After the lovely Hopingrae had created such a wonderful thread.

I wanted to carry this on, as many more women need that added extra support.

Hope everyone can find some support on this thread x

Pregnancy after loss support | Mumsnet

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3...

@Orlahoping All the very best with the scan! Is it a reassurance one? I know what you mean, I'm more worried about this scan than the others before this, maybe because a loss further along may be more traumatic? I just can't imagine having the scan and it all being ok...
@Rockyslife That's good you're having it today, I'm thinking of you, we all know how you feel x

Orlahoping · 18/07/2024 15:57

@warmbutteredtoast scan went well. All measurements on track (16+1) and we confirmed a little boy 🥹

warmbutteredtoast · 18/07/2024 16:13

@Orlahoping Aw! So happy for you! How amazing, a little boy! I can't remember do you have any kids?

Thank you. And, no, this will be our first, and probably only :)

warmbutteredtoast · 18/07/2024 17:02

@Orlahoping boys are the best!

Hopingrae · 18/07/2024 17:33

@Nic2908 aw thanks. How are you doing lovely? Have you got much longer to wait for your clinic appointment?

@LER2023 thinking of you this month and sending positive vibes your way!!

@Orlahoping aww how lovely, a little boy. I'm bias, but boys are awesome! So great that your scan went well.

Hey ladies,

Nice to be reading all your positive stories! It really does give me hope. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow, been prescribed Cefalexin for UTI today. Gives me terrible PTSD as I was diagnosed with an asymptomatic UTI last time and given different antibiotics at approximately 6+1, unbeknown to me about 5 days later baby stopped developing.

I’m so worried the UTI had something to do with it, or the antibiotics, which I know is irrational but I can’t help it. So now I’m mildly stressed. Did any of you ladies have UTIs early on?

Hi, I've just literally today finished a 1 week course of cefalexin. I'm just over 5 weeks also. So completely understand the anxiety surrounding it, but we just have to hope for the best and trust the docs to know what they're doing 🤞 I'm still having awful lower back pain though so thinking it's more pregnancy related that kidney related 🙈 that was my only symptom and reason for getting checked out.

I've my fingers crossed for you and your wee bub 💖

Hi everyone, I been watching this thread following everyone's lovely journeys. I hav
Have a 6 year old which then followed by a early mc at 7 weeks 2 years later which just happened naturally at home I then got pregnant right away after that and had another blessing who is now 3 and a half. I recently found out I am pregnant and am 4 weeks 3 days my lines have got darker and clearblue said 3+ yesterday morning. You would think that having had one successfull pregnancy after a early loss it would make me feel ok but I feel so anxious just as I did whole of last pregnancy. I literally like dig wipe everytime I go to toilet and inspect the tissue after. Anyways today after days of doing this I noticed a few brown lines 2 times only when I wiped and not at every toilet trip. Dunno what to feel now it's like my worst fear has come true. I'm also due to go on a Holiday on the 12th of August and now feel like if this means I'm going to have a loss it will be a slow process and now I will be on holiday with my family bleeding and can't enjoy anything saved up all year for the holiday was so looking forward to it then had this surprise pregnancy a week and abit ago and now this. Someone please give me some advice I feel like I am getting very depressed and feeling so much self pitty I don't know what to think of feel or do. It's to early for Epu or scans etc.

Rockyslife · 18/07/2024 21:57

@rukky no advice from me really except I'm really sorry you're having this worry and anxiety again ❤️ I have everything crossed for you that it will be ok.i know you are too early for scans but could you explain your situation to EPU? I'm in n Ireland but here we are permitted extra care in early pregnancy if we have had one loss.

Hi, sorry to jump on here. I'm also in n.ireland. I've had one loss and don't have my booking appt until 9.5 weeks, which is the exact stage I was at when my last baby stopped developing. Do we have to reach out to get this extra care? No one has mentioned anything just. I actually contacted the midwives recently as was having severe back pain and they re directed me to the GP as I was "technically not under their care until my booking appt." 🙈 so frustrating.

Sophamy · 20/07/2024 18:20

Hi Ladies, has anyone experienced brown bloody discharge when wiping? Sorry for Tmi, 5w 5 days and just feel like it's happening again 😌 epau won't see me till Monday xo

peepsypops · 20/07/2024 22:40

Hi @Sophamy sorry I just saw your reply now. Where in NI are you? I was in the royal for my MMC. They advised me I would be able to contact EPU as soon as I find out I'm pregnant the next time (if I am so lucky of course) after one MMC.

I wish you all the best and hope it goes ok 🙏🏻 xx

I'm in Derry so it's Altnagelvin I'm under. That's fantastic that you can do that. They never made me aware so not sure if it's a thing or just no one told me. I'm hoping they will see me this week as I've now started spotting 😔 xo

peepsypops · 21/07/2024 11:06

@Sophamy maybe no harm for you to give a call to maternity in Altnagelvin to advise you are concerned - I know it seems like forever until tomorrow 😞
It's so frustrating the differences from one trust to another - I started the process with my first pregnancy in south west trust and it was so different. In Belfast it seems you don't get a booking appointment until your 12 week scan and they combine it which is forever away. Best of luck to you ❤️

I think this is very normal! I also found I was just super anxious in case it could trigger another loss or anything (highly unlikely but didn't help the libido!) We have done it a few times from 2nd trimester onwards but nothing regular. On my due date group we had a chat about this recently (bearing in mind all 3rd trimester and some babies have arrived at this point) and quite a number of the women hadn't DTD at all since their BFP. My Hubby has been super understanding and sweet about it. I have found talking about it though and just saying I've not forgotten him and I can't wait until it's on the table again etc is helpful!

@OnNaturesCourse ah that's lovely you felt able to share with your eldest - are they excited? RE headache it could be worth just letting your midwife know - they may want to check your BP etc. Could you also be a bit dehydrated?

I had my latest growth scans and checks Friday/Monday... And they've booked me in for a c-section next week!! Monday 22nd I will be meeting little man 🥰💙 Can't believe it! Eek!

@SnookyPook good luck for tomorrow!

Traitors2024 · 21/07/2024 14:19

Aw Good Luck for tomorrow @SnookyPook - enjoy all those beautiful newborn cuddles 💚

Nic2908 · 21/07/2024 14:20

@SnookyPook good luck for tomorrow!! Eeekkk!! That first cuddle is going to be tremendous.

LER2023 · 22/07/2024 13:54

just have to keep trying I guess!

Hope everyone’s getting on okay!
wishing everyone love and luck who’s having their babies this week!!xx

Ooo yes, thinking of you @SnookyPook!! Let us know ☺️☺️ I had my 12 week scan today and all was well 😍

SnookyPook · 22/07/2024 18:41

Thanks everyone! He's here safe and sound! So in love 🥰 5lbs7oz which is officially 2nd centile! But he seems so strong and not as tiny as I'd feared! I'm doing well. Surgery was really positive and we've been very well looked after. 💙 We think we're going with Samuel Arthur but just feeling it out!!

Nic2908 · 22/07/2024 19:21

@SnookyPook Oh my goodness. What a post. Welcome to the world little boy. Xxx
