Unfortunately, as of this evening, I'm also out. I went for my NIPT test this evening. I'm 9+5 but baby was measuring at 7 weeks and no heartbeat. Back to the EPAU tomorrow to officially confirm miscarriage. Shocked and upset as I've had no symptoms and still feel pregnant.

Beat of luck to everyone on this thread. I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies x

How awful I'm so sorry 💔 hoping that tomorrow goes as well as it can. We're here to chat whenever x

Tadpolecat · 21/01/2025 21:50

@SureLook I'm sorry you are going through the same as me - feel free to pm me if you need to chat.

Tryingfor3rd · 22/01/2025 07:53

@tadpolecat @surelook Really sorry that you're both going through this. Please take care of yourselves and hope you both have support x

Has anyone else experienced a random hopefully one off very small amount of pink spotting?

I'm talking such a small amount I could have easily missed it. Typically after my lovely 10 week scan (which was abdominal) on Monday morning, then in the evening I went go the toilet and wiped and had very pale pink spots on two wipes, I'd say each smaller than a 5p coin. Nothing on my pants and thankfully nothing since. It may well have been a spot or something but I've been very lucky not to have any bleeding since my light implantation bleeding early on so panicked a bit.

I told myself it's such a small amount and I'd monitor it and obviously if I had any more I'd call the midwife team or if it got heavier I'd contact the EPU. But thankfully as I've had nothing since I'm thinking I just mention it to the midwife during my appointment next Friday. I've taken a photo of it to share with them but also it's quite reassuring to look back at to see how it's such a tiny amount.

@strawberrylaces12 at 7+4 I had very light spotting, I’m also on progesterone which can cause it from cervix irritation, I went for a scan at epau and it was fine they couldn’t see a reason for bleed, so just said it must have been cervix irritation

Thank you! I've not been on progesterone as my level was good at transfer but I did read about things growing and more blood flow/getting more irritated so maybe that? I think the unknown with all of this journey is hard isn't it 😅

@strawberrylaces12 its strange because I’ve literally just been to toilet and had a few bits of spotting again, it seems to have timed with when I’ve strained to to go toilet due to constipation (sorry tmi).

it’s the same type of spotting as before but a few more spots of it, I’m in two minds whether to ring epau again in the morning, as when I had the scan last week for the spotting everything was fine.

Ahh how annoying. Don't worry it's not tmi! I've also had constipation for weeks but when I spotted I didn't have a bowel movement then and hadn't since the morning I don't think. I would imagine yours probably is linked to straining, I had read about that when I was doing the inevitable Googling. Might be worth calling them just to check, I'm sure they'll be able to reassure you! If you do get through to them will you update me on what they say (only if you get chance) please? Hopefully it's all just nothing and completely harmless 😊

@strawberrylaces12 I had this the last couple of weeks on and off, was scanned today (10 weeks) and I have a small subchorionic hematoma which hopefully reabsorbs itself. Did they mention anything like this in the scan? Mine was internal though so was pretty clear even though it was small xxx

Did you have much spotting and many times? Much time in between spotting? Nothing was mentioned at my scan on Monday (also 10 weeks) or the internal one at 7 weeks. If I have any more spotting I'll definitely follow it up. But thankfully nothing since that one occasion on Monday evening. I bet you were pleased to find out the cause 😊

Gemmaemilyx · 22/01/2025 21:25

@strawberrylaces12 no not at all! It happened 3 times when I went to the loo (probs constipation & straining) and then again yesterday without rewson. All have been over the last 2 weeks and only lasted for less than an hour each time. Very subtle that If I wasn’t checking I wouldn’t notice! I also had an internal at 7 weeks and nothing was mentioned xxx

DragonflyRuby · 23/01/2025 08:56

Hi all, feeling pretty shell shocked at the moment. We had our NIPT result back yesterday which showed High Risk for Trisomy 18/Edwards syndrome. I have my NHS 12w scan tomorrow (I’m 13w) so will hopefully know more then but likely I’ll need an amniocentesis to find out for sure unless there’s very obvious abnormalities on the scan. Praying that it is an unusual but not unheard of false positive.

SureLook · 23/01/2025 09:26

I've my fingers crossed for you @DragonflyRuby, best of luck x

SureLook · 23/01/2025 12:08

Finally managed to get through to the EPAU after hearing nothing from them yesterday. I'm booked in next Wednesday for a scan. From what I've read online, leaving you a week seems to be the norm. I think it's to confirm no further growth or development. The woman on the phone said I don't need to do anything or bring anything like an overnight bag. I assume it will be just a scan to confirm and then discuss options.

OneGladTiger · 23/01/2025 18:39

@DragonflyRuby sorry to hear this, must be a very worrying and stressful time for you, I really hope you get some good news.

I’m so sorry @SureLook and @Tadpolecat ❤️ sending you both so much love, look after yourselves xx

Has anyone had piles during pregnancy? Currently getting blood when wiping after going for a number 2 (sorry tmi) it’s definitely coming from the back not the front, and I’ve been to GP who confirmed it’s what I have. But seeing any blood going to the loo is still worrying for me 🙈 GP was reluctant to prescribe anything as I’m pregnant and just gave me advice on reducing constipation. Anyone know if there’s anything over the counter I can use to reduce the bleeding? I’m on baby aspirin which can increase bleeding risk of piles and progesterone suppositories which could aggrevate it, but the benefits of using these outweigh risks as I’m on them for recurrent loss x

Could you try hemorrhoid wipes? They're like wet wipes so they're a bit gentler than toilet paper. Have to put them in the bin not the toilet though. Best of luck!

You could try asking your doc to prescribe Scheriproct ointment for pain relief or buy over the counter Anusol cream (soothing relief) which both are short term solutions. You want to try and resolve the actual constipation for long term success which I would suggest a laxative for like LACTULOSE which can be used in pregnancy but has to be prescribed by your doctor or glycerol suppositories which you can purchase at most pharmacies over the counter. I hope you get some relief soon!

caramelcappucino · 27/01/2025 00:02

Anyone else in their 13th week of pregnancy? How’s everyone getting on? Hope you are all doing well, I’ve clearly got some insomnia tonight! ✨✨✨

Lollylei · 27/01/2025 07:15

@caramelcappucino I’m currently 13 + 3! Was on antibiotics for a bladder infection last week and I don’t know if it was the antibiotics or pregnancy symptoms but my nausea and tiredness came back with a vengeance! Feeling much better these past few days though although I still get waves of nausea every now and then. How about you? Have you had your dating scan yet?

Tryingfor3rd · 27/01/2025 07:53

@caramelcappucino @lollylei I'm 13+5 today! Had my scan last week so they changed my due date to 30th July but both my children were late so expecting it to be August. The tiredness is something else! I'm falling asleep with the kids too quickly! Hope you're feeling better from the bladder infection @lollylei

Tryingfor3rd · 27/01/2025 07:55

@notsure31 not much help as I had piles postpartum rather than during pregnancy so know how painful it can be.

Notsure31 · 27/01/2025 11:25

Thanks everyone for the advice regarding the piles. I’m feeling really anxious as today and yesterday I’ve noticed a drop in symptoms (mainly nausea). I’m currently 9+3. I’ve had recurrent miscarriage before one of which was missed where I’d seen a heartbeat at 6+5 then it had died by the time I got to the 10 week scan. My symptoms haven’t been as severe this pregnancy at all but I’ve seen a heartbeat at 5+5 and 7+6. I had mild spotting before the 7+6 scan which is why they scanned me at epau. I’ve got another scan at epau Thursday morning which is just a standard one they offer to women with recurrent miscarriage where I should be 9+6. I’m so anxious about it and I have to get through two really busy days at work beforehand. My partner is also not well with possible flu (definitely not Covid as tested), I’m vaccinated against it as I work in healthcare so I’m not too worried about catching it although we are trying to distance as much as possible, I’m more worried about him not being able to be at the scan, there’s no one else I would want to be there if it’s bad news. When I had my mmc before it was during Covid so no one could be with me and it just made a traumatic situation even worse.
Did anyone else get a drop in symptoms about 9 weeks? I’m just finding this pregnancy so stressful with the previous mild spotting, piles, lack of symptoms and now my partner not being well and possibly not being able to come to the scan.

ElRo28 · 27/01/2025 17:35

Hello, I am 9w+4 and due 28 August (tho I hope it shifts into September), I really hope the best for your pregnancy. I know every one is different but thought I'd let you know that my pregnancy so far has been relatively mild in symptoms. Fatigue, bloating, insomnia, mood swings, out of breath easily. Some nausea occasionally but I'm never sick. Last week on 8w+6 I had some light bleeding and mild cramping. I probably wouldn't have been concerned tbh but my symptoms also suddenly dropped off the next day, I felt some cramping and then I started to worry. I called GP who sent me for a scan about 3 days later. All was well, there was a blob and a heartbeat in the right position. I've read that symptoms disappearing around week 9 can happen as the placenta starts to take over. They've been creeping back as well I've noticed, waking up 3am - 6am. Unfortunately there's no way to know either way till the scan what's going on, and I've no idea how to take your mind off something so consuming. I found listening to David Bowie 's Rock and Roll Suicide really loud helped. Hope some of this helps anyway x
