are going alright, got really sore boobs and feel a little sick in the morning and around three.

Good wishes to you all

Hi Acceber

Hope everything goes OK. I am seven weeks pregnant but rather anxious as having suffered 3 previous mmc's. Do have a lovely dd who is nearly 4 years old who desperately wants a sibling so hoping things go well. Must admit I'm rather scared of going for a scan and wish that I could just to to sleep and wake up in six weeks time but will probably go to see the doctor next week. Good luck and hope everything go's smoothly.

Acceber · 16/11/2008 09:49

Hi all

The Doctor was lovely and said to me 'I'm so excited' and screamed. That was a little weird given it was the first time we met. She only took my blood pressure then said that the midwife will contact me in a few weeks.

Everything is going fine generally, sickness feeling increasing with more retching but no actual sick.

Looking forward to next Friday as will be 7 weeks!

LullyMummaOfOne · 17/11/2008 10:23

Hi Ladies, just to let you all know i had my early assessment scan on Saturday and everying is fine. I saw my little bean and the heart was beating really nicely. The yolk is present which is really good news as it means this is a health fetus. The yolk will turn into placenta in the next 4 weeks.

It was hard at firs as i was terrified of finding out ive MC again but so far so good and its really put my mind at rest.

Just another 4 weeks until the 12 weeks scan- bring it on!!

I was measured exactly the same as my dates so my EDD is 27th June!

Hope everyone is well x

feb80 · 17/11/2008 10:35

Congratulations Lully!

My scan is not for a few weeks. Do they change your due date then if the measurements don't match the due date the doc gave you?

LullyMummaOfOne · 17/11/2008 12:01

The Sonographer said to me that you cant really be sure of your due date until your 12 weeks scan. Then if your dates are slightly out by your measurments then you may have an earlier or later EDD. Although my bean measures the correct size for my dates this may change at my 12 week scan. Just another 4 weeks of waiting!

FEB08 will this be an early scan or your 12 week?

chaya5738 · 17/11/2008 12:02

Hi acceber,
I am also 7 weeks next Friday (21 Nov). It is nice to hear someone else who is due on the same date as me - 9 July.
All the best for everything.
Chaya.

Hello all:

Have I missed all the 4-5 weeks worrying??? Just had a BFP on Saturday making me exactly 4 weeks today. Last night I had horrible AF-like cramps across my back, my tummy and down the front of my legs. I had a mmc at 11 weeks in March, so of course I'm super worried. I remember feelying crampy the first time around, so much so that I mentioned it to the GP when I first saw her and she sent me for an early scan to rule out an ectopic, but I thought I remembered it being more of a tightening/pulling feeling than AF-like.

Really trying not to freak myself out though.

Hope everyone is doing well. Lovely to hear about all of the happy scans!

LullyMummaOfOne · 17/11/2008 13:09

Hi Lastboxoftampons, congratulation on you BFP. Try not to stress about the AF pains, i had these for a good few days when 4 weeks and i still get the odd one now. My GP said its all the stretching thats going on.

Have you been for an early scan this time round or are you going soon?

Good luck

Baffy · 17/11/2008 13:17

Hello all

So glad I found this thread - it's very reassuring.

I'm between 6 and 7 weeks. Think my due date is 10th July.

Sickness and tiredness has really kicked in this weekend. Today, I feel so sick and unable to face anything to eat, but I'm also really hungry - and I think that's making it worse! Anyone else like that?
Think I'm going to force myself to eat something and see how I go...!

lastboxoftampons · 17/11/2008 13:19

Thanks Lully I was told when I was at the EPU for my mc that they'd do an early scan for me next time around. I figured I'd try to get in around week 8, as last time I mc'd at 11 weeks, but LO measured 7 We had seen a heartbeat at 6+3, but I had had some spotting and I was sure it was bad news so I didn't want to go too early as I'd just feel it's a bit meaningless - especially if they'll only give me one scan.

Congrats on your scan! You must be so thrilled!

I was just imagining my boobs weren't as sore as I thought they had been and ~ahem~ nonchalantly (hmm) leaned on my folded arms on my desk to see. Um, OW! Yep, still sore!

LullyMummaOfOne · 17/11/2008 13:28

Oh i hope your scan goes ok for you. My GP wouldnt allow me to have an early scan althoug i MC in july at 8 weeks! So i went private and it was money well spent. When i MC before i was tosl there was no fetus just an empty sac so this time i got to see the little bean and heart flickering really fast. cant believe its the size of my little finger nail- thats really scary!!
Im just hoping from now until 12 weeks everything will be fine.

Talking of boobs, mine are agony. I cant sleep on my front anymore and event putting on a bra kills me! I was like this with my DS too, just another PG symptom!

BAFFY- Im also shattered and feel sick/rough most evening which stars about 4pm. I just try to eat little & often, i have found that satsumas really settle my stomach when feeling sick!

feb80 · 17/11/2008 14:20

Lully - it will be my 12 week scan (can't wait!) so perhaps I will be given a later EDD. Will the doctor and midwife update their records if the date changes?

LullyMummaOfOne · 17/11/2008 15:14

Yes im sure they will update everything that i needed. Keep us posted!

Oh just out of interest, how long in advance does the 12week scan come though. I will be 12 weeks on 13th Dec and wondered when i should reveive my date though the post? Not that im impatience or anything!!

lastboxoftampons · 17/11/2008 15:23

Lully - when I was pregnant earlier this year, I saw the nurse at the GP at about 5 weeks. I'm pretty sure I had gotten my 12 week scan date straight away after that. Maybe two weeks or so later? I knew I had already taken holiday for the scan date which was the Thursday before Good Friday, by at least 9 weeks.

feb80 · 17/11/2008 17:30

Same here lastboxoftampons (hilarious name btw! ). Hospital scan appointment letter came through 2 weeks after I'd seen doctor for first time. Lully - I would get on the case and chase your appt - you don't want to miss your slot before Christmas!

LullyMummaOfOne · 18/11/2008 09:24

Oh thanks Ladies, i only went to the Doctors to confirm i was PG on the 7th Nov so i will give it until next week then chase them. I have received my maternity exemption card for percriptions though so im sure my date will be throught soon for my 12 wk scan. Not sure what i will tell work though as i dont have any days holiday left, i dont really want to tell my boss about it just yet as she wasnt very helpful with my last one when i MC.

Tinker3 · 18/11/2008 12:28

Hey Lully - glad all is well!!! I too am worrying about 12 week scan (I will be 12 weeks on the 12th Dec!!) and haven't heard a peep yet re a booking time...???? .

OP posts:
LullyMummaOfOne · 19/11/2008 10:29

Hi Tink, good to hear from you. I wouldnt worry about the 12 weeks scan date as i spoke to my GP yesterday and she said they normally notify you with about 2 weeks notice. I will be 12 weeks on the 13th Dec so if i havent heard anything by the end of next week i will call.

My GP also siad to make an opt to see the midwife at 10 weeks, has anyone else heard of this as with my son my first antental check was at 16 weeks??

Phoenix · 19/11/2008 10:37

Hi i'm 5 weeks and mega paranoid

I had a booking in appoinment with my midwife around 10 weeks last time so it could be that

lastboxoftampons · 19/11/2008 11:00

Hi Phoenix I'm 4+2, so right around the same as you. Join in the paranoia!

Lully Our hospital booked us in for our 12-week scan and the booking in with the midwife all on the same day. I thought they needed to see you after you've had the scan?

Acceber · 19/11/2008 11:16

Hello

Just popping my head in to say hi. My GP said the midewife will ring me at around 8 weeks (a week on Friday - hurrah). Bit worried how she'll contact me as I work long hours and am never at home to answer the phone. I think I will ring next week if I haven't heard anything.

Also - this thread is great. I have no-one really to speak to right now given we are not going to tell anyone until 12 weeks. It is nice knowing that I am not the only one having these thoughts!

x

Tinker3 · 20/11/2008 12:37

Hello ladies - I am STARVING all the time now and I think satsumas are the BEST for taking the edge off it!!! I think I am having one every hour at least, that and 2-finger Kitkats - perfect!!!

I will be nine weeks tomorrow... So only 3 three weeks to go until I can 'breath out'!!!

Glad the thred is helping everyone!

Let's have some fun... what names does everyone like??? I believe in positive thinking, so why not eh?!!!

OP posts:
lastboxoftampons · 20/11/2008 13:34

Tinker hope the next three weeks pass quickly for you! (and for me too! )

Hmmm...names...
DH and I have always agreed on Tristan James if we have a boy (unfortunately, someone asked about it on baby names the other day and it got trashed - Oh, well, I know I don't really agree with many of the traditional names on MN anyway!)

Girls names are more up in the air, although we both like Francesca Catherine - would be after my dad who is Frank - couldn't bring ourselves to name a boy Frank, so think this would be a nice way to honor him

Also love Mia or Alexa and a bunch of others that are horrible with our surname - Maya, Mariah, Maddeleine, Lila, Layla, etc.

Tinker3 · 20/11/2008 14:40

Hello Lastbox I think Tristain is a nice name! Don't worry about anyone else! I went to school with a Tristan and he was a heart throb!!! However, we all called him 'Tris' which isn't so nice!!

Francesa is a lovely tribute to you

My DH loves William for a boy (I must admit, I quite like Billy for short!) and I like Hermione for a girl... Which most people don't like!!! I also like Tabitha for a girl too!

Is anyone going to find out the sex of their bean when the time comes?!!!!
