After the lovely Hopingrae had created such a wonderful thread.

I wanted to carry this on, as many more women need that added extra support.

Hope everyone can find some support on this thread x

Pregnancy after loss support | Mumsnet

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3...

@OnNaturesCourse hope you have managed to get seen? How many weeks are you?

OnNaturesCourse · 10/08/2024 13:47

@Traitors2024 No, I hoped it was a one off (plus it was really light brown) but my back started to ache so I went for a bath.

Nothing has changed but nothing is better so I'm thinking I'll need to call but feel a bit OTT over some discharge.

OnNaturesCourse · 10/08/2024 13:47

Oh and I'm 21 weeks.

Traitors2024 · 10/08/2024 13:54

I would absolutely go get checked out. My bleed that started at 21weeks started as light brown discharge which I put down to thrush and made a community midwife appointment about it - before I made it to that appointment (within 4 days) I was bleeding heavily. Not to scare you but it's better to be safe than sorry.

OnNaturesCourse · 10/08/2024 13:58

Thank you for being truthful.

I'll give them a phone.

Orlahoping · 10/08/2024 14:30

Hope you manage to get seen soon @OnNaturesCourse. X

OnNaturesCourse · 10/08/2024 15:21

I am in getting checked now.

All seems OK with me and baby but waiting on my cervix being checked.

Traitors2024 · 10/08/2024 16:34

Great, not the nicest of exams but worth it for some peace of mind.

T2024 · 10/08/2024 17:33

Hope you and baby are OK @OnNaturesCourse x

Hopingrae · 10/08/2024 18:21

@Nic2908 so sorry for delay I've not been keeping up, I'm doing well thank you! 29 weeks now, time is passing fast! How are you doing?
@SnookyPook lovely to see your update!
I've had some help from talking therapies for anxiety recently (mentioned a little while ago) and it does seem to be helping I think which is great. Would really encourage anyone struggling to reach out to their midwife about it.
@OnNaturesCourse hope all is OK x

SnookyPook · 10/08/2024 19:31

@OnNaturesCourse hope all is ok and you've had your mind put at ease. 💗

@Hopingrae great that talking therapy has helped with the anxiety! And great to hear you're in 3rd trimester now!

LucyCL · 10/08/2024 19:39

Hello may I join please ? I had a MC this March and a CP this May. Just got a BFP yesterday and now I find myself feeling more anxious about it. I am new to this and do you have any good advice?

MisssMarion · 10/08/2024 22:27

Oh congrats @LucyCL !!! I didn't realise you got your bfp!
Welcome to the anxiety train 🤪 No advice from me yet, I feel so anxious I actually feel numb about it. It's like I'm trying to protect myself from the pain of another mc by just ignoring/denying I'm pregnant again. It's still very new though so I hope it's going to sink in soon. In all honesty I think it won't feel real until I hear a heartbeat and see it on the screen 😔 in the meantime I'm thinking of doing a HCG progression blood test to help me realise it's really happening...

It is great to see you here but not for the anxiety part! I already can see the potential of slowly increasing anxiety in the future so I have been searching for ways to manage it if it gets worse. At the moment, seeing the line progression helps temporarily. I find it difficult to trust my body because it got rid of my second pregnancy for me but I know I have to trust it. Still it makes me sad when I didn’t see the heartbeat for the first pregnancy. So doing hcg progression blood test and booking a scan at 6 weeks and 4 days will help me. I really hope that I will be lucky enough to see the heart beat. I also wish you have a viable pregancy. Nowadays I don’t say “Congratulations “ to anyone who has just got their BFP, instead I wish them have a viable pregnancy. Because I know that is the important part !! Ah, also I have downloaded pregnancy after loss app and the baby loss guide by Zoe Clark-Coates audiobook recommended by a nice lady who had a CP and is currently 20 weeks. I am going to see if they help or not. Please keep me updated on how your pregnancy goes in the future and it’d great to share any thoughts and updates. Getting a BFP is only the beginning…

@OnNaturesCourse how did you get on yesterday? Hope all was OK.

Uguberry · 11/08/2024 09:49

@Orlahoping Ahh maybe it's baby already 🥰 I haven't even had questionable gassy signs to over analyse, I'm thinking my belly is so big it must be roomy in there and baby isn't reaching the sides haha. One test result was normal, one other still to come. If that's normal too I guess there's no knowing what it was.

@SnookyPook so glad you and Samuel are doing well! I'm sorry you have something new to worry about but it's good they will be monitoring him.

@Hopefull441980 I'm so sorry for your losses, I hope your body is recovering okay right now. You have the right attitude, every egg is unique, every pregnancy is different, sending you the stickiest baby dust ✨

@DogMom62 At my worst sickness I survived on potatoes and tomatoes, or plain pasta. Every way you can cook a potato, that was my variation in meals haha. I always wanted acid so tomato or vinegar seasoned everything, which is weird because you'd think acid would make it worse. Be careful not to drink too much in one go, that's usually what got me if I only had half a glass of water too fast, try to spread it out in small amounts and cold drinks. Peas and sometimes beans were about the only things I could manage for protein.

@LucyCL @MisssMarion lovely news about your positives. It's hard to switch off the anxiety and understandable to not have any expectations, but it's okay to have hope 💞 I didn't hear the heartbeat at a 6w2d scan, as it was a little slow to develop at first but all caught up now. I found this difficult though my OB wasn't worried because of how everything else looked. If this would give you even more stress you might want to wait just a bit longer for the first scan.

@OnNaturesCourse Glad you got checked, hope everything is okay with you.

OnNaturesCourse · 11/08/2024 11:21

Sorry ladies, I've not read all your updates but I promise I will. Just wanted to jump on and give a quick update.

I have a UTI, possibly one that's not cleared from my last infection last month so their concern is now my kidneys. I've had bloods etc done and should hear in a few days but I'm on more antibiotics.

In terms of the brown discharge they are stumped. I had my cervix checked, again, and all was still well but my cervix was closer/lower. Much easier to see than last time whereas normally it's so high they have to proberly dig around and have me in weird positions to find it. They aren't overly concerned but teamed with the old blood I am on instructions not to do too much and report back at the slightest sign of discoloured discharge and/or increased back and stomach pain. I'm pretty much on part bedrest until discomfort eases and test results/swaps come back but doctor was happy for me to self care at home. When my cervix was getting checked the brown discharge was coming away in floods so they got a good understanding of what was happening and were a bit perplexed by it.

My OBs and baby's were fine tho.

Its likely the bleeding is going to be put down to "one of those things" that can happen. 🤔

Uguberry · 11/08/2024 12:08

@OnNaturesCourse Fngers crossed the bloods come back fine. Frustrating if you don't get an answer, but a really good sign everything else is okay. Hope you aren't in pain from the UTI. Get your feet up and take it easy 😊

Traitors2024 · 11/08/2024 15:13

@OnNaturesCourse that sounds like a positive update... UTI hopefully easily fixed with no involvement for kidneys.
If they don't know the cause of the discharge that's a good sign too, they'll have ruled out the most worrying things. Rest up now as much as possible, I went home and mopped the floor first time I was discharged and ended up back in hospital that day and got a row from the midwife 😅

SnookyPook · 11/08/2024 15:57

@OnNaturesCourse glad to hear this update and hope you are able to rest up now. Quite gratifying the discharge was occurring when they checked you over so they know exactly what you were on about. I had unexplained episodes of bleeding up to 14wks of pregnancy and it was so nerve-wracking each time but thankfully all ended well. 💕

DogMom62 · 12/08/2024 13:07

@Uguberry thank you for the advice. The latter end of last week was the worst so far, I took the day off work on Friday. I hadn’t been sick all weekend and did pretty much nothing but lay on the sofa! Today I’m back at work and had nausea and a little bit of sickness but nothing major.

I’m worried about the nausea/sickness intensity fluctuation, I don’t know if that’s normal? I’m coming up to 9 weeks, which is when I found out about my MMC last time. I’ve noticed I’m becoming more anxious and worrying about my up and down symptoms.

MOGMOGMOG85 · 12/08/2024 13:46

Hi everyone

I've popped on here to ask if anyone has experienced lots of wet discharge after using clomitrazole cream?

On Friday I had a lot of clear discharge (through pants and trousers) and panicked that I was having PPROM again. Went to the hospital where they examined me and said it was not amniotic fluid, but that I did have thrush which can cause a lot of clear discharge.

Took a pessary Friday and the next day I had a couple of gushes which worried me. Today I've been using the external clomitrazole cream and it's causing a lot of discharge.

I can't stop worrying in case it is amniotic fluid.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

I'm 23+3 today

Xxx

Traitors2024 · 12/08/2024 16:47

Hi @MOGMOGMOG85,
Your post is very timely for me!

I've noticed a change in discharge when using the thrush cream. I do have PPROM since 21wks but it's just been the odd trickle and I thought it had resealed tjen over the last few days I have worried waters are leaking again, I've been using the cream though and thought it could be that because I feel it makes for a runnier yellow discharge.

When I still had brown spotting it would turn it pink and runnier which obviously gave me massive fear (to the point that I chose the itchiness over the cream for a while).

So if the docs are happy it's not waters leaking then I think you can safely blame it on the cream.
X

Pregnancy after loss anxiety continues...

This morning I got my 3+ on a CB digital 🥹 which matches where I'm at, as I will be 5w on Thursday according to my last period (although I know I ovulated on cd12/13 so I'm probably already 5w).

I haven't been able to do one of these tests until now as I was on holiday and all I had were cheap strips. I didn't find checking my line progression with the strips very helpful, but that may be because I only started testing on CD14... Maybe if you start on CD9 you can really see it get darker.
On the other hand the CB digital is very reassuring! I wish it continued (4+, 5+) to keep me sane...

I'm talking to the GP tomorrow to try and get a hcg progression test and I'm waiting for EPAU to call me back to hopefully get a scan around 7w.

I still feel so detached though, as if I've convinced myself it's not real as a self-preservation mechanism...
