After the lovely Hopingrae had created such a wonderful thread.

I wanted to carry this on, as many more women need that added extra support.

Hope everyone can find some support on this thread x

Pregnancy after loss support | Mumsnet

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3...

Scan went good, little man was hiding so they couldn't check everything so will have to go back for a rescan, but everything they did see looked good, having really bad lower stomach pain tonight and uncomfortable in bed :( hope everyone is doing well xx

@LER2023 Hey you never know, with the time they can hang around waiting they might get lucky! Our first pregnancy we had stopped using contraception but weren't yet tracking timings etc and it happened during one of the most stressful times of our lives. You can do everything right and it won't happen that month, then sometimes it can against all odds. It feels so separate to everything else going on in your body. I also had a rubbish illness around then and didn't test for ages because I thought the continued sickness was still from that, and with irregular periods it wasn't unusual to go a long time between 😅 I hope you're feeling better soon, it sucks to have it drag out and go straight onto other things making you feel like crap! The house will get there eventually and will look lovely, plus you won't have to do it again for a long time 😊

And if you don't mind me using that segue, I would really appreciated bowel movement advice 🙈 It's both ends of the spectrum, it'll be 3 days without then comes the day of poop and there will be multiple bathroom visits. I eat a variety of veggies, daily prunes, I'm not sure what else to add. Has anyone found something that works for them?

For me I have no advice as I’ve struggled for years with bowel movements.
similar to you, I can go for a week without going to the toilet and then BAM spend 4 days going.

according to my dr they said if that’s my normal bowel movement then it’s not a problem. Have you spoken to your doctor about it?

see what advice they can give?

Yet another cycle of trying to get pregnant!!!

I mc’d in April and we’re now in August…. Fingers crossed we finally get pregnant in this cycle. It seems to be 6 months after my miscarriages I tend to get pregnant lol
we’re 4 months in lmao.

its coming up to our second miscarriage anniversary, so would be nice to fall pregnant this cycle and actually carry to full term!

I’ve been having so many bloody symptoms!!

the gas is ridiculous lately! Of course I mentioned before the dreaded bowel movements😭
ive been having some cramping as well, since my period finished it’s been mild cramping, and the CM is becoming annoying! I feel like I’ve wee’d in my knickers🤣

my boobs have been incredibly sore for like the past week too. But am I just reading too much into it?

because there’s not a chance I’ll be pregnant right now, my flo app is telling me to start testing on 24th of August… but that’s so far away😭

I can’t remember ever being this impatient in my previous pregnancies! Ahhhhh this waiting is killing me😭

last month was weird because my period was 3 days late and then decided to come at the end of the 3rd day!🙄

@LER2023 sending lots of luck to you, this is probably a silly question but do you use ovulation tests? CM is a good indication, and its so changeable!

When ttc, I'm awful for testing early and everyday after ovulation day - you're so good waiting out until your period arrives x

No because they’re just as expensive as getting pregnancy tests, so I don’t want to be blowing all my money on ovulation tests to be disappointed, to be honest I’d rather ride out that time, have sex when I want and hopefully conceive during my fertile period (which seems to be a couple of days before my predicted ovulation day)
it’s really annoying that CM changes so often that you can’t really keep track of it properly but to be fair I never tracked it before, it was always just have sex and if it happens it happens lol

but thank you x

hey everyone. does anyone have their dating scan coming up soon? I’m literally in such a state thinking about it I’m absolutely petrified

DogMom62 · 02/08/2024 12:46

Hey everyone!

Hard to catch up on so many messages but I hope you’re all okay 💖

Went to my booking appointment, midwife was lovely and was the same one I had for my previous pregnancy (MMC) so she fully understood any worries or anxieties I have. Told her about the one incidence of pink spotting/CM at 5+2 and she wasn’t concerned at all due to it being pink and not happening again! She asked if I’d been for any private scans and I explained I hadn’t due to finding out about my MMC at a private clinic last time (experience was awful, not just because of the news we were given) plus I’m not sure if my anxiety can handle a private scan. She explained I couldn’t be seen by EPU unless I had any issues that warranted a check from them.

So for now I think I’m going to sit tight and try to stay relaxed, try not to worry about this symptom and that symptom and wait it out for my 12 week NHS scan.

T2024 · 02/08/2024 13:40

@LER2023 Its so changeable, I usually get ovulation pain which was handy and painful lol

I found the tests changed so quickly over a day that it would be quite easy to miss a peak if I used them. Def better to plan around your estimated ov day, I found that too x

OnNaturesCourse · 02/08/2024 23:25

@LER2023 have you tried Step One ovulation tests from Amazon? They are pretty cheap and get the job done. It's a good idea to just have sex every other day mid cycle tho as ovulation can happen so quickly.

Update from me. I survived my 20 week scan - I was so anxious in the lead up. I was snippy, tired, nauseated etc for days. Scan went great though, baby was so wriggley that the scan took a while longer as they kept having to go back and forth as baby danced around. It was really nice to see. I cried! Since then we have also told some more people, so most of our close friends and family now know so it is all starting to feel very real now!

OnNaturesCourse · 06/08/2024 14:20

How is everyone doing

Orlahoping · 06/08/2024 17:27

Currently still feeling in pregnancy no man's land between 16 weeks and 20 weeks scan. Trying to remain calm and trust that everything is growing away in there but failing to keep a lid on the anxiety if I am honest! 19 weeks tomorrow

OnNaturesCourse · 06/08/2024 18:36

@Orlahoping when is your scan?

warmbutteredtoast · 06/08/2024 20:00

Similar to Orla, I'm 15 weeks and it's just weird not knowing what's going on in there. I do have a midwife appointment tmw though and I'm hoping she'll listen to the heartbeat 💗

Traitors2024 · 06/08/2024 20:44

Hi girls, I'm 26wks now and still being kept close to the level 3 NICU 3hrs from home in case of extreme pre-term labour after waters leaking at 21wks. Baby has stayed put and is still happy and healthy despite bleeding on and off so I'm praying I can go home at 28wks still pregnant!

warmbutteredtoast · 06/08/2024 20:57

@Traitors2024 That's great to hear! Every day counts x

Uguberry · 06/08/2024 22:23

@OnNaturesCourse Great news your 20 week scan went well and baby was so active! Must have been lovely to watch.

@Orlahoping I'm in the same window as you and desperate to start feeling movement but not sure I have yet. Have you?

@DogMom62 Hope you're getting through the first trimester okay and haven't had any more worries. It's nice the midwife was understanding, hopefully she will be doing your future appointments 🙂

@Rockyslife Did you have your scan?

@Traitors2024 So good to hear things are going better and baby is doing well 😊 Fingers crossed for an uneventful few weeks and you can finally go home

I had a scan Friday and baby looked okay, measuring big in fact, especially the head 😳 and she was laughing telling me the estimated weight since it seems to be 50% bigger than average which surely can't be right! The amniotic fluid had flecks in it so currently waiting on results of urine and discharge to rule things out. I'm flip flopping between totally calm because there's no indication of a problem and it could be any number of harmless things, to it must be an infection and in full panic everything will go wrong. Has anyone experienced this?

Rockyslife · 07/08/2024 06:56

@Uguberry yeah I did baby was fine and dating 12 weeks I just feel more slim and less bloated as I was just so confusing, I wish pregnancy had more clear signs of the norm 😂

Orlahoping · 07/08/2024 08:11

@OnNaturesCourse my scan is next Thurs, which is the due date of my last pregnancy. Hope it's a positive experience rather than solidifying that date as a terrible one for the rest of time! Glad your 20 week scan went well ❤️

@Uguberry I have felt some sensations but it's so fleeting and subtle I wouldn't be able to say for sure if it is movement or not. Desperate to know if baby is ok! I do have an anterior placenta, so I know that will dull movement.

Sorry for your worries over the fluid. Not experienced that but I do understand that flip flopping feeling.

Glad the scan went well @Rockyslife. I am a bit smaller now than I was at 11 weeks - bloating disappearing I think!

@Traitors2024 gosh, what a ride for you, but hope you will be able to go home soon.

@warmbutteredtoast I hope the midwife appointment goes well. They did the heartbeat at mine at 16 weeks...I didn't even need to ask!

Nic2908 · 07/08/2024 12:16

@Hopingrae how are you doing lovely?

@SnookyPook hows beautiful Samuel getting on?

SnookyPook · 07/08/2024 12:57

@Nic2908 thanks for checking in! All good 🥰 he's back above birth weight now and seems to be thriving. We have an outpatient appointment for the prolonged jaundice clinic on Friday as he was still a bit yellow but I'm pretty confident it's heading the right way. We also have an appointment for a cardiology clinic in September as they detected a heart murmur and a small hole in his heart. Very much hoping it will have resolved by the time of our appointment. Apparently they are quite common, but obviously it was a bit scary to hear. Aside from that though, he's just a delight and has fitted right in with our family. Feeling very lucky, especially after last year.

@Traitors2024 so happy to hear your update and that you have made it beyond viability week now. Every day that passes now brings more hope and better odds so that is fantastic. 💗

Nice to hear everyone else's updates. Hope upcoming scans go well and that more regular movements are felt soon etc! That limbo land of second trimester is a bit of a slog!

DogMom62 · 07/08/2024 17:10

Hey Ladies,

Hope you’re all well! I’m nearly at the 8 week mark now and struggling with the nausea and vomiting. As much as I hate it, I’m taking it as a positive because I didn’t really experience it with my MMC. Have you ladies got any tips? It’s really getting me down, I can’t seem to find any safe foods either! Whatever I eat it’s coming back up in a few hours 😭

Hopefull441980 · 07/08/2024 17:21

Joining ❤️
I am 44, I have 2 live children age 20 and 21 to a previous relationship.
we have been trying for the past year and I’ve had 1 mmc at 9 week, 1 early miscarriage at 6 week and 3 chemicals.
im just going through one at the minute.
I watched my tests fade to nothing then the bleed came.
each one never gets easier, I thought I’d get stronger.
I’m staying positive though and feeling like we just need to catch the right egg that’s all. ❤️
sending an abundance of love to you all ❤️

MisssMarion · 09/08/2024 21:05

Hi all
I'm cautiously joining... I'm 39, I have an almost 3yo dd and we started TTC#2 last December. I just got my bfp earlier this week after a MMC in March (surgical management at 9 weeks). It hasn't really sunk in yet that I'm pregnant again and I'm feeling a lot of anxiety...
I'm currently checking my line progression with the easy@home tests but I'm not sure how reliable they are for this. I was wondering if any of you had done the HCG progression blood test? If yes did that make you feel better? Did you get your gp to prescribe it?

T2024 · 09/08/2024 21:50

@MisssMarion so sorry to hear about your mmc this year.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, it's so difficult to navigate after loss, I hope this is your rainbow baby. I have to say, the support on this group has been invaluable in finding ways of coping with pregnancy after loss.

Re blood tests: I tested at home upto a week or so after bfp then got 2 blood tests, 2 or 3 days apart with GP to check hcg quantitative values, as the home tests were dark but I needed more reassurance after 3 previous losses. It was so much better as I was stressing over line darkness etc and found the numbers easier to process.

If your GP won't or can't do it, private places would most likely be the best way to go x

OnNaturesCourse · 10/08/2024 09:12

Panicky update this morning.

Woke up to a tonne of light brown discharge. Filled my liner and dripped into the toliet bowl when I was sitting there.

I've got a super busy morning and all I want to do is find someone to check me over.

No baby movement this morning but that's pretty usual but not helping.
