Thanks @Xur yes the relief again is instant and now I know she's okay in there even without much movement I think I'll not stress too much....saying that she was in full of freestyle gymnastic mode from 5-6:30 this morning - DH was over the moon he got to see/feel it too for the first time 💕
I've also read nosebleeds can be normal during pregnancy. Maybe just mention it at your next appointment if you still have them then.

@TripleESept24 It does drive you mad the appointment system especially for things like UTI's. It should be changed for that kind of problem. Pleased you're now seen and sorted

Honeyandsunshine1 · 17/04/2024 15:32

Thank you everyone!! I’ve forgotten everyone who wished me well, I think @Xur and @MudandMoet and maybe others? So I’m sorry if I’ve forgotten you 🫣 but thank you 😍 all was really well and the sonographer was just so kind and lovely 🥹 and turns out I have a posterior placenta this time which should be fun to see all the movements etc. I was convinced it must’ve been anterior.

Hope everyone’s okay today? ❤️

HRP1990 · 17/04/2024 15:42

Glad your scan went well @Honeyandsunshine1 🥰

I just got back from my 16 week midwife appointment. She listened to the heartbeat which I recorded on my phone. (I’m actually 19 weeks so assuming this is why she whipped the Doppler out) and we heard it heartbeat within seconds!

Also, lol she said I had abit of sugar in my urine.. that’s my own fault for woofing down a whole bag of pic and mix last night. Whoops 😂

🤣🤣🤣 I support you on your pick n mix feast. This pregnancy I’ve been OBSESSED with the little haribo packs of “fruitilicious”. Made a change from my pregnancy craving of vinegar 🥲 I literally drank it sometimes with both boys lollllll

So lovely you got a recording of the heartbeat! Midwife couldn’t find it at mine 😂 When is your 20 week scan booked for? It must be imminent no? 🫶🏻

Despite not knowing what they look/taste like.. they sound delicious 😂. My mum said this earlier about salt and vinegar crisps despite not liking them before she were pregnant with my brother lol.

My 20 week scan is actually a week today 😬 24.04.24.. quite a nice date to remember it by!

Lillers · 17/04/2024 18:28

Hey guys, not a lot to update - I’m back in the cycle of chasing a scan. My midwife is on it and has reassured me that the fact they didn’t call me in immediately yesterday means they’ve triaged the gynaecologist’s report and don’t see me as being at immediate risk.

On the plus side, I spoke to my sister today and she said the exact same thing happened to her when she was pregnant, and she has 2 healthy children - they never found the cause, but it correlated to whenever she was on her feet for long periods of time at work, which is exactly what I was doing on Monday. I had an almost full teaching day in different rooms (because I was used to cover for absent colleagues - I’m in SLT so not protected by union guidance on cover) as well as having duty and so I barely sat down all day. I find it almost impossible to teach sitting down.

That’ll be another thing to add to my risk assessment 🤷‍♀️.

you know what they say @Lillers -sometimes no news is good news! Just like no one really wanted a callback from the trisomy screening.

I am currently obsessed with onion, like the onion and garlic sauce from Tesco, like in a humous package, you get them where you have the humous and the guacamole and what not. Don’t care about the chive sauce, don’t care about other sauces, but the onion one is on my hotline list!
Tyrells salt &vinegar crisps used to be my PMS craving. I’ve not been interested in vinegar during the pregnancy so far. Or even crisps for that matter. I’ve been heavily focused on non meat proteins. Today morning I had black rye bread sandwiches with prosciutto and mozarella slices on top. Smashed it!

WinsandSam · 17/04/2024 19:12

@Jojod12 I'm thinking of getting the owlet sock as I think it'll make me feel more relaxed. Think it's reassuring to know you'll be alerted if resps/heart rate drops. Have heard good things about them.
Friends have said I'm mad and will become obsessed but surely it'll be the other way around?!

Decaffe · 17/04/2024 20:32

Oh my goodness I have been avoiding prosciutto, is it allowed?!? If so I am sending DH out to the co-op!!

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 17/04/2024 20:49

@Decaffe I think it's technically on the list to avoid (with sushi, raw cheeses) but I've been eating prosciutto my entire life and never got food poisoning. I draw the line at prosciutto and salami. Pregnancy is miserable enough, I can't survive 9 months without it.

Cinai · 17/04/2024 20:50

@Decaffe I occasionally have toasted prosciutto sandwiches, making sure that the prosciutto is steaming hot.

Cinai · 17/04/2024 20:52

On the topic of forbidden food cravings, I learned last week that California rolls don’t contain raw fish. It’s cooked crab apparently. That sorts my struggle with not eating sushi. I find veg sushi a bit miserable, but California rolls are nice enough.

Yeah, I’ve been eating sushi 🤣 Only from high street brands and supermarkets who are known to freeze it. I just like a monthly sushi treat 🫣

HRP1990 · 17/04/2024 21:02

That’s what I was going to say @Honeyandsunshine1 I’ve eaten in sushi restaurants and just asked what’s been frozen prior, and then it’s okay to eat. I think it kills the bacteria or something?

Honeyandsunshine1 · 17/04/2024 21:03

Guys, PLEASE, I’m so stuck on girl names I could scream. I love my daughrrr but my god I wish I had a name to put to her. It really helped with my other pregnancy’s to “bond”. I just can’t find anything I love 😖😖😖 I genuinely think we’ll get to registration time, and we’ll have to panic choose a name and then regret it.

I like uncommon names but not ridiculous ones. Which is technically impossible. I just have a thing about naming a child the same as someone I know of/know a child having. And because I trawl all the name suggestion instagrams, they feature every name under the sun and it makes me think it’s becoming “popular” so I get the ick. We had two boy names ready to go as well 🥲

Yeah something like that. I hope so anyway, I’m an absolute fiend for it 😂😂😂 I did it in my last pregnancy and survived… so I guess I’m playing the “survivor bias” card there lol

Also, be sure to update on your scan next week! I hope you get the loveliest little side profile shot 🤞🏻

SC126 · 17/04/2024 21:25

@Honeyandsunshine1 since I'm having a boy I'll share my fave girl names we will now never use

Summer
Autumn
Dahlia
Delilah
Violet
Lainey
Billie
Aurora
Juniper
June
Primrose
Rosemary
Valerie
Astrid
Matilda
Darcy
Poppy
Daisy

I had a lot 🤣 typically we are struggling for boys names and we have barely any we like!
I also like uncommon but not crazy names

longingtobe23 · 17/04/2024 21:26

@Honeyandsunshine1 my top fave is still the same my sisters middle name and my nana (her first name but she goes by nickname) !
its different enough but not made up 🙈😂 as some of the names I see teaching are just …. Wild lol

i adore classic girls names but I know of so many
i have a huge family and practically all names are used up! So I thought sod it let’s use one that’s already been used 😂

I agree it’s so tough to pick one when you know SO many girlies or pregnant people
i am just praying nobody gets there first for us… but it’s different enough to not be thought of I guess x

also omg I need to get BACK in the exercise game I usually only do it in the morning - and my sickness is only just fading! By evening I have no time and I’m asleep 😂 I’m in bed already!
so I’ve packed my bag for an early morning swim / you’ve all kicked me up the arse thank you!

Decaffe · 17/04/2024 20:32

Yesss, it is :) I’ve also been eating salami. As long as it’s from a packed, trusted source. I wouldn’t go into small markets, but cold, cured meats are believed to be safe to eat!

Xur · 17/04/2024 22:09

all this sushi talk is making me want a hot sushi with the spicy sauce 😭😭 they don’t have them in UK 😭 omg do I have to buy a ticket now to go to Latvia to have it?

@Honeyandsunshine1
Merridy/Meredith
Edith
Otilia
Aiwa/Awa
Madeira
Bianca
Roxana/Roxanne
Carine (Armenian) or Corine (Romanian) can be short for Corrie
Siran (also Armenian)-I love love loooove this one
Aline/Alina/Lina (these are Latvian)
Ruth-Hebrew origin, but quite popular in the Northern countries
Silvia/Sylvia-this is of Latin origin, it comes from the word “forest”
Yvette
Inez/Ines (Ines we have in Latvia, Ine is an another version from somewhere else)
Paula/Pauline
Adria
Aiyla/Ayla (this is Turkish)

I swear I could cosplay girl name generator for Halloween but I’m useless for boy names.

Honeyandsunshine1 · 17/04/2024 22:43

@Xur i actually love Inez and actually have it on my list but partner just won’t bite 😭 Thank you for your suggestions ❤️❤️

I love your list too @SC126 but none of them really popping for me, and the ones that do are already taken by my friends. I think I’m being SO picky that I need to just loosen up 🫣😂

@longingtobe23 It really is a struggle isn’t it. Are you all set on yours then? Gosh I wanna be you so bad 😂 I want to honour my Nan who passed away, Stevie, but it’s becoming so popular I just don’t know if I want to. It has a lot of meaning to us but equally, I’m such a name snob that I feel like in 5 years it’ll be really popular and common. It’s a me problem, I know 🤣

Kate543 · 18/04/2024 07:10

Beautiful names! The girls name on my list last time that I couldn’t get my husband on board with was Anya, I loved it because I work in nurseries and had never come across it on a small child.

we are struggling with boys names to go with my daughters name Peggy. I like Wilfred but my husband keeps saying I think there is something better

Decaffe · 18/04/2024 08:07

Cinai · 17/04/2024 20:50

Yes, I’ve just had a good look again and the deli meats / cold cuts definitely aren’t allowed unless they are cooked until they’re steaming hot! I have never considered cooking prosciutto before but might have to give it a go 😁

18 weeks today, why does time feel as though it’s going so slowly?

longingtobe23 · 18/04/2024 08:09

@Honeyandsunshine1 didnt even type it did I hahah it’s Genevieve and I like Gigi as nickname which is rising in popularity but I think she could pick her own nickname when older or revert to full name.
i was Lottie as a kiddy and now just prefer Charlotte but still nicknamed for my family 🙂

Stevie is very cool and I think if you’ve got more meaning to it - I say go for it.
when I named my son Noah …. It wasn’t popular 😂 9 years later it’s on every top ten list all over!

HRP1990 · 18/04/2024 08:53

@Honeyandsunshine1 I’m like you, I like a less common but not unusual name! I’ve recently met a little Hallie, Marnie and a Blair. All of which I thought were the above - less common but not unusual.

Why is naming a human so hard? Lol
