A quick hello from me.

Had my 20 weeks scan this morning and all is well and measuring normal

and it's a blue one
DS will be soooooo pleased.

WE were in two minds about finding out, but even I could tell what sex it was without the sonographer saying anything, although we did aske her to confirm it!

Jules, the final countdown for you.....how very exciting. Hope she turns for you

Hi everyone, i had a mc in january, and DH and I decided to give ourselves some 'time off'. Wouldn't you know it, but the first month we started ttc, BFP! Just hope it sticks....i miscarried at 11 weeks so it's going to be a long 7 weeks....

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 13:28

Hi ceedub
congratulations on your BFP and welcome to the thread. I hope your stay is long and uneventful

but feel free to rant and worry and stress all you like. We all know what it's like and can help you through it!

Jules, glad you are on the "home run", look after yourself and take it easy.

Have got my 20 week scan on Wednesday - can't wait to see baby again - congratulations on the blue one Lackadaisy - I want to find out too whether we are having a Gavin or a Stacey - but we arent going to tell anyone else - just nice for DH and I to have a little secret - of course I will spill it you all of MN though!!!

EmilyandLola · 23/06/2008 13:39

hello ladies - can i say ehllo, just found im PG at the weekend, very very ealy days about 3 weeks and ive got that pre-period ache feeling, just paraniod that i'll start to bleed

trying not to get too bored at work and keeping my mind busy.

boobs ache, feel sick, is it still too ealry for these symptoms to be real or are they all in my head?

I had a MC at about 6 weeks at christmas - did another test this morning, line faint but there if im going to lose it the lines would get fainter wouldnt they?

Im not going to bother with EPU as had bad experiences before, rather just wait and see.

Every time i go to the loo im so scared x

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 14:08

hi emilyandlola....and congratualtions to you as well.

Not sure about the lines.....I had faint lines for a good few days before it started looking darker.....it depends on what time of day you test and how concentrated the hcg in your wee is (ie whether you've been drinking loads or not)...a faint line is still a positive ime.

it is a very tense time, especially if you have had a previous mc.

We have a wee mantra on here; just keep telling yourself "healthy and well" whenever you have any worries or doubts. It seems to help

OP posts:
EmilyandLola · 23/06/2008 15:06

not that healthy and well, long story but off to see a cardiologist in the next couple of weeks, all and all pretty fed up.

Sorry this is supposed to be a positive thread isn't it?

Still got horrible cramps.

If i MC this early, i won't have to have a D and C wil I?

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 17:06

probably not E&L, but that depends on whether everything comes away or not. sorry to hear about the cardio referral and I hope things are OK.

sounds like you need a bit of hand-holding and virtual {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

DS is ecstatic jules...and has decided that Virgil would be a good name. As we were thinking of a middle name beginning A that would give the initials VAJ.....erm, I don't think so

We are totally stumped for a first name, but have the middle ones sorted.

Hi all!

Congratulations daisy! So pleased your scan went well can't wait to find out whether I'm having a blue or a pink one!!

Not long for you jules! Did you get some wellies yet? I saw some little red ones in woolies yesterday, dh had to pull me away!

Hiya Emilyandlola Congratulations!

A quick question - can feeling worried and stressed harm the foetus? Have a bit of a week at work this week and I'm having trouble sleeping, my heart's racing and I feel tearful and have butterflies all the time. Part of the worry is the worry that I'm harming the LO by worrying!! I just want everything to be o.k.
just want this week over

EmilyandLola · 23/06/2008 21:15

evening, had a pretty rubbish day - ive decided to stay at my parents house for a few days, my dad is away on business and i cant face being alone with a toddler, constantly feeling like I'm going to MC.

DD's dad and master impregnator hasnt contacted me once since i told him i was PG, oooh i could scream!

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:09

barbareeba, I think prolonged stress can have an effect on the foetus, but please try not to worry. My pregnancy with Ds was very troubled as DH and I were splitting up and had some very acrimonious times, but he was such a placid baby.

and with DD I had ante-natal depression and spent the first seven months in a permanent state of rage, throwing things at DH (maybe taking it out on him for not being there when I was pregnant with DS!) and generally running on adrenaline and she is also a happy wee soul (although she has a bit of a temper on her at times)

this pregnancy has been the tamest of all of mine and I'm betting that this baby will be the most difficult

DH has just given me a big box of chocs as a Happy halfway/good scan present. bless him

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:12

sorry you are feeling a bit low E&L. Is there any chance that he will come round to the idea? Let your mum spoil you and look after DD and try not to worry about the feeling of your AF bein imminent. This is quite common in early pregnancy as a lot of the hormones involved are the same ones as in your usual cycle.

OP posts:
barbareebaa · 23/06/2008 22:40

Thanks daisy,

So sorry you had such horrible experiences during your pregnancies. But thank you for your support and for sharing, I think you have helped me put things into perspective.

How lovely is ur dh for your well deserved box of chocs!! Enjoy

Oo - just felt a little wiggle! that's got to be a good sign

EmilyandLola hugs to you. I felt the same at the beginning of my pregnancy but AF didn't come and here I am... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

ronshar · 24/06/2008 20:59

Barb I think the fact you are worrying about your little bean is a good thing. Just remember to eat and drink lots of fluids. take extra vitamins if you need to and it should all work out ok.
Just come here and off load I find it takes away lots of my fears just by shareing with everone else.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 14:59

I agree ronny......it's easier to talk on here than it is in RL, you can just offload knowing others have been through it and understand where you are coming from . DH doesn't understand the worry that I go through every day and as such finds it difficult when I start fretting about something I was fine about yesterday.....I told him it's all right for him, he sees me in the morning, thinks "oh there's my pregnant wife"....trots happily off to work, comes home in the evening and thinks "oh there's my pregnant wife" and that's about the extent of him thinking about the pregnancy.....he isn't living it 24 hours a day or worrying what he'll find when he goes to the toilet.

Of course I try to remind him about it every minute he is awake and in the house, lest he even think about forgetting

Hi
Glad to see I am not alone. Had a miscarriage at the end of April. Didn't waste time TTC again and I am now 5 weeks pregnant but terrified that I will have another miscarriage. The next seven weeks are going to be the longest seven weeks in my life.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 17:50

Hi purlease and congratulations on your BFP

Have we "met" before? Your name seems really familiar.

Where you on November thread?

The girls on there will be really pleased for you

OP posts:
purlease · 25/06/2008 18:04

Have done the odd bit of lurking to see how everyone is getting on. Can't describe how much their support meant to me in April.

Not allowing myself to believe this is real yet.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 18:06

Can i tell them?....purlease????

OP posts:
purlease · 25/06/2008 18:17

Well I guess the fact that i'm posting here - it's no real secret .

I am wishing for the middle of August to arrive quickly and uneventfully...
