Not sure if those tags even worked

OP posts:
Nynm23 · 15/09/2025 16:08

thanks for setting up @dubkitten tags worked for me.

Re mat leave, I’m hoping to make it to December using what ever holiday I have left in December then starting mat leave around 35 weeks or so.

That will depend on how the rest of the pregnancy goes, I’d honestly go now if I had the option. I have a rescan next week where they are going to check the baby growth again - it was between 20-30 weeks with DC where her growth started to decline. Then another at 28 weeks. With how tired I’m feeling this placenta may be working at triple speed!

Jadeypie · 15/09/2025 16:40

Thank you for the tag!! @Nynm23 I just think pregnant women shouldn't be allowed to work at all hahah we should be allowed to rot in bed all day with boxsets and chocolate and a waiter hahahahaha xxx

Confusedmermaid1 · 15/09/2025 17:40

Thanks @dubkitten

I agree, I was moaning to my mum that maternity should be from the minute you find out 😅😂 I’m trying not to spend the whole time complaining but heartburn is well and truly here now and I’ve never suffered with it before so it’s an adjustment…

I am saving leave to go off on 15th Dec which will be 35 and a half weeks then maternity will start 12th Jan or whatever day that week they pick. I haven’t had a risk assessment which is mad really because I work in a lab and I also do lone working overnight and they’ve known about the pregnancy since I was like 8 weeks because they’re also aware of my previous losses etc. and I didn’t want any pushback about time for the EPU appointments. They are super supportive but not very official 😅

They’ve already messed my pay up for my qualifying period for working out maternity pay.. hopefully it will be resolved in this months pay and won’t actually impact anything.. got to love the NHS payroll 🙈

Same, if it was men who carried a baby maternity leave would start the minute they got a positive pregnancy test!

I have bed today and plan to do the same tomorrow. Toddler teething plus already exhausted is not the one.

Oh I definitely feel that. Now both DC (not including the one cooking, obv) are at school full time I’m very much enjoying being horizontal wherever possible on the days I’m not working. DD was 2 when I was pregnant the last time and I can’t believe how much I did with her if I was half as tired as I am now

dubkitten · 15/09/2025 20:06

I’ve a half day training course tomorrow and dreading it as my concentration levels aren’t what they usually are

OP posts:
Nynm23 · 15/09/2025 20:19

@dubkitten I know the feeling. Part of the reason I’m off work at the min, I just don’t have the concentration to actually contribute effectively.

I’m torturing myself watching Jamie Oliver, absolutely starving 24/7..well I’m not starving as I’m obviously eating myself out of house and home which is actually rather expensive at the min as I’m trying to focus on plenty of fruit veg and decent protein.

Henbags · 15/09/2025 20:32

Thanks for the tag 😊

TigerLily38 · 16/09/2025 08:26

Thanks for the tag ❤️ I'm currently poorly with a stomach bug, DH is away with work and feeling sorry for myself ☹️ baby is moving lots which is reassuring but still worrying! Just want the day to be over already and its not even 8:30 yet 😥 any tips much appreciated xx

Sunshinemoom · 16/09/2025 09:22

Thank you for the tag @dubkitten!

@Jadeypie all I feel like I’ve done this pregnancy is moan 😅🤣 I’ve already had so much time off work. Definitely helped with the 6 weeks holiday. Had another catch up with our occupational health and they already put me back on reduced hours and to rest. I was half expecting her to sign me off again yesterday 😅

Sorry to hear your poorly. If you can stomach it. Try get some lucozade sports in you? Or some hydration tablets so you don’t get dehydrated. Xx

Anything to help. Even if only able to drink a little of it. What I was recommended with my HG to try stop the hospital visits xx

PinkFlamingo888 · 16/09/2025 14:23

Finally got my 20 week scan today! I’ve been chasing for weeks and apparently it’s been booked in for today all along 🙄 luckily I will be able to make it and so will my husband! Can’t wait to see baby again ❤️

Oh aye!!! The lack of communication has been a show!! Glad you get to see baby today, hope all goes well xxx

Sunshinemoom · 17/09/2025 17:25

I think I’m crazy but I can say I’ve finished Christmas shopping 🤣 I’m going to my mums this weekend to wrap it all

WildFinch · 17/09/2025 18:15

Thanks for the new thread @dubkitten!
That is impressive @Sunshinemoom I haven't done anything for Christmas yet. I have finally bought some maternity bits off Vinted as I realise having to go into the office this week finding something weather-appropriate, office-appropriate, AND that still fits me is a challenge.
Hope the scan went well @PinkFlamingo888? Are you finding out the sex?

My cervical length scan with the consultant went well, she had no concerns after they told me it was only 22mm at the 20 week scan. She measured it at 43! Apparently my anatomy doesn't quite fit the mould so is making things tricky but a big relief all round.

peps2917 · 17/09/2025 20:34

Thanks for starting the new thread!

I’ve started sorting maternity with work - handed in my MATB1 form. I work in a school and my c section is on the 15th Jan so I plan to go back for 1-2 days on the 5th-6th so I get paid over Christmas and then officially start on the 6th of January - I will be 37 weeks by then - hopefully all ok! Obviously if I find it unmanageable to return after Christmas I won’t but that’s my rough plan.

My husband is away atm which I’m glad about as he’s poorly and I don’t want to catch it! He’s super run down and has been so moody too argh!

Is anyone here planning to do a baby shower or anything similar? I’m going to have a little gathering with friends just more as a last hoorah and I don’t know if I should do a wish list… I really don’t want people to buy us things we don’t need but also don’t want to seem cheeky. What do you all think?

TigerLily38 · 17/09/2025 20:37

I'm in the exact same boat @peps2917 - planning a small baby shower for late Nov (avoiding the Christmas chaos) and have made a list but not sent to anyone yet as I dont want to come off as cheeky! I just know with friends' weddings etc it was helpful to be able to pick things from a registry, see what had already been bought so I didnt get the same thing etc.... interested to hear what other ladies are planning/have done for previous babies! X

peps2917 · 17/09/2025 20:54

@TigerLily38 good to know mine will also be in November for the same reasons! But guess what.. you all know how I’ve had a moan about my MIL… she said she wants to come visit us soon to see me pregnant which is lovely and I said please come at the weekend as opposed to week as I get super tired in the evenings and can’t commit to dinners etc. They ended up booking to come on the same weekend as the baby shower without checking and my mum is already coming and I will be busy preparing for the shower and probs have to see my DH’s parents too. So annoying ! I wanted the gathering to be just super close friends and I want DH to be there too and I wasn’t planning to invite his mum but now it looks like I will have to… !!

peps2917 · 17/09/2025 20:55

Oh and they’re arriving on a Weds and staying until Sunday so they will want to do stuff in the evenings which I can’t commit to cause I’m so tired after work!!

All looking good thank you! It was so lovely to see them finally!
We’re not finding out the sex but I’ve decided it’s a girl 😂
Glad your cervix is measuring as it should be! There’s so much to worry about all the time in pregnancy!
