After the lovely Hopingrae had created such a wonderful thread.

I wanted to carry this on, as many more women need that added extra support.

Hope everyone can find some support on this thread x

Pregnancy after loss support | Mumsnet

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3...

Is anyone else on progesterone?

I've had slight browny yellow discharge when inserting them lately. Was told my last bleed could have been because of them but this is lighter, more like the start of a period but has been for a day or so. Awful cramps each morning as well.

Nausea higher than ever but all other symptoms have disappeared. I'm between 10.5 & 11.5 weeks. Wondering if it's something I should bother EPU with? 12 week scan not for another 10 days

Wise0wl · 05/06/2024 12:38

@OnNaturesCourse I’m on progesterone but switched to rectally from vaginally because I was worried they were impacting spotting. Would that be an option for you?

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2024 12:41

@Wise0wl possibly... I'm a little constipated aswell so I am trying to avoid poking around there (sorry TMI) I considered it the other night.

Wise0wl · 05/06/2024 12:43

@OnNaturesCourse nothing is really TMI on here! I was worried about that and haven’t found it’s impacted me if that’s helpful.

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2024 12:48

Might give it a try tonight.

Feel like I have a massive stitch across the middle area of my stomach. Like a pulled muscle and cramps.

Eugh, who said pregnancy is a glowy time?!

warmbutteredtoast · 05/06/2024 13:56

@OnNaturesCourse Yep I'm on 3x Cyclogest pessaries a day, and have had yellow discharge. Last time I was on them I bled on and off first 12 weeks, horrible. I do 1 in the back but it gives me diarrhoea 😫 First tri definitely NOT a glowy time!! Do you mean you've started bleeding like a period?

Mamaxo · 05/06/2024 14:44

@OnNaturesCourse I am, on two a day, tmi but I've had thick yellow/green discharge like snot, bloating like crazy tho xx

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2024 17:02

No bleeding, just browny like the start of my periods if that makes sense

LacedBouquet · 05/06/2024 17:38

Hi ladies! Thought I’d join this thread as it seems you have all been through similar things to me.
I had three chemical pregnancies last year, all ended between 4 and 5 weeks.
I’m pregnant again, currently 4+4 and so so anxious that I’m going to miscarry again. Overanalysing every symptom or lack of symptom, checking for blood every five minutes and struggling to come to terms with the fact I am pregnant.
I tested up until 13DPO, will post progression photo and then had to stop as it was just causing more anxiety.
If I can get to 5W without bleeding it’ll be a milestone 🙏

@OnNaturesCourse I think your EPU should certainly scan you if you're worried, but also a bit of spotting can be totally fine x

Mamaxo · 05/06/2024 18:10

I had a 10 week scan 25th of may and everything was fine, I'm 12 weeks Saturday but haven't got my 12 week scan till I'm nearly 14 weeks, I've been fine since the 10 week scan but not the anxiety is creeping up again 😭

The bloating is absolutely crazy!!! I could be 14 weeks pregnant!!!

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2024 19:54

The bloating is crazy, only in the past week has it eased for me... I swore I looked 20 weeks pregnant the other week and it was so uncomfortable.

That progression looks good! You'll never rest until baby is in your arms though, loss does that to you. We are all in the same boat, here to hand hold through the rough bits xx

I think I've just pestered them enough lately, already been scanned twice and I'm only 10ish weeks. All for bleeding and pain. They'll be thinking I'm at it for scans.

m8ybeb8by · 05/06/2024 19:58

@OnNaturesCourse how many weeks are you? Have you stopped the progesterone?

SnookyPook · 05/06/2024 20:39

@LacedBouquet welcome! That progression looks really hopeful to me! Fingers crossed you're on track to get past 5 weeks this time! 🙏🏼

@OnNaturesCourse I had 4 before my 12wk scan - one of which they offered me just three days before the official 12wk one as they didn't want me having to go to that one overly anxious after spotting. I think they are very understanding usually, particularly of mums who have had previous losses. I wouldn't overthink contacting them. They can always say no if they think you don't need/warrant it. X

Wise0wl · 05/06/2024 21:30

@OnNaturesCourse I agree with @SnookyPook, I had four at EPU before my 12 week scan too. If you’re worried, and it’s continuing, definitely get in touch

Gentle congratulations to you. Those lines look good ☺️ I’m a serial tester, found out about a week ago and have done around a dozen tests! I have one more I’ll do in my drawer to tide me over until my early scan on Monday x

I'm between 10.5 & 11.5 weeks. I'm on it until 16 weeks

OnNaturesCourse · 06/06/2024 12:12

Phoned my EPU and was honestly made to feel like a frequent flyer with their "ah you're known to the unit" comments and then was told they can scan me but "not until tomorrow as they are too busy".

Had another small red bleed which is why I phoned plus all my other ongoing issues.

I'm glad you called. It doesn't matter what they think - if you need them, you need them. Hope the scan tomorrow gives reassurance 💗

BreezyLemonHelper · 06/06/2024 19:53

Hope everyone is doing ok today. I have a few medication questions, if anyone has any experience of them I'd appreciate it!

I'm coming up to 13 weeks now and wondered If anyone else is taking, or has been advised to take aspirin after 12 weeks? I have noted from my consultant appointment a few weeks ago but wanted to double check dosage.

It seems between 12 and 16 weeks I am in a bit of a no man's land as my epu clinic ends at 12 weeks, and consultants clinic doesn't start until 16 weeks. I feel really lucky I have been seen so much and anxious about waiting until 16 weeks for the next check.

I have been told I could ease off the progesterone now but feel anxious about it, although I think it might be making my symptoms worse and I'd love some relief. How long have been been recommended to keep taking it?

BreezyLemonHelper · 06/06/2024 20:02

@LacedBouquet welcome to the thread. Fingers crossed you reach that milestone, your lines look good!

@OnNaturesCourse I'm glad you have got an appointment tomorrow. Like SnookyPook, I also had 4 scans before my 12 week scan. I'd hope the staff just recognise that you need extra checks.

Sorry I am not going very far back to follow all messages!

Hi @BreezyLemonHelper , I'm on aspirin at 75mg a day. Maybe you could ask your GP as they should have access to any letters sent by the consultant. I go via my GP for all pregnancy related prescriptions.

I was given progesterone from positive test and told to stop at 12wks which I gladly did as I also felt it made symptoms worse.

You've hit a great milestone, waiting till 16wks is hard but hopefully not as hard as that slow drag to 12wks!
