Thank you @Moosey898

After being nervous all day. Got to see baby again at dating scan. Baby wasn’t playing ball at all had to go for walks and wriggle my hips. However, eveything is looking good. And I’m due 10th January. But with my planned c section looking around New Year’s Day 🙈

@Sunshinemoom yay that's lovely news! I can't remember if you said already, but how come you've got a scheduled c section? I want to discuss a scheduled c section for a number of reasons when I meet my consultant in a month x

I haven’t said before but my little boy got stuck and his heart rate kept dropping and they kept losing it. So this time I don’t want to go through that again I know the chances of it happening is slim but don’t want to take the risk. Yourself? X

Hi all I have had heavy red bleeding for the past week and was absolutely convinced I was having a miscarriage. This is my third child and I have never experienced bleeding during pregnancy before. The bleeding started last Tuesday and finally got a scan at the EPU today and I was so happy to see my little baby’s heart was beating away.

This is the third scan I have had due to bleeding but this time the bleeding was much much worse. The sonographer could see a ‘bleed’ in my womb but said it didn’t seem to be affecting the baby and she will check again in 2 weeks at my 12 week scan. She did give me a leaflet about ‘threatened miscarriage’ but just said for now at least all looks fine.

I feel absolutely exhausted and drained as well as still suffering with pregnancy sickness. I took today off work and might take the next couple of days to rest up.

Oh that must have been terrifying. A c section sounds like the right way for you for sure.
For me it's a number of factors, predominantly mental health related, especially because of my history etc. so would be an elective c section as it probably won't be deemed medically necessary (of course unless things change down the line!). I hope I have a consultant who is open to discuss my options with me, but I'm prepared to stand up for myself if I need to.

That sounds so scary no wonder you are exhausted! Glad to hear baby is okay ❤️
take it easy and be kind to yourself

Aw a New Years baby will be lovely 🥰

I had a similar experience with my first baby, which ended with an emergency c section. I ended up with a planned c section for my 2nd (was going to attempt vbac, but he was too
comfortable in there 🤣)…I just wanted to say it was a completely different experience to the emergency. I was obviously very nervous, but the room was calm, the staff were beyond amazing and it was actually a lovely experience 😊

Yeah it was so just don’t want to go through that again. I totally understand that. Have you spoken to your midwife about it? I know my midwife was really supportive and said she can help with the consultant if I got any back lashes for wanting one. Definitely stand up for yourself. Hopefully they will understand

Yeah I’m excited now. Oh thats good to know it was a completely different experience as that’s one thing I’m worried about will it be a high pressure situation like the first time 🙈

I remember feeling the same and so anxious, but honestly to reassure you it’s a completely different experience 😊 considering you are in theatre having a major procedure you wouldn’t think so, it was so calm and just a super happy environment 😊

RealTealQueen · 01/07/2025 12:18

@Moosey898

I would also like an elective c-section. Didn’t get chance to discuss it with my midwife yet but there’s plenty of time. Out of the last three friends I’ve known have babies, all three have had to have emergency c-sections and two of them nearly died. I’m already 40, overweight and stressed about the whole thing! I know it’s a long recovery process but really I’m sure I can put up with that.

lifebeginz · 01/07/2025 12:23

I had my scan yesterday - all looks well :) Also had to do the hip wiggle and roll about to try and get baby to cooperate. I looked at the screen and said !ah so YOU are the reason I have been feeling so unwell" lol

I’ve been having these for a few weeks 😓 really vivid and horrible. Feel real when I wake up and some put me in a terrible mood for the rest of the day!

enjoy your girls night 😊 x

Yeah this is exactly like me - I'm aware it's major surgery and the recovery is tough, but I still think it's the right choice for me. I think I'll discuss it with my midwife at my 16 week appointment, that'll be after another scan for me too so hopefully 🤞 things will still be going well.
