Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

@CustardCream31 thank you for replying. Sorry yours was bad too but good to hear it’s not just me with it lingering. I didn’t have it at all in my last pregnancy and was not expecting it this time 😂

I had my test for gestational diabetes today and the results were clear! I will be retested at 24 weeks but I'm just glad for now I don't have to worry 😊

@BeSunnyPinkBiscuit great news! That's so early for a GTT test, isn't it?

I've been majorly struggling for the last week or two. Xonvea has helped with some aspects, but I've been increasingly struck down with reflux, so now also on omeprazole. Only a couple of days in, so not yet feeling what I hope will be the full benefits, but now at least seem better than I was a week ago. Not looking forward to my return to work next week, though I think that's more because I have huge anxiety over the 12 week scan that's on my first day back 😔

It's because I have had it in my last preganancy so they test at 16 weeks and then if clear re test at 24 weeks. I have polysistic ovaries and that is a marker for GD although it's a relatively new discovery as I wasn't tested in my first 3 pregnancies so could have had GD and not even known 🤷‍♀️
It's always a worry waiting for the 12 week scan 💕 hopefully the week will go quickly for you

We had our dating scan today. They said I am 12+4 and gave me EDD as 26th October. They said CRL & NT measurement is all normal. Awaiting blood test results now. I had an reassurance scan on Monday and baby was very active , giving a wave, kicking and stretching but today was calmer. He did moved a little but not as much as last time. They said its all normal though. Keeping my fingers 🤞.

Hi everyone and happy Easter! Hope everyone is well. I had my dating scan a few days ago and baby was very active - sonographer said she thought it was a boy. I was a few days further along than I thought! Still on Xonvea and my sickness & exhaustion has not yet left at 13 weeks.

I haven’t yet had results of bloods or urine from either midwife appointment 2.5 weeks ago or bloods taken last week. It seems that everyone is getting them at different times? Can’t see anything in my NHS app and haven’t got an email or a letter. Hoping they haven’t been lost!

Congratulations :) I was dated a couple days ahead too for both my DCs. Wonder if anyone is ever dated a few days behind?
I haven’t had my results for my bloods back either I think for dc 1 it took two weeks, but someone said earlier on this thread they call if results are high risk so probably the delay is a good sign xx
how did the sonographer know it’s a boy so early?

@fluffyprawn I'm on paper notes but when I went for my dating scan the midwife updated my notes with the results from my booking appointment blood tests. I can also see them when I log into my patient access account through my GP.
It took about a week, no more than 10 days for the results of the combined testing results to come through.

@Givemethesunthank you! That’s very helpful, thanks. She showed us the ‘nub’ and said if it’s pointing upwards it usually indicates a boy, and ours was quite significant so she made her guess! It’s not 100% of course and we’ll get a gender scan in a few weeks! X

Oh I'm quite intrigued by the nub theory although is anyone good at recognising them I don't really know what I'm looking for. Can you do photos on here for people to guess ?

Yes, when you post a reply then you can click the camera icon to add a photo. I think I’m not too bad at nub theory. The baby should ideally be on its back though otherwise it’s hard to see.

I was met to say although....I don't want to actually find out I just love guessing and I have also see the image bit I will upload mine if anyone wants to guess

I’d say girl from that. I’m not infallible though so if anyone else wants to guess that’d give a clearer answer.

So I'm taking that the nub is where the white cross is ? I think i would say boy as well. How many weeks were you at the scan picture ?

Yes, it’s basically where the genital bud would be. If it’s at an angle then it’s likely a boy. If it’s parallel to the spine then it’s likely a girl. Or something like that!

Aw! You’ll have to let us know if the nub theory was right if you do find out the gender later on :)

@Feliciacat I’m usually good at nub theory but not with my baby because the nub looks parallel to the spine but it’s pointing up but I’m also leaning more towards boy.

@Givemethesun we find out the gender in 3 weeks and I’ll definitely let you know the outcome.

I am also still waiting for my combined blood results. Had them done 2 weeks tomorrow but guessing with the bank holiday there’s a small delay. If I have not had them by Friday I’m going to chase them up.

Had more bloods done this week as the exhaustion has come back with a vengeance after what felt like a respite in week 11/12. I’m iron deficient but not anaemic so they won’t give me iron tablets so relying on Spotane to hopefully help. They also said my white blood count was slightly raised, which apparently is common in pregnancy anyway but it’s still made me worry in case I’ve got an infection somewhere. I’ve felt pretty rough this weekend - exhausted, lots of round ligament pain and and back ache and headaches. Plus a stuffy and irritated nose. Hoping it’s all just hormonal and not a cold or flu or anything worse like Covid. Also may be feeling worse because we’ve been away with family and it’s been full on. I thought second trimester was supposed to be easier 😂

I was totally looking at the wrong bit! Wow the circled bit is so clear for a nub but now I'm not sure. A lovely baby which ever way! X
