Still no period, still BFN, still huge bellied, tried to get a doctors appointment this morning, but they were fully booked apparently, all the receptionist could offer was for me to take DS1 (inset day tomorrow) and DS2 to the surgery doorstep tomorrow morning at 8am, and the doctor might see me if he feels like it.

There is no way I can get there for 8am tomorrow, (I don't drive, buses don't start till 7.30, then I'd have to get from town to the doctors, at DS1's pace, I'd be pushing it to get there for 8.15) and there is no saying that I'll get a 'normal appointment for tomorrow judging by today's fiasco.

I am really sorry to start yet another thread about this, I feel like such a bloody drama queen, but I really don't know what to do.

Sorry have only just got back to you all.

I rang EPU (there is one BTW!) Told her the story, she said "Well it's not an emergency is it? Do another test in the morning and ring your GP for an appointment. We close at 5 (I rang about 5.20) so there is only me here now anyway."

I am ashamed to say I said "OK" in a very stern voice for me, and put the phone down I don't know what to believe anymore, you lot are all saying A&E, but no one I have spoke to so far, except the first nurse at NHSD seems to think it is a problem.

Anyway, DH is staying home tomorrow, at least for the morning, we are going to go and camp out at the doctors until someone sees me, and I am not leaving until I either have some answers or they refer me or something, anything to get me on the way to having some answers.

I haven't been back on because I said to DH I needed to get out of the house, so we went for a long drive, kids fell asleep after their McDonalds ( well, one isn't going to hurt is it?!) We got home about 9-ish but I went for a bath, I have been falling asleep on the sofa about 9 o'clock this week but tonight I can't sleep, so will be camping out down here for the forseeable...

Thanks to everyone on here, seriously, I know it has been said before, but I would be a complete wreck without being able to come on here and off load, I can't say it all out loud at the moment without either crying or feeling like I am going to explode so you are literally keeping me sane at the moment!

I so hope you get some care tomorrow at the doctors! Come and rant here anytime, that's what we're for Take care xx

princessmel · 03/04/2008 23:31

That sounds like a plan. Just set up camp and be firm with them till they see you.
Fingers crossed.

You should try and get some sleep though....

NatalieJane · 03/04/2008 23:34

I would love to get some sleep, but cat is playing silly buggers and won't come back.

I just hope I am feeling strong tomorrow and don't turn into a wobbly quivering wreck at the doctors, have been in the surgery when other people have broken down, not a pretty sight!

I ALWAYS seem to cry at the doctors.
Dh doesn't get how I do it! I can't seem to help it. Especially if I'm tired/ill/worried etc and they're being nice!!

It doesn't matter if you cry anyway. They need to see you. Maybe a gp having a feel of your tummy will answer if your pregnant or not.

It must be so hard, having a bump and not knowing if there's a baby or not. So strange and hard to deal with. I bet people keep saying things to you and you have to explain the whole thing again and again....

Sympathies NJ.

NatalieJane · 03/04/2008 23:44

Well after the fiasco I had with the MC (I had a bump then as well, someone asked I told, they then took it upon their selves to tell the whole world....) I think people are a bit worried about asking, but am certainly feeling the looks and the hearing the whispering.

I have a (DH's side) family birthday party on Saturday, should be interesting, it will be the first time I have seen any of them since the bump appeared, I managed to wriggle out of it last weekend. Not especially looking forward to it, but then it is a 1st birthday, and I don't want to miss it.

I hate crying in front of people, 9/10 when I cry it is out of anger, it is just the way I react to anger, better than punching someone I am sure, but once I start, I can't speak, I do the whole sobbing hiccuping thing, I hate it! LOL I am such a wally!

One of my friends had what she thought was an early miscarriage. She was at work and had bad pains and blood running down her legs. She also didn't have any scans or d&c to have anything 'cleared'.

Don't know the full story but for some reason or other she had a scan a few weeks later which revealed a baby which was quite advanced in size/gestation.

Turns out that she had miscarried a twin and she was still pg with the remaining twin. Apparently very common.

Could be a long shot but maybe a possibility??

lilymolly · 04/04/2008 07:53

I have been watching this thread, and agree you should see someone today.

Hope everything works out for the best x

princessmel · 04/04/2008 08:24

Good luck today NJ.

Maybe you'll need to cry to get someone to take notice.

You dont know if you're pg for goodness sake!! And if you're not, why the bump!!?? You NEED to know. TODAY.

Thinking of you.

Miaou · 04/04/2008 08:29

NJ I am really sorry you are being put through the mill like this. I am constantly shocked by the lack of medical care in some parts of the country. Where I live, if you ring the doctor for an appointment, you get one the same day, emergency or no, and if you walk into the surgery with a sick child and no appointment, you are seen within minutes. But then I live in an isolated rural town and there are downsides (limited A&E, nearest paediatric unit over 100 miles away) so it's not all straightforward.

Anyway, I digress - I really do understand why you have vacillated about doing something, but think you are right to push for an appointment. Glad your dh is supportive. Hopefully you are being seen as I type.

JodieG1 · 04/04/2008 08:40

Been thinking of you and really hope you get some answers today. I wouldn't trus those gps at your local place tbh, I'd still opt for the hospital but I hope they at least arrange a scan for you.

JodieG1 · 04/04/2008 12:20

How are you getting on?

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 12:24

MN broke

OK, went to doc's this morning, saw a lovely doctor (wish she was there all the bloody time!) she had a good feel around my belly and did an internal. She said she couldn't feel anything in my womb or tubes, but said it was quite early on for her to be able to feel anything anyway, and she said my cervix had a blue tinge to it, which is normally a sign of pregnancy. She has sent a sample off for a sensitive pregnancy test, told me to keep testing over the weekend, and to leave another sample of FMU on Monday if we've had no joy. She said if I got any bleeding or pain over the weekend to go to A&E.

I was quite happy with all of that, until about 15 minutes ago, went to the loo, and have brown discharge, not blood, and only when I wipe so far. Have rang the surgery, waiting for doc to ring me back, I don't know if it is just because she has been having a dig around down there, or if it period, or another MC, or nothing, or gawd.... whatever! LOL

I have checked the blue tinge thing on line since getting home, it seems it is a very old fashioned way of detecting a pregnany (i.e. before pregnancy tests were made) it can be a sign of pregnancy or a sign of impending period..... watch this space.

Tut feel, I didn't fall anywhere...!

OP posts:
kayzisbroody · 04/04/2008 12:32

It could just be cos she was having a poke around though!!

Be excited!!! Its better than worrying.

Could be worse, they could be knocking the lamp post down outside your house not mine!!
making a bloody racket!!!

NatalieJane · 04/04/2008 12:34

Nope, can't afford to get excited yet, not yet.

OP posts:
JodieG1 · 04/04/2008 12:34

I was refreshing a lot hehe.

I've heard of the blue tinge as well. Please try and get a scan done, put your mind at rest. I woul dsay definitely ask for one because of the discharge just in case you are pregnant. Brown blood is good though as it means it's old.

I bled for 10 days with dd at abour 5 weeks and now she's 6

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

NorthernLurker · 04/04/2008 12:36

If she's done an internal that would be enough to produce a brown discharge I think - especially - if you are pregnant as I think you do bleed more easily. Good Luck!
