thanks @CatCaretaker!

and congratulations @RedRobyn2021! Hope you are both doing well. X

LilyJessie · 26/12/2024 21:19

Thank you so much for the new thread ☺️ 🤗

I'm still pregnant 🤣 40+3 today! I am having no twinges or signs!

Gonna try for another sweep Monday and if not, induction next weekend.
Come on baby! I'm sooooo desperate to see her.

How are all those who are still pregnant?
And how are everyone's little babies doing?

@RedRobyn2021 -
So many congratulations 👏🏼 so very exciting!! How are you all doing?

CatCaretaker · 26/12/2024 21:46

@LilyJessie still pregnant, 39+3, doing fine except for occasionally swollen feet 😂. Happy to have had Christmas day, and feel like whatever happens now is fine. If I can avoid induction that would be best, but time will tell.

No signs for me either at 38+5. This is when I went into labour with my first as well, so kind of expected some kind of sign by now.

I’m just glad Christmas is out of the way now. Would ideally like to go before NYE as it’s looking a bit iffy with childcare as my parents and in law’s will be 1.5 hrs and 2 hrs away. So hoping we won’t need them that quickly if anything does kick off, but the next few days would be better!

Layla8926 · 26/12/2024 22:51

Congratulations to all who have had their babies!! Those still patiently waiting like myself.. does anyone know after losing your mucus plug how long/ short it can it be till I expect to have some more signs/ movement? 40 weeks today and not due to see my midwife for another week and if still no movement induced on 07/01 at 41 + 5.

MaybeBaby2024 · 26/12/2024 22:59

@Layla8926 have you lost your plug?

With DC1 my waters went not long after the plug, but I was also having mild contractions by that stage.

@Firsttimetrier Im also now past when my DC1 was born (39+2) currently 39+4, I really don’t want to go into the new year either. Due date is Sunday.

Yes first thing this morning my mucus plug went when I woke up. Since then I’ve had mild period like cramps all day on and off and currently they are 5 minutes apart lasting around 40 seconds. My waters haven’t gone though!!

MaybeBaby2024 · 26/12/2024 23:48

@Layla8926 I would say you are in early labour then. Are the cramps getting closer together/ more intense?

Hi @Layla8926 i went through that for a week before waters went
good luck!

RedRobyn2021 · 27/12/2024 03:27

Those with their babies, how did you find night 2?

DD has been up all night crying unless I'm holding her and can jiggle if she becomes unsettled

I've tried co-sleeping she won't lay next to me, she becomes really distressed

She also has bad bum gas

I'm exhausted and worried there is a deeper underlying problem

My midwife did say she could become unsettled tonight. I don't remember DD1 ever doing this

I wouldn’t say anymore intense just yet but definitely following the same pattern of 5 mins apart lasting now between 40-60 secs each time. I hate the unknown and being a first timer not knowing what to expect haha!!

Oh wow! Thats good to know though, I won’t get my hopes up just yet then that anything is that near😂

MaybeBaby2024 · 27/12/2024 10:04

@RedRobyn2021 are you breast feeding? I found this with DC1 but turned out his latch wasn’t good and he wasn’t actually getting anything when I was trying to feed him, hence the fussing and not settling.
Are you at home or still in the hospital?

Yeah breastfeeding

I had her at home so we've not been to the hospital

I think she is getting some because she pooed about 6 times yesterday, the meconium was starting to turn greenish. But now she hasn't pooed all night, she's just farting all the time. I keep checking her nappy thinking she's gone but she hasn't, she's just really gassy

Last night was awful we're all exhausted

She's not latching very well atm she keeps slipping on the nipple

If they’re every 5 minutes, I would ring the hospital to explain…something I’ll definitely do sooner next time! I had a bloody show around 10am with mild regular cramps throughout the day (weren’t overly painful but were regular). By the time I got to hospital, I was almost 8cm. Also a first time mum who had no idea what I should have been expecting. Good luck with everything ❤️

MaybeBaby2024 · 27/12/2024 10:24

@RedRobyn2021 when is the midwife coming back to see you? I would ask them for help with getting baby to latch properly. Is she having wet nappies?

She had 2 wet nappies all night

I've not changed her now since first thing this morning, she's still farting but much more settled. I've actually put her down

The midwife said she'd pop round to see me today, hopefully she'll be here soon and can help with the latch and how to hand express

RedRobyn2021 · 27/12/2024 14:29

She's done 2 enormous poos

All is much better with the world, amazing how happy a poo can make you

MaybeBaby2024 · 27/12/2024 22:11

@RedRobyn2021 that’s good she’s a bit more settled now.

@Layla8926 how are you getting on?

Firsttimetrier · 28/12/2024 08:21

I’m 39 weeks today and woke up last night with period pains and mild contractions. They started to get a bit stronger then died off as I managed to sleep.

This is what happened with my DS, for two nights until my waters went, so I think I’m in it for the long haul.

Only problem is that it’s very hard to rest with a toddler around but DH is being great and trying to do as much as he can so I can rest, even though we’re in the peak mummy preference phase.

Off for a walk in an hour with friends, so hoping this will get things going again! 🤞🏽

LilyJessie · 28/12/2024 08:34

@RedRobyn2021 - Great news, how're you getting on?

@Firsttimetrier - I will be 41 weeks on Monday and not so much of a whiff of anything starting any time soon.
Woken up a bit grumpy today...
Doesn't help that my wonderful nan passed away yesterday (long battle with Alzheimer's and very expected), but I was really hoping by some miracle I was going to be able to make it before she died and they could at least be in the same room... Sadly wasn't meant to be... but that's a part of life I suppose.
Fingers crossed your walk helps 🤞🏼 xxx

Firsttimetrier · 28/12/2024 08:38

@LilyJessie I’m so sorry to hear about your Nan, sending lots of well wishes. X

MaybeBaby2024 · 28/12/2024 10:21

Condolences @LilyJessie that’s difficult at this time of year.

39+6 today and so fed up! Getting little cramps but they only last for an hour and then stop. So frustrating.
