When did anyone get their MatB1 out of interest? Did you have to chase?
Ive not told work yet but will need to asap due to teaching hours being allocated now 😳

I got mine emailed me to at my 8 week maternity appt for some strange reason. I’ve never known it to be so early and so quick. I think if you call/email your midwife she should be able to sort it out for you asap? X

longingtobe23 · 02/05/2024 08:46

@Honeyandsunshine1 oooo yes that is not the norm I should think.
they don’t usually give before 20 weeks of due date. But handy they have 😛

starting to actually feel a bit plump now and a few peeps have mentioned they can see bump! About time I guess but still feels much weirder than I expecting especially as I’ve been pregnant before - guess it’ll take me a while for brain to catch up 🙈 the weird in between stage makes me feel uncomfortable in my body but I’m hoping the full round belly will feel lovely

WinsandSam · 02/05/2024 09:38

@SpicyMoth aawww amazing!! Glad all went well, lovely scan too, can really see his face ☺️

@longingtobe23 know what you mean! My bump is pretty big now and everyone is commenting. I'm petite and usually have a flat stomach. Yesterday a friend said I was massive 😳 I felt like crying. Even though she meant my bump it still made me feel all sorts of weird. Hopefully I'll start to get used to it now

tryingfortwo2 · 02/05/2024 12:32

@longingtobe23 I’m 23+2 and bump is feeling massive and uncomfortable already. I swear I was about 2 months further on before I felt this way last time! I can’t comprehend 16+ weeks of more growth 😂 think I’m definitely getting chunkier all round this time too, likely due to the quantity of Greggs sausage rolls this baby has been requesting…

Bump photo from today 🤰🏼

We had a crazy storm here last night - woke up me, husband, cat and baby who started kicking away when the thunder clapped!

Hi all, I’ve been a bit quiet on here because nothing really happened and time just seemed to drag…but tomorrow is my 20 weeks scan and scanxiety is back in full force. Doesn’t help that everyone keeps telling me that I don’t look pregnant. Also haven’t felt any movement yet apart from a flutter at 14 weeks. Hoping for some reassuring news tomorrow, but I’m finding it quite hard to get any work done today.

Yes same! Lasted about an hour too!? Where are you based? We must be close by, or super coincidental

longingtobe23 · 02/05/2024 15:20

@Cinai i literally went for my 20 and the next day I woke up like wait what!? And she’s appeared from nowhere! But I guess how I dress hides it a bit?! But I can certainly feel down there now and lumpy in leggings!

I am still only 20+2 haha but uploading for today - by the end of the day I have to undo the jeans 😅 but they just feel rounded and a bit tight on that lower tum I guess at least they’re still going up for now!

I hate when people say oh wow look at you and wow you’re massive … why can’t they say you look happy or how are you feeling!? Urgh 😒 I assume when I tell people at work they’ll say they had guessed

longingtobe23 · 02/05/2024 15:21

@Cinai anyway I hope scan goes well don’t worry too much re movements I only just started to feel some 😘 and also I never feel them when I want too haha just random

Cinai · 02/05/2024 15:42

Thanks @longingtobe23! I found that people make weird comments…I now got twice ‘you don’t look pregnant, you just look like you’ve put on weight’. Not particularly helpful. I’m bracing myself for the ‘you look massive’ comments when my pregnancy bump finally decides to make a full appearance.

PoppingUp · 02/05/2024 15:45

@longingtobe23 most people have just said congratulations or some variation of how pleased they are for me but a couple of people made quite a point of letting me know that they'd suspected I was pregnant and it just felt a bit strange both times. Particularly as I don't think one of them actually had a clue, it felt more like them trying to regain a sense of control in the face of a change than a real reaction. In both cases though I also felt a bit like did they want a medal? It's hardly rocket science to predict that a woman of a certain age and relationship stage is probably at least considering having a baby and if she's off the caffeine and booze that an announcement is probably coming at some point 🤷‍♀️

I’m near Heathrow - honestly it was crazy! The lightning was insane!

I've just been on one of the tractors helping and I was trying to figure out if I could get an iso fix base to go on the very small passenger seat (there'll be no chance, they're far too small) not for me as such but for DH to take her for a few hours 😂 guess I'll have to wait until she's a bit older 🤔.

Adding to the bump talk, I've surprised myself and am really enjoying showing mine off, I definitely thought I'd be self conscious but I feel really proud of it weirdly. Never going to do this again so don't want to regret hiding her away I think is part of it too. I've had a few touchy, feely acquaintances which hasn't bothered me either. Being a fairly neglected child I think I'm enjoying the attention if I'm honest 😂 🤭 My Nan is a bugger for patting my tummy and saying how massive she thinks I'll get (she's teeny tiny and has zero filter)

longingtobe23 · 02/05/2024 17:52

@PoppingUp ahhh yeh
the “I knew” comments - whatever! 🙈😂 it’s like when someone says oh finally you’re telling people
you don’t get a prize for knowing before others haha.. but as you say they just want control and act like it was a big secret kept from just them.

my sis in law said - “ ah I had a feeling - I think you just know” I have a good EYE-ROLL 😒😂

mrsbgb · 02/05/2024 18:12

@PoppingUp @longingtobe23 when we told my husbands parents - at about 5 weeks so super early - my MIL told me that she knew when we saw them at Christmas. Given this was a fortnight before I found out and I’d have been about 4 days pregnant and still drinking wine like it was going out of fashion I’m not entirely certain how that’s possible 🙄

WinsandSam · 02/05/2024 18:20

@mrsbgb I got the same from my dads wife! She said she knew at the beginning of December... I was t even pregnant then 😅

Emmaev · 02/05/2024 18:30

Ive had a lot of ‘are you sure there’s only one in there’ or ‘I thought you were further along’ comments. I carried large with DD and was mainly all water so obviously the same thing has happened with baby girl because I’m massive again and she’s perfectly average.

I was so proud of DD bump but I’m more self conscious this time with the comments.

Decaffe · 02/05/2024 19:29

I’ve had three people say to me in the past week, ‘are you sure there’s only one in there?’ including MIL Hmm

It’s a bit annoying, especially because I’m 20 weeks today and haven’t felt him for a week or two, despite almost daily movement in weeks 15-16.

HRP1990 · 02/05/2024 19:42

Is anyone starting to feel the struggle with exercise? I dragged myself to reformer Pilates tonight and I’m glad I went, but Jesus did I find it tough. My balance is slowly going off and I don’t have the endurance I had previously. Granted, I’m 21 weeks pregnant.. but the different within a week is mad 🥲 I’m still going to keep it up though because 1. I know it’s good for me and 2. Because I’m stubborn and I will not quit 😂

Lillers · 02/05/2024 19:50

My line manager (male) said to me yesterday, “Wow, you’re really big now!” I honestly wasn’t bothered at all, but I did think that he’s lucky I don’t mind!

SpicyMoth · 02/05/2024 20:32

Definitely @HRP1990, though I've been incredibly exhausted for a while tbh - I've found anything low impact to be very helpful with counteracting it though, so cycling, exercise bike if the weather's naff, swimming etc.

I feel a lot more energetic post low impact exercises than I do harder impact such as a walk on hard ground, but then I'm incredibly flat footed so I always have! 😅

rupertbear91 · 02/05/2024 20:34

The last 2 days I have had every person I have met say oh look at your bump - or like my mother said jokingly wow everyone's going to think you've eaten all the cakes this week! 🤦🏽‍♀️ guess I've finally popped!

Saw my pelvic specialist physio today and diagnosed with PGP and has ordered me a belt to wear to stabilise everything. Feels so early to be needing one but it was much easier to move around trying her one on so I'm hopeful it will help the hip pain!

WinsandSam · 02/05/2024 21:10

@HRP1990 yes!! I go to Pilates and yoga and it's soooo much harder. I'm nearly 20 weeks. My muscles ache and burn more. I feel I have no core anymore 😂 balance is tougher too.
Like you, I refuse to give up! Even if I'm working at a lighter pace. I will not become unfit and pregnant.
I'm not tired but find it hard work

HRP1990 · 02/05/2024 21:37

Okay I’m glad I’m not the only one @SpicyMoth @WinsandSam like you say, I’m not tired but I am finding it hard work. We had to find out “C curve” when doing a core exercise earlier and I literally cannot do a C curve anymore, it’s too hard to roll back 😂

Mmm swimming sounds nice! I did a lot of sauna and then seaswims towards the end of last year, so I might pick up the sea swimming again now it’s getting warmer!

BadLobster · 02/05/2024 21:49

@Lillers I haven’t refused to do anything yet, but sort of wish I had today. It was our first exam immersion day today (in Scotland, so my subject’s exams are on Tues and Wed next week) and I had several periods of walking around and standing/crouching next to pupils to help them. It was a mix of pupils I know and ones I don’t and it was pretty full on. Same again tomorrow and two days next week too. Very swollen ankles now!
