Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

@SkaterChick I’m the opposite have been having diarrhea since day 1 and I’m 7weeks tomorrow

Oh gosh the constipation is starting 😭😭😭 4w4d today. Thought I had longer.

I've had constipation since before I tested positive. It was one of 3 things that made me test early. It sucks big time, but every time I manage to go to the toilet, I panic that I'm not constipated any more 🙄😆

Is anyone else having #2 and already having back/hip pain? It's been niggling mostly, but last night I woke up in agony and had to roll over to my other side!

fluffyprawn · 27/02/2025 13:13

Just had a scan and it's not ectopic! The cramping is still terrible though. There is a visible gestational sac but no embryo visible - this is normal at 5+1 right? Wondering if anyone else has a scan this early?

I'm having flashbacks from my last mmc where she couldn't see an embryo at all at 7 weeks...

emmatcc1 · 27/02/2025 13:27

@fluffyprawn That’s great news! Not seeing a fetal pole at 5 weeks is very much normal and expected.

Hi all,
Hope it’s all going well!

I’m meeting my midwife on Wednesday for the first time and I’m just wondering if husbands can come to this? My husband is very supportive and wants to be as involved as he can every step of the way but I don’t want to bring him if it’s not the done thing!

I had my first appointment yesterday and took my partner, the midwife was more than happy to have us both there. Tbh I think it’s nice to have the support there if you have it as it’s a long appointment with lots of questions about your health and family history. The midwife will probably take you to another room for some tests and she will ask you privately about your safety as well :)

Thank you so much, this is super helpful. I guess he’ll be coming with me 😊

Good luck! It became very real when I went to the appointment of oh god I’m going to have my baby here 😂

CustardCream31 · 27/02/2025 21:32

Oh god, I literally said to husband a few hours ago "well, we are now further in than before when the bleeding started" for my mmc in Nov. Just been to the loo and have significant brown discharge when wiping. Life is cruel. I feel like my gut feeling I've had is proving me right and this is the beginning of the end again 😖😖 cramps have been ramping up again but I tried to calm myself and say it's normal (as advised by doc yesterday.....). Feel so so sad.

Figtree11 · 28/02/2025 06:38

@CustardCream31 i’m sorry, I really hope it is nothing. But I know that panic all too well after going to the loo. I’ve had brown spotting since Wednesday. Mine seems to have eased off for now but I am expecting the worst at my scan on Tuesday following previous miscarriages. How are you doing this morning?

fluffyprawn · 28/02/2025 06:49

@CustardCream31 I'm sorry... although brown blood means old blood right? Seems to be common to have some spotting - could be sunchorionic hematoma (and I've had terrible cramping)

CustardCream31 · 28/02/2025 07:43

@Figtree11 @fluffyprawn thanks ladies. Sorry you're both having an anxious time too. Seems so unfair when people can just breeze through pregnancy without a worry! 😫 the waiting between scans and appointments is awful.

Still have brown spotting this morning when I wipe... cramps are deffo there but not "painful", per se. But noticeable for sure, and feel different.
I had a SCH last time with my mmc. It started similar to this.... I've got a private early scan booked for Weds evening (my local EPU refused to accept my GP's referral earlier this week because I'd "only" had one MMC...). I know I should contact my GP to ask to be referred again but I just feel so terrified and so upset to be a part of that system now and juggling work and childcare around attending crappy appointment times that are always at least 45 minutes late whilst feeling beyond anxious in that setting. Sorry I sound hypocritical and unreasonable now... just so exasperated with how shit my luck is with everything in life!! Maybe I should log it with GP though and perhaps ask for bloods and progesterone... I don't know 😢

Figtree11 · 28/02/2025 07:56

@CustardCream31 thats so bad the EPU won’t see you! After my first MC I was told the next pregnancy I could have a reassurance scan with them at 8 weeks, or at 6 weeks if I had bleeding. It’s really bad it’s not a standard rule across all EPUs.
Yes I totally agree how unfair it can all be. I’ve had cramps too but not overly painful, have just been using a hot water bottle when it feels uncomfortable. Sending you all the luck for the scan on weds. The waiting is torturous. Not quite sure how I’m going to find the courage to walk into my scan

EEB1989 · 28/02/2025 08:10

Morning Everyone,
I’m currently 7week 2days. I only told my GP on Monday - I self referred on the NHS website at 5weeks but I didn’t know I had to tell my GP too.

My question is - when will they get in touch with me?
Also, what are your symptoms at 7week ish? I’ve sore boobs, thirst, slight bloat and hunger but very little symptoms. If it weren’t for the boobs and bloat I’d question if I’m really pregnant!

Hope everyone is ok x

emmatcc1 · 28/02/2025 08:20

@EEB1989 I’m 7 weeks today and my symptoms are sore and bigger boobs, tiredness, mood swings, nausea (especially in the morning and night) and constantly gagging at everything, always hungry and thirsty, food aversions, soft stools, a lot of bloating.

I agree 😣 the postcode lottery for healthcare is shit. I've just done the eConsult for my surgery to ask for referral again and bloods snd progesterone. Don't ask, don't get....

I totally hear you, and am here for the hand hold for you on Tuesday. Wishing you so much luck and strength until then 💫

pumpkinpatches22 · 28/02/2025 10:16

@EEB1989 @emmatcc1 I’ll be 7 weeks on Sunday. So far most noticeable are sore boobs, mild nausea and exhaustion. Nausea definitely comes in waves. I tend to dry heave quite badly in the morning when my stomach is empty. Then I get waves of nausea in the day but usually because I’m hungry and I’m literally hungry all the time. It’s worse on the dog walk because the sight/smell/proximity to dog poo makes me violently heave and it has made me throw up once. Nausea definitely gets worse in the evening. Do feel like my symptoms come and go throughout the day and from day to day which makes me anxious. Today for example I haven’t been dry heaving but the nausea is there. I get quite a bit of reflux too. Exhaustion kicks in from
about 3pm every day and I need to nap for at least an hour plus I get 8+ hours a night. Sore boobs were really bad last week and start of this week but seem to be easing off. Although they’re aching at the moment. I worry when I don’t have symptoms and worry when I do have symptoms. Got an early reassurance scan next Thursday so just hoping everything is ok.

Hope1986 · 02/03/2025 11:21

Hi all,

I’ve been mostly lurking because I’m so anxious, but I have my 6-week scan tomorrow, and I’m feeling a mix of emotions—hope, anxiety, and fear.

This is my fourth pregnancy, but I have no living children. With my first, things started to go wrong at the early scan when they couldn’t see a fetal pole, so I can’t shake the fear that history might repeat itself.

I’m just looking for some reassurance that I have every reason to stay hopeful. So far, I’ve had sore breasts, waves of nausea, and I’m absolutely exhausted by the end of the day (and honestly, most of the day too). I’ve had a dye stealer (I know, I don’t always practice what I preach, but the anxiety got the better of me), I’m constantly starving, and I haven’t had any severe cramping or bleeding.

There’s more evidence for positive news than not… right? Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar boat.

Figtree11 · 02/03/2025 12:17

@CustardCream31 thanks so much. How are you doing?

@Hope1986 just a handhold from me for your scan tomorrow. This is my third pregnancy but I have no children. I have my scan on Tuesday, but I’ve had some spotting so preparing for the worst. All your symptoms sounds like everything is progressing how they should so I wish you all the best for tomorrow

Hope1986 · 02/03/2025 12:26

@Figtree11 Thank you so much for the handhold, it really means a lot. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too—it’s such a hard place to be, balancing hope and fear. I’ll be thinking of you on Tuesday and really hoping your scan brings good news. Spotting can be so scary, but I’ve seen so many stories where it turns out to be nothing to worry about. I really hope that’s the case for you too. Sending you all the strength and hoping we both get the best news possible. 💓

CustardCream31 · 02/03/2025 13:14

Hi @Figtree11 thanks for checking in, been thinking of you too. Still got some minor spotting on and off. Just can't shake the feeling of doom for this one too 😔 EPU are scanning me in the morning thankfully... so not as long to wait and will cancel private one on Weds. how are you doing? Still spotting/cramps?

@Hope1986 hello, I'm really sorry you're having such an anxious time. I totally empathise... hope all goes well tomorrow. Let us know how you get on. Got everything crossed for positive outcomes for us all. 💫

Sunshine924 · 02/03/2025 13:17

@Hope1986 @Figtree11 @CustardCream31 I'm also going for a scan tomorrow. Mine is due to the bleeding I had last week. I'm sorry I can't say anything helpful or reassuring but we are all in the same boat ♥️
I've got awful flu so in some ways that has distracted me the past few days (well and given me a new anxiety about having a raised temperature)

@Hope1986 @Figtree11 @CustardCream31 @Sunshine924 wishing you all the best for scans this week! I'm having brown discharge again today - hoping it's just doing a bit too much yesterday and it goes away. I had some about 10 days ago after I'd had a very, very busy day the previous day, so I'm keeping everything crossed! If not, I'll phone my GP on Tuesday as I'm 6 weeks then and see if they can reassure me in some way.
