Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

@BrightLilacCat congrats and glad to know I’m not the only lurker dipping their toes in posting for the first time!

I’ve had a wickedly annoying morning trying to sort out any sort of referral for myself. I filled a form online for my GP at 8am. This is the only way to contact my medical practice they triage the forms then phone you to follow up (aside note having been a “patient” there 2 years the only time I’ve been to the building was to register and every appointment has been a phone call with a physician associate only never a gp). Only today instead of a phone call I got a text message telling me to google my closest antenatal clinic. Literally google it not even a direct link which has irrationally annoyed me.

So googled it that way filled out another epic online form for the closest antenatal clinic to me and despite adding my phone number and email address and ticking boxes I’m happy to be contacted this way… hitting submit lead to a screen saying with will contact you by post with an appointment time….

Maybe I’m being naive or something but I expected things to be easier than this for contacting the NHS especially in terms of it being a first pregnancy and not knowing what to expect or even half the time what to do yet.

Thank you. Congratulations to you too @DelurkingFromTheShadows.

That sounds so frustrating! My GP surgery sent me a text with a link to book in with the midwife. I completed the form but haven’t heard anything yet. It’s so tricky when it’s your first because you have no idea what to do or what should happen!

I've noticed we've got a lot of new positives lately! Just thought I'd attach the link for our WhatsApp group chat if anyone would like to join! Xx

@BrightLilacCat congratulations! You are probably due similar time to me :) it really varies from area to area but I know where I am, you can’t register with the midwives until 5 weeks and then they say they will contact no earlier than 8 weeks. For my 1st pregnancy, the booking appointment was around 9-10 weeks and scan was at almost 13 weeks. I didn’t get much notice for either of them but thankfully worked from home at the time and live near the GP and hospital

BrightLilacCat · 10/02/2025 18:37

Thank you @AutumnBump. That’s really useful insight. 😊 Based on LMP I’m 5+4 but I have short cycles and early ovulation so I think I’m about 6 days ahead of that. I assume they’ll book me in based on LMP. The text I was sent by the GP surgery to self refer could either be interpreted as I’ll have a booking in appointment at around 8 weeks or the midwife will contact me at around 8 weeks to book it in.

Cinnamonbunn · 10/02/2025 18:38

@BrightLilacCat congratulations!
This is my second and if I remember correctly from my first, I also had to google the self referral but could only do this once I was at least six weeks. Then I didn’t hear back from them till eleven weeks, I did call and prompt at ten weeks in the end as I was getting quite nervous knowing the scan needs to be done within a gestational window.

Walfig · 10/02/2025 20:07

Hi!

I have lurked here for years but yesterday got a positive test! So extremely early but still an October due date.. also requested to join WhatsApp.
1st pregnancy.

Just a note on what someone else has said… I also found it bizarre how little information I’ve been given. Called the GP today asked if I could speak to someone urgently because I work in with very strong chemicals and want some advice - they said ‘wait to hear from midwives in a few weeks’ 😅

With my first, I was 4 days late. With my current pregnancy with my second, I tested on day of and got my BFP x

How late was your period before you got BFP?? ✨✨

I got a faint positive 3 days before my period was due. I’d had cramps like period pains and sore boobs for 2 days and was convinced my period was going to come early. I was going away for work and we usually have a few drinks on an evening when away so I just wanted to check I wasn’t pregnant!

Mumzydarling12 · 11/02/2025 06:59

Hi everyone. Tentatively joining this thread. I got my BFP on Monday at 15dpo (would have gotten positive sooner but was too scared to test and see negative so waited until the date my fertility clinic gave). Tested again today at 17dpo and have two very good lines so feeling a little better but still extremely anxious. This is a much longed for pregnancy. After 17 months TTC, a chemical Pregnancy last year, a failed round of letrozole that had to be abandoned due to a cyst and now a successful round of letrozole, I can’t believe I’m actually pregnant. Our Estimated due date is 21st October! I’m still only about 4weeks 1d so it’s very early and I am (as is common with lots of women who’ve experienced infertility) incredibly scared that this will all go pear shaped. I keep trying to reassure myself with the usual things - you can’t control the outcome, the majority of pregnancies are successful, pregnant until proven otherwise etc. But I just feel so lucky and grateful and happy and I’ve spent a lot of time on TTC/Infertilty threads where women have had much longer/harder battles and several miscarriages etc, I almost feel like I don’t deserve this and something will go wrong. So hoping I can stay on this thread until the end and that I can get some reassurance in the mean time!

Welcome @pumpkinpatches22 I know that feeling so well, it's so hard to not doubt everything. Tentative congratulations on your positive after a tough year and wishing you a healthy 9 months.
I'm 5w5d now and just had one instance of light pink when I wiped, nothing since. Ive immediately decided it's all over but just trying to keep calm. We are due to go abroad next week so that is worrying me too. For those of you prescribed progesterone, was it oral or a suppository? I might try to get an appointment and or prescription tomorrow.
Hope everyone is doing OK!

pumpkinpatches22 · 12/02/2025 21:13

@Summerrose24 thank you for your lovely
message and reassurance. It really is nerve wracking. I also had the tiniest amount of light pink when wiping the day I found out but nothing since so assuming it was just hormonal as every single pregnancy app says it’s normal. Have you had many symptoms? Symptom wise, I find I am tired in the afternoons, have on/off nausea (and have had since about 9dpo), really sore boobs. But the main one for me at the moment is an achey lower back. I noticed this after my trigger shot and I’m noticing it again now since yesterday evening. Started off as a little niggle last night and was fine today but tonight it’s like a dull ache in my lower back. Seems to get worse in the evening (we’re on holiday right now so we’re walking a lot and driving a lot). It’s hard not worry that it’s something more sinister, but everywhere I’ve read seems to say it’s quite common in early pregnancy! So just hoping it’s ok and hoping it doesn’t get worse.

I am abroad right now (we found out on holiday) and honestly it’s been fine. Just been more careful with food as can’t be sure of the origins and checked that milk and cheese are pasteurised. If you’re going somewhere in Europe I find that they have lots of pharmacies and medical centres if you’re worried about healthcare access. I’m also on progesterone pessaries (Utrogestan 200mg twice a day). They’re inserted vaginally. I’ve been on them for just over two weeks (was prescribed from 1dpo) and they’re also fine. Can be a little bit messy but not as bad as I was expecting.

Sending you lots of baby dust for a happy and healthy 9 months!

sidsparrownew · 13/02/2025 07:25

Any older Mums here? I'm 43 🫣, I have 2 DDs, 5 and 7 years old. We've been trying for the last 2-3 years. Had a miscarriage over 2 years ago, had all but given up discovered I was pregnant Aug last year, sadly another miscarriage. So I hadn't even gathered my thoughts really and here I am pregnant again!! This pregnancy does feel different to the last 2 so I am hopeful! Last chance saloon!! 3 time lucky? I really hope so.

Jadeb103 · 13/02/2025 12:25

I tested using strip tests on the day my period didn’t show up and was negative, tested again after 6 days as was confused where my period was if I wasnt pregnant and had a very faint line (this was Monday) and each day since has been getting slightly darker but according to my LMP I should be 5 weeks 3 days pregnant and my line is still not very dark, is this normal or should I be worried?

Due October 2025
TheQuietestSpace · 13/02/2025 12:43

Hi all, tentatively joining. @IVFlife you and i have the exact same ivf dates, I'm 7 weeks today. I've requested to join the whatsapp group. X

MrsRobo23 · 13/02/2025 13:47

Hello,
IVF pregnancy here, had 5d blast frozen transfer on 22nd Jan, have my 7 week viability scan next Friday (21st Feb)
Really hoping everything is looking good.

Only had minor cramps no other symptoms which I don't know is good or bad?! My boobs hurt and are huge but taking all the hormones for IVF did that anyway!

My first pregnancy aged 36 so it's all new to me.

TheQuietestSpace · 13/02/2025 15:05

Lots of IVFers! Finding the symptom spotting very infuriating @mrsrobo23 because of the ivf meds, plus mine are definitely fluctuating. I do remember many panicked days with my daughter that they weren't sore anymore and she was ultimately fine so I'm trying to remind myself that it doesn't mean much!!
