Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

Update - @emmatcc1 you were absolutely right - we’re having a boy!!😊💙 He wasn’t shy about showing us either! 😂🙈

We already have our daughter who’s 13 months so we will be one of each, approx 19 months apart.

Should be fun and games for a few years🤣 but we’re looking forward to it! lol Now to think of a name lol! x

Edited

Congratulations! One of each and so close together that's what I always wanted but always had to wait! You are goijg to be busy mummy 🥰

Morning sickness - I think I’m week 16 / 17 (sorry second dc and I can’t keep track as I blink and three weeks have passed) but the morning sickness is still here. Feeling nausea every morning stil land vomitting a few times a week. Far far better than first trimester (vomitting all day unable to move) but it’s starting to bother me. I’d have thought it would have passed by now! It had for dc1. Anyone else? X
Edited to say perhaps it’s been worse cos
of the heat this week?

Me! 15 weeks here, only not being sick because I'm medicated. Didn't have the right medication for over a week though and things got worse again. I had HG in my last pregnancy, and I'm fairly sure I "have" it again, but it's much better managed this time because I knew to get onto medication as soon as possible.

One of my NCT friends had sickness until mid-second trimester and then miraculously felt better, both pregnancies. I needed medication until the end in my last pregnancy.

I’m about to lose my mind with this brown discharge/bleeding. After the initial bleed 3 weeks ago I had brown spotting for the next 2 weeks and when it finally started to taper off the dark brown blood appeared again. That episode lasted 4 days before almost clearing up when it started again. I had brown blood for a day and then it started clearing up only to start yet again today with the dark brown blood. I’m gonna get seen today just for a peace of mind. So far I’ve had 2 scans during this both not showing a reason as to why it’s happening.

fluffyprawn · 04/05/2025 13:15

Hope everyone has been well🤍 so sorry @emmatcc1 that must be frustrating and overwhelming to have no idea why it’s happening. They told me in my private scan last week that they were looking for potential bleeding (I hadn’t had any but they were double checking) so fingers crossed it’ll show up this time for you.

I still also have horrendous sickness constantly. The medication helps but I tried to dial it down lower than max dose and it came back will full force. I’m worried it’ll be here to stay all summer. To add to my worries - my blood results came back positive for hepatitis B…. When I called in a panic they told me it was a mistake and I am actually negative!!

Anyway we had private gender scan at 15 weeks and it’s a boy!!🩵 so excited as it’s the first grandson on both sides.

emmatcc1 · 04/05/2025 15:16

They now found a sch 5x1cm directly on my cervix so I’ll be spotting until it clears. I’m guessing the first bleed caused it.
Baby is all good a kinda looks like a boy from the pictures. I’ll share a pic when I get home se what yall think

emmatcc1 · 04/05/2025 15:52

Baby’s bottom is on the picture and you can se the legs crossed and the little foot. If you look between the legs I think it might be a boy or that’s something else.

You must be so relieved I'm so pleased for you. How many weeks are you now ? I can't make out from that picture where's what 🙈x

emmatcc1 · 04/05/2025 16:57

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit I’ll be 17 weeks on Tuesday.
I was starting at the picture for so long until I finally figured what I’m looking at.

It must be so hard for you to keep seeing the blood. Is this your first? When you feel movements that is going to be extra reassuring for you.
I still can't work it out I can see the foot but the other bits I wouldn't have a clue. Will you find out what you are having ? 10 days to go for my scan but I'm going to resist asking I want to have the surprise at birth keep me going !

emmatcc1 · 04/05/2025 18:47

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit I have a scan in 9 days and I’m dying to know the gender. If baby won’t cooperate and keep their legs crossed I might just cry, I really don’t wanna wait another 4 weeks to find out.
I need to know if I’m buying blue or pink clothes.

EEB1989 · 05/05/2025 18:59

We are waiting until the 20week scan (02/06) to find out the gender but I am desperate to know too…
Ive had all the old wives tales for a boy but my husband thinks its to throw me off the scent of a girl.

All my friends that have boys (3) have said my symptoms are the same as theirs. We have no preference.

Anyone who knows their gender already, were the old wives tales correct for you?

I do think the way you carry is a really good indicator but you don't get in to the proper shape indicator until you are 30 weeks which by then you would have found out anyway. The other sayings I don't feel hold much weight but I do think they are fun to use

I vomitted a lot with dc1 and it was a girl. Vomitting 50 x worse this time so we suspect another girl but we’ll see. We think by nub theory it could be a girl but unsure if that’s even accurate

emmatcc1 · 05/05/2025 21:39

@EEB1989 I’ve also had the classic boy symptoms and we’ll see in a week if those were right for me.
A lot of my friends with boys had the same symptoms.

Me too! I'm 18+5 and was sick this morning. Nausea has gone to be fair but yh if im not careful in the morning still it still gets me! 2nd baby for me too with my first i was fine after 12 weeks x

Superscientist · 06/05/2025 09:00

With my daughter I had hyperemesis in the first and third trimesters and intermittent sickness in the second. The third trimester was through summer and it definitely made the sickness worse/ harder to manage.

I'm wondering if this one is a boy too. I have had hyperemesis in my previous 3 pregnancies and barely any in this one. I have had the odd bit of nausea over the past few weeks but I'm carrying quite high so it feels like my stomach is under my ribs not giving it a great deal of space so I think this is contributing.

I have my anomaly scan on Monday so I will find out then hopefully!

Thanks both glad it’s not just me but @JMassey hope your not feeling too bad

@Superscientist I think the heat definitely made me go backwards last week. hope it stops before third tri!!

CustardCream31 · 06/05/2025 12:36

@emmatcc1glad they have found a reason for your spotting now… but so sorry you’re still experiencing it 😔😔 I’m in the same boat as you. Barely a day has gone past for the last 7 weeks or so without spotting/bleeding of some kind. It’s awful, and makes going to the toilet anxiety inducing!!

Keep strong. Baby is fine, and not long until finding out if pink or blue 🥰

emmatcc1 · 06/05/2025 13:48

@CustardCream31 Just wish I could enjoy this pregnancy without worries.
You’re still bleeding from the vanishing twin right? When is your next scan?
They switched me to a different progesterone that I now have to insert every night but I’m reading mixed things on forums. Some say it’s better to not take anything so the bleed can clear out. It was prescribed to me by the ob in the hospital and I see my ob next week. Hopefully the hematoma will be smaller and we also find out the gender.
I’m sick of wearing pads and checking for blood constantly.

I took progesterone until 13 weeks because it’s an ivf pregnancy. I took mine rectally because it was so much less messy and it didn’t cause vaginal bleeding. Could you do that? Might be worth asking your consultant because I agree with you that letting the bleeding clear would be good for you.

I am 14w4d and I think he’s sitting high because I have zero appetite. I’m two pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy. It’s like I’ve had a gastric band. I hope he won’t get stunted growth. Also still very tired so I’m dreading starting my new job in three weeks.

emmatcc1 · 06/05/2025 16:38

@Feliciacat I’m fine with taking progesterone that way but apparently it supposed to stop bleeding no matter which way you take it that’s why I’m a bit unsure.
I’ll see what my ob has to say about this since she doesn’t know about the hematoma yet.

I lost half a stone in my first trimester with my daughter and then lost weight again in the third because of sickness. I only gained a little over a stone in total. My daughter was 6lb 13 at birth (38+6) which was 60th percentile on my chart. Baby takes everything it needs!

Thank you so much for this information. It’s my first pregnancy so I’m disappointed in myself for not eating like a vegan Olympian like I hoped I would.

Hope everyone is having a good evening :)
