New thread seeing as the other one is full! I’ll try to tag as many people as I can seeing as the other one is full so I can’t post a link…

I mentioned perineal massage to my DH earlier after reading this thread and he volunteered to help before I’d even finished talking, the weirdo.

My partner is literally obsessed with me when I’m pregnant (I blame the giant boobs) so I know he’ll 100% be up for this also 😂🙄

SpicyMoth · 25/04/2024 22:54

@BeautyAndTheBump1 "I genuinely thought I was gonna tear arse to elbow "

@MudandMoet "It'll end up like the open end of a carrier bag before baby arrives if DH got involved"

I think these two sentences are gonna stay with me for the rest of my life. I'm CREASING reading these! 😂😭😂
This is why I love MN.

Xur · 26/04/2024 05:30

@MudandMoet
the live never came on 😭😭😭 I sat waiting for it and it never appeared 😭
yeah this is the thing…my partners a mechanic, I’ll tell him to stretch it with massage he’ll take it like a new air intake pipe that won’t fit on the connector 😂

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 26/04/2024 07:15

@MudandMoet "It'll end up like the open end of a carrier bag before baby arrives if DH got involved, he's so heavy handed"

Crying 🤣🤣🤣

MudandMoet · 26/04/2024 07:32

@BadLobster @HRP1990 😂😂 get em on board and make them useful I say .... you do realise, if you don't tear it's all gonna be down to 'their amazing handy work' that did it right? 😂

@SpicyMoth ahh we're a lighthearted bunch, pregnancy is sooo hard, you have to find the chuckles were you can 😂😘

@Xur at least we wouldn't need the ocra 😂 shame about the link, there'll
definitely be others soon I bet.

On a different note, my spots have gone and my skin is finally looking normal again 🥳

MrsM89 · 26/04/2024 07:41

Having really suffered with my perenium I would absolutely say do all you can to help!

20week scan at 10am 😁 I'm really nervous about it.

Cat2022 · 26/04/2024 08:35

I tried perineal massage last time and although I ended up with a second degree tear it honestly didn’t hurt like even the post birth wee/ poo couldn’t feel a thing so maybe it helped in some way.

somebody was telling me the other day they seen some sort of ladle looking device being advertised to help the stretching. Strange market to try and make money from 🤷‍♀️

Good luck for your scan!! 🥰

First day not wearing a baggy top at work today

Xur · 26/04/2024 08:47

@TripleESept24 looking fantastic with the bump out!!!

I feel my works jacket getting tight around the belly. I work in transport, I’m a transport manager and we have these windbreakers, you know like the BMW or Mercedes salesmen, and I’ve been hiding under the jacket all this time. So I’m gutted as we speak, but I’ll try see if I have another bigger one laying around at home 😂

this!!! You know what they say money doesn’t stink 😂 where there is demand, there is supply.

@MudandMoet yeah, but what are going to do after 😂 carry a big cork around? Fill it with concrete or hire a beaver 🦫 squad to build a damb?

rupertbear91 · 26/04/2024 09:15

Good luck with the scan @MrsM89

@Cat2022 I have seen these devices, genuinely tempted especially as they now seem to come up with adverts on my social media non stop 😂

@TripleESept24 your bump is so cute. Mine is still sitting really low and just makes me look like I have a big spare tyre so I'm still in the baggy clothes. I'm desperate to look more pregnant at the dentist yesterday all the chairs were full and an older lady came in. The others were all glaring at me as if I needed to get up and give her my seat which I normally would but I can't last 2 minutes without getting dizzy stood up still so in a hot waiting room I would have no chance. I'm sure if they could see I was pregnant they would have taken their stares elsewhere.

New development this week when I sneeze I now wee (just a tiny bit!) I don't get it I have always done a lot of Pilates and like to think my pelvic floor is really strong .... is this just life now?

malimoon · 26/04/2024 09:22

@rupertbear91 I feel you on the spare-tyre bump and not really looking pregnant - luckily I live in London where TFL give out "Baby on Board" badges to pregnant ppl so any time I'm in a situation like your waiting room I whip out my badge so people can see I'm not just being lazy I actually do need to sit down! Everybody recognizes them round here so it helps with the judgemental stares hahaha

Honeyandsunshine1 · 26/04/2024 09:25

So the ladies at “the birth uprising” have emailed round a discount code. Just sharing in case it interests anyone!

“Use Code TBUMASSIVE to get our online hypnobirthing course for £35 only.”

rupertbear91 · 26/04/2024 09:32

@malimoon that is such a good idea maybe I will make one for myself for next time!

Decaffe · 26/04/2024 09:43

Gosh all this chat… never been so relieved that I’ll be having a c-section! 😅

Anyone else feel that their 20 week scan is still miles away? A week on Tuesday to be precise! Feels like time is really dragging.

Hope work is okay today @Lillers

PoppingUp · 26/04/2024 09:51

I've got over a week to go until my scan too. Feels like everything is on pause again until that happens, though planning to maybe start a bit of baby shopping that weekend if everything goes well 🤞

Is anyone else suffering with hayfever this week? Advice seems to be not to use anti-histamines but if you really need to then your doctor will let you. So another 'try and grin and bear it' one?

rupertbear91 · 26/04/2024 10:19

@Decaffe yep mines a week Wednesday and feels like eternity

longingtobe23 · 26/04/2024 10:28

I’ve just booked a list minute scan for today as I’m going alone to my 20 weeks nhs one

woke up last night 3am and couldn’t get back to sleep 😅 just so anxious nothing is going on inside there now - no bump STILL no kicks honestly where is she hiding

praying after 1pm today I can relax and just start to enjoy it again…
the massage is an ace idea I have seen a device you can use/buy now to help if your partners aren’t keen haha I’ll try and find a link (not sure if anyone has shared this yet!)

WinsandSam · 26/04/2024 11:59

@PoppingUp yes to hayfever! I take loratadine daily and was told that's absolutely fine for baby. Have taken it for many years and I'd be a SNOTTY MESS without it 😅

@longingtobe23 good luck today, hope all goes well and it's super exciting for you ❤️

Ladies, I go for a bikini wax and brow wax monthly. Today I felt a bit funny lying on my back for 45mins. Does anyone else have these treatments or similar and have to lie on your back. Is it ok?? I'm now weirding myself out about it. Just feel a bit sick, not dizzy or anything

mrsbgb · 26/04/2024 12:31

@WinsandSam could be a side effect of pressure on an artery? I think that's the reason we're told to sleep on our side from 20 weeks-ish - maybe see if you can get up and move about in between brows/bikini or be more propped up for brows at least?

We had our 20 week scan yesterday and unfortunately have been referred for further investigation because of an issue with one of baby's kidneys. We've got an appointment with a consultant at a specialist renal clinic on Monday, so hopefully will have more insight as to how serious this is then. Baby boy measured well for everything else and was super active, and dr google suggests that even with only one functioning kidney, the majority of babies/children go on to live perfectly normal lives, so trying to stay positive (after basically having a meltdown for the entirety of yesterday afternoon/evening). Good vibes sent to baby b would be really appreciated!

HRP1990 · 26/04/2024 12:34

@rupertbear91 I’m so glad you said this, because like you I do Pilates and like to think I’ve got a strong pelvic floor.. but it happened to the other day when I sneezed!!

I’m hoping it was a one off.. but I’m still taking precautions and squeezing tight before I sneeze😂🥹 why is pregnancy so glam?

@longingtobe23 omg the look of it!! A perineal pusher haha. There’s also a thing called aniball I think it’s called? I don’t dare google it because I don’t want any sponsored ads popping up lol but I think you.. insert it and inflate it slowly to stretch yourself out 🙃

WinsandSam · 26/04/2024 12:40

@mrsbgb that's what I wondered, but felt more sick that dizzy or light headed. Will definitely ask to be propped up next time. Just worried I've done damage now (obviously over reacting)

That sounds scary but like you say, people live with one kidney their whole lives. So try not to worry, I'm sure little boy will continue to thrive xx

MrsM89 · 26/04/2024 13:10

I'm going to take a step away from a little while. Scan today revealed baby has one kidney which they aren't sure on the functioning of. I've been referred for further testing to see if any other problems are present but this won't be till early next week. Xx

WinsandSam · 26/04/2024 13:17

@MrsM89 totally understand, I hope all goes well with your investigations and appointments. Looks like @mrsbgb had similar results so might be worth checking with each other 🫶🏼
