For anyone that has been following NatalieJane's big belly/no period/BFN's threads over the last couple of weeks, if you can take anymore, I need some more advice please.

Still no period, still BFN, still huge bellied, tried to get a doctors appointment this morning, but they were fully booked apparently, all the receptionist could offer was for me to take DS1 (inset day tomorrow) and DS2 to the surgery doorstep tomorrow morning at 8am, and the doctor might see me if he feels like it.

There is no way I can get there for 8am tomorrow, (I don't drive, buses don't start till 7.30, then I'd have to get from town to the doctors, at DS1's pace, I'd be pushing it to get there for 8.15) and there is no saying that I'll get a 'normal appointment for tomorrow judging by today's fiasco.

I am really sorry to start yet another thread about this, I feel like such a bloody drama queen, but I really don't know what to do.

Looking very good imo

LuckySalem · 04/04/2008 14:41

I'd be celebrating myself but... it's upto you if you want to

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 14:43

Noooooo you lot are supposed to calm me down and remind me I still haven't got a BFP, and that the discharge could turn to period at any moment.

LuckySalem · 04/04/2008 14:44

ok, yes all those things are true BUT.... a belly that big (no offense) coupled with the stuff you're getting. i'd be celebrating and just cursing pg tests for being wrong.

JodieG1 · 04/04/2008 14:45

Did she say if your cervix was open or closed and soft or harder? Soft and closed would be a good sign.

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 14:45

Shushhhhhhhhhh!!!

LuckySalem · 04/04/2008 14:45

NOPE!

JodieG1 · 04/04/2008 14:46

I really think you should be scanned in case you're still pregnant from Jan. Dating scan, what if you're 4 months? You could miss the anomaly scan stage.

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 14:46

I don't see how I could still be pregnant from then, the doc surely would have known when she did the internal?

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 04/04/2008 14:48

I have no idea about whether she'd be able to tell but yeh i'd be asking for a dating scan ASAP.

JodieG1 · 04/04/2008 14:48

Not necessarily. It's possible imo.

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 14:50

Well, once the pregnancy test comes back from docs on Monday, and I have to see someone again I will maybe ask for a scan if they think it is going to tell us anything.

I really think I'd have known if I was nearly half way through a pregnancy.

Good luck then I'm sure it'll be a long weekend for you.

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 15:23

Yep, it's not even been an hour since I spoke to the doctor, and I am already biting my nails, not that there is much left of them now!

NatalieJane re getting to see you GP (not read whole thread) if you talk to him and explain the situation it maybe if he feels he needs to see you ha can unblock an appointment and fit you in. Honestly this situation you are in is daft you should be able to get an appointment to see a doctor without this much hassle.

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 18:27

Thanks Kaz but I have been today

So will you test again yourself in the morning?

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 19:22

I have been testing with nearly every wee today , all BFN except one that has a bit of colour on the edge (from a side profile POV) of the test line, not reading anything into it though because they are only eBay cheapies.

I am getting the braxton hicks type tightnings again, any idea what it is anyone?

I think you need to insist on a scan, NJ.
Can you phone the hospital and insist?
Maybe get DH to do it for you if you're not feeling up to it?
I think one of you needs to get a bit kick arse, as this has been going on long enough, and you should be getting proper medical attention.

maxbear · 04/04/2008 21:14

There is no point insisting on a scan you would see nothing at 4 weeks, it would just cause more worry. She still hasn't had a bfp, so extremely unlikely that she is any more pregnant than just 4 weeks. You can't just phone the hospital and insist, what do you expect the sonographer to do miss out on her lunch break? Stay on for an extra unpaid half an hour? (Not that I get fed up working in the NHS and frequently doing 12 hour shifts without proper breaks or anything )

BetteNoir · 04/04/2008 21:44

Scans are not used merely for detecting pregnancy, maxbear.

NatalieJane · 05/04/2008 08:07

No I am happy with what the GP did yesterday, if by Monday I am still getting BFN's at home, I might ask the nurse to do a blood test when I go to drop off the next EMU sample.

I am 99% sure I am not pregnant still from the MC, I am certain the GP would have felt some thing yesterday during the internal, when I have been 4 months pregnant before the MW has been able to feel something just by feeling my belly, let alone from the inside.

And I am sure if there was anything else growing big enough to make such a difference to my belly she'd have deffo felt it.

BFN still this morning BTW.

NatalieJane · 05/04/2008 08:11

Thanks Nuts, me to!!
