30th December seemed like a good birthday date to have from all the looking into I did with it (it was meant to be our section date) before little miss decided 15th December was a better birthday. She was 7lb3oz so not a bad weight at all for 37+1 and actually the heaviest of my babies… not that any of the others kept us admitted with jaundice issues like she has!

very much hoping we are able to leave hospital tomorrow if nothing else than because we apparently need to get some little presents for baby (still unnamed) so we won’t get questions from the older two about why Santa has forgotten her. Husband doesn’t reckon my “she hasn’t got a birth certificate yet so Santa doesn’t know she exists” line would go over very well 😅

Yeah what I’ve been looking into it looks good. Oh that’s such a good weigh. How is she getting on how? Were the kids excited to meet her?

I’ve got everything crosssed for you that you can go home tomorrow. Yes maybe just a couple little things so they don’t question 🙈🙈

has anyone had low b12 levels? So on top of needing iron infusion looks like I’m going to need b12 injections as well 😬

WanderWalker · 18/12/2025 21:27

@Sunshinemoom aw that is fantastic news that someone has finally listened to you! So glad you got someone who had some sense and sorted it out for you. Regarding the iron and B12. I had the same issue. I had loading doses of B12 every other day for just over 2 weeks and then have to have it every 3 months. My arms were a little sore, but I felt so much better after it kicked in (takes a few weeks). I didn’t need the transfusion for iron, as they put me on the tablets instead. You’ll feel so much better after having it.

@Thegirlhasnamechanged fingers crossed you get to go home soon and how lovely that you will all be together for Christmas 😊 haha Santa best get to work finding some little presents! 🤣

Gizmo1983 · 18/12/2025 22:03

Hi guys just had a catch up it’s been a busy day on the page. @Sunshinemoom so pleased you’ve finally been listened to and have a plan.
@Objectiontime heyvsweetvhow are you doing ?

I’ve had a look at the spinning babies and ill give it a go I have nothing to loose.
i spoke to the consultant who placed my stitch and he says if baby hasn’t turned itself then leave the stitch in and go for a c section. If she stays on the 3rd centile or above deliver at 38 weeks if she drops any lower then deliver 37 weeks. I have a scan on Monday and go from there. I just feel the sooner baby is out the better now xxx

@Gizmo1983 I'm good, thank you. Coming to end of 32nd week and still amazed it seems to be happening. Dont think I will fully believe it until bubs is here!
I get what you say about getting baby out as soon as is safe. Had a growth scan this week and everything seems okay so far. Still praying! 😁

Touch wood she’s absolutely fine. Her levels were high enough today that she was allowed to do a rebound test (so 12 hours not in phototherapy to see how her body takes it) and she’s just been taken for the heelprick for that now. If she maintained the level she had this morning then we should get discharged today all things being equal. Never expected to be so eager to find out the result of a blood test!

big kids loved meeting her. My little girl (7) was besotted and couldn’t get over how tiny and soft she was. Little boy (4) wanted to know when she could start playing monster trucks which is him in a nutshell 😂

Sunshinemoom · 19/12/2025 11:53

@WanderWalkerthank you. I’m so happy as well. Completely helped with the funk I’ve been in the last couple of days. Okay doesn’t sounds too bad. I’m hoping I hear from hospital in the next couple days to start the infusion and injections. I was on iron tablets but she said I’m too late in pregnancy now for them to make a difference and she wants to get my levels up asap before major surgery.

@Gizmo1983i hope spinning babies works for you. When are you 38 weeks? Hope your scan goes well Monday. I totally get that being so closed to the end just want baby here happy and healthy. These last few weeks definitely been a rollercoaster for everyone.

@Thegirlhasnamechangedoh that’s good. I hope she managed to maintain her levels so you can get discharged today. Nothing better than being home in your own space.

oh how lovely is that!! 🥰

TigerLily38 · 19/12/2025 14:59

Hi everyone, does anyone else have the feeling that the baby is going to fall out lol? 🙈 I'm 35+4 now and today I have to keep sitting down because the pressure on my cervix is insane, it hurts like a UTI feeling but I'm weeing fine and no pain when I go...its definitely more like the cervix pressure causing that feeling 🙈 all day I've had a weird feeling something might happen today and no idea why...hoping she stays put!!

Is this normal/has anyone else had this and baby hasn't made an appearance lol?

Yep have it every day its a bloody nightmare haha lightening crotch its known haha all normal. Always strikes when your in the shops or walking somehere and you have to stop dead in your tracks haha. Mines geared up loads lately but im 38 weeks. It makes me need to pee all the time aswell. So im afraid it wont be gping anywhere till the babies ere xxx

WildFinch · 19/12/2025 15:45

Catching up with everyone's news. So lovely to hear babies are arriving already and I hope everyone continues to do well.
I've still got 6 weeks to go so hoping I make it to January. I've got a dental hygienist and haircut booked for mid-Jan!
Anyone have any advice for sciatica? I overdid it in my last workout class and woken up with sciatica pain yesterday. Can hardly walk only shuffle. Anyone else have this?

Nynm23 · 19/12/2025 19:22

Girls I had my scan today, babe measuring 5lbs 4 already so definitely not a small baby here this time. The issue is the only date they had for my c section I’ll be 39+5 which has now scared me slightly as it has put a possible vbac on the table. I know vbac always on the table as you never know when labour will happen it just feels much more likely with that date than an earlier date.

Anyone any experience with a vbac?

I can’t remember who was also looking at tube removal as part of the c section - but I was given a leaflet that I’ve yet read but I’ll summarise when I get a min.

WanderWalker · 19/12/2025 20:12

@TigerLily38 yep I’ve had this from about week 32 and baby is still in there. I’m over 38 now. The pressure is awful isn’t it!

@Nynm23 sorry I can’t remember the reason for your c section, but if you are having an elective c section and you go into natural labour you can still have your c section. They just class it as a semi-emergency. You would call your labour ward if you have signs you are in labour and they normally bring you in. I think there are circumstances where they couldn’t, like if you’re labour is too established and it’s safer for baby to arrive (if you are fully dilated). I’m not an expert this is just the advice I was given by my consultant when I asked what happens if I go into labour before mine. It was also me looking at tube removal 😊

RealTealQueen · 20/12/2025 15:35

So much to catch up on! I’m also having an elective c-section on 30/12. It was that or induction and I didn’t want to be induced if he’s not ready to come yet.

im potentially being induced and im so unsure

I’ll be 38 + 3 if my section goes ahead 30th December

TigerLily38 · 20/12/2025 23:31

@Jadeypie @WanderWalker aww thank you this reassured me loads, I was worried baby was going to try and make an early appearance before my elective section! 🤣 only a few more weeks to hold on!

Defo agree about the lightning crotch and needing to pee all the time - so uncomfortable! Hats off to the ladies who work up to their due date, I'm sooo grateful for the christmas break so I can finish earlier than my mat leave!!

I can't believe we are all so close now, it's so exciting 😊❤️

Jadeypie · 21/12/2025 06:49

38+3 11 days to go and wow i am feeling it!!
Bump is like a rock dont think i have much water in there or baby boy is huge!

Started to get a few back pains or period type pains here and there so think body's gearing up for his grand entrance hahs. The lightening crotch is at its peak when I walk thank god the school runs have stopped hahs. Convinced my waters will break while out and about so have the feeling of just staying in and being by my partner (poor man's been neglected since I got that positive).

On a positive note the pgp is actually improving strangly enough! I dont need the walking sticks and im so excited to see and meet this little human 🥰

Yes to the sciatica pain!!! Also when I’d over done it.
I found the best thing was to keep moving but gently. There seems to be a fine balance between not doing enough and stiffening up and doing too much and flaring up the sciatic nerve. I’m 35wks today so also hoping to make it to end of Jan too!

peps2917 · 22/12/2025 08:52

@TigerLily38 we have pretty much the same dates! My ELCS is on the 15th also praying that baby stays in there but I am not convinced haha. Have you been getting braxton hicks? I had about 4 hrs non stop last Sunday I was so uncomfortable! But better now - think it’s cause I was dehydrated. Not long to go! Have you got everything ready at home?

Hope everyone is feeling ok and enjoying the festive period and congratulations to those of you that have already had your bebes!! Most of the girls on my antenatal group also have - I’m one of the last ones!

xx

Thanks @PinkSprinkleFairy I know what you mean about the balance. I've been walking more slowly and with smaller strides which has helped. It's definitely improved, as has my general pelvis pain so it's probably a good thing to continue.
When's your due date? Mine is 29 Jan.

I’m due 25th Jan 🙂

Hi all, just catching up - sorry to hear some of you are struggling.

I’ve been busy trying to get everything sorted in work, finished up today for maternity leave 😁😁

Have been getting a lot of back and hip pain the last few days, driving me mad.

Had my 36 week check up last week, all looking good. They prescribed something for the heartburn and it’s being a god send.
