I saw her birth announcement a while ago (feb????) on her AN thread, but then she never came back here

taichimum has fallen off the radar as well.

I must've missed that jules, sorry. would be interesting to see though. I had a great expereince at jimmy;s with Emily and feel I should be telling the right people about it, as you hear so many tales of angst and woe. I couldn't fault them, and the PN care I had was second to none....except one MW, but most were just lovely.

Right am off to bed had a looooong day and got baby swimming in the morning.

Take care all xx

Morning all, beautiful day here.

Just caught up on the thread a bit after weekend away... Jules & Ronshar, really sorry to hear you've been feeling low. I can imagine it must be a really scary time. I think after miscarriage, we maybe also block out the reality of actually ending up with a baby in case we get too excited then it doesn't happen. So when it does hit you, it probably hits you doubly hard.... I dunno, but I really feel for you anyway, and hope that today is a bit brighter for both of you.

ZamMummy · 09/06/2008 19:49

A quick question froma first time miscarrier here hope no-one minds.

Heres the story so far (for those of you that havent seen it)

Found out had a MMC at 7+5 after some spotting- this was the 12th May. Bled all week then miscarried on the 19th may. Had a night in hosp due to heavy bleeding. scan showed lots of blood but no retained products apparently.....on 25th of may went back to hospital to have retained products removed and given antibiotics although swab showed no infection. Bleeding carried on, not heavy just steady and red then last week stopped. Had an internal scan last wednesday which showed all clear but nurse did a test which was positive. However went away for weekend with DH and had sex and bleeding started again, red fresh but has got heavier and have feeling like its AF (belly ache, headache). HOWEVER am still getting positive tests. Would it be AF if the tests are still positive??? or should I be worried?

Sorry for long post, just need some reassurance.

hope you are all ok.

07mumstheword · 09/06/2008 21:07

Mummytoolivia Sorry to hear about your MC I'm not too sure on my facts but just wanted to say that when I went to the EPU for MC I'm sure I was told that the PG hormone can remain in your system for a couple/few wks and therefore give a positive result on a test.
I hope someone with more knowledge turns up soon or you could ring your GP/NHS direct for advice. Take care.

mummy2olivia · 09/06/2008 21:10

I'm just wondering if the positive result means I cant get AF yet- cos I'm sure I have. If I cant then I am haemorrhaging I think!!

Will see how the bleeding goes for next day or two then go and see GP. Feels very much like AF to be honest. hope it is

elibumbum · 09/06/2008 21:56

Hello everyone - have just got back from a lovely weekend away. It has taken me a while to catch up with the thread!

mummytoolivia - sorry to hear you are still getting positives from your mc . I also think you need to get the docs to monitor your hormone levels. Do you have a follow up appt with the Dr that carried out your ERPC?

supersteph - good luck on thursday. I've got 8 days to go before my early scan. I'm really glad I had this long weekend away as it has kept my mind off things and 4 days have just flown by!

littlesquirt hello and congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS T Juice

JustJules, i have been keeping my eye out for your news too. Not long now

I have been looking for MrMc recently too. wondering how she is settling in with X

Singingintherain · 10/06/2008 08:10

Hi, I thought I might join in here. I think I am posted on too many threads. I have decided that I am most probably more comfortable here with others like me.

I am 35 with 2 dd's. I have a due date of between 1st and 10th February due to phases and the fact that I am only in second cycle since mc in March and are irregular.

I have to see my Consultant at 7 weeks for my first scan and are dreading it as I have been told that I have mc'd three times at the scans (I actully only mc'd twice, once was a false alarm and I went on for another 6 weeks to 15 weeks when I mc's for real).

There has been loads of pain and no pregnancy symptoms at all. I normally get a sore chest, but nothing this time, just loads of spots. I resemble my teenage years I am sure,

My Midwife does not want to see me until 12 weeks and I am sure I can not wait that long. I seem to be just clutching to the wonderful feeling of being pregnant while I can, just in case.

positive · 11/06/2008 10:33

Hi

hope you all dont mind me posting - I had been on the preg after miscarriage thread last year but stopped posting. whilst we were delighted being preg after a mmc nearly 2 1/2yrs ago now - pregnancy and me did not agree with each other very well! I found it so hard to tell people that I felt miserable when I was pregnant.

anyhow - the reason i'm posting is just to say that our baby son arrived heathly and well in April.
this thread was a godsend for me at the start of my pregnancy and i'm so glad to see that it is still on-going.

want to send you all positive thoughts and good vibes xxxxx

kd73 · 11/06/2008 22:24

Had NT scan today, hate the hospital right now. It revealed an elevated risk of downs syndrome . For my age it should be 1:351 but the adjusted risk is 1:120 . Choices are :-

Do nothing and hope everything works out ok
or
Have further tests which put me at greater risk of miscarriage

Whilst I know the risk is elevated by less than 1% and the overall risk is less than 1%, why is the risk portrayed as an elevated risk FFS. After all if you had the numbers which gave a 99% chance of winning the lottery wouldn't you be delighted. So why the hell do I feel like someone is tormenting me....

Sorry for the me post but has anyone else had an elevated risk and did they go for the amnio or cvs?

Thanks Justjules, I haven't been offered the full bloods!!!!!!!!!!

I think I need to speak to the hospital again and following discussions with a couple of friends and family members it appears that 7 babies born within the last 10 yrs have had the high risk markers but been normal that are known off!!!!!

tryingnottoobsess · 12/06/2008 11:00

Hi Guys,

Just to let you know that I'm out

Scan on Tues showed that the hb had stopped and I had ERPC yesterday.

Obviously I'm feeling all over the place, but as it is no. 3 they were pretty efficient and have already given us an appointment for investigations in 6wks (gynae dept of local hospital), which is something to aim for. And at the mo it feels quite a relief to have a break from trying until then.

As far as I can remember (I was a bit drugged when they told me) they'll do

  1. Bloods on me & DH for chromosome stuff
  2. Bloods on me for clotting disorders
  3. hormone tests on me
  4. scan me (can't remember why?)

If anyone has any tips on how best to approach the appointment, or anything else we should ask to get done (eg I thought DH would need to wank in a pot, but maybe that's for infertility, not mc?) I'd really appreciate it.

I've ordered that Lesley Regan book from the library, so that should have good pointers.

Thanks for all your support on this thread, it has meant masses, and I wish you all the best for healthy pregnancies and bonny babies

KashaSarrasin · 12/06/2008 11:08

Oh tnto I'm so sorry

I've "only" had 2 m/c but did manage to get a referral after the second, they took a full medical history and did some bloods to check for clotting disorders (came back clear) and did an internal. I didn't have a scan but did have one years ago to confirm my PCOS diagnosis, maybe that's why they've suggested a scan?

The one thing that did bother me was that the appointment was in the same place as the EPU (but a different time of day) where my m/cs were diagnosed, which I hadn't been expecting and freaked me out a bit while I was in the waiting room.

The Lesley Regan book is fantastic, full of information and very reassuring. Also the MC Avengers thread on here was a lifeline to me after my m/cs.

So sorry for your loss take as much time as you need to heal and we're all here if you need to talk.
