@Cinai reformer Pilates, walking the dog and chasing after a 2 year old (arguably the most strenuous out of the 3😂)

How are you @Lillers how did the scan go today? 🤞🏻

mrsbgb · 16/04/2024 17:34

@tryingfortwo2 thank you! They reckon baby is just going through a growth spurt but everything else looks fine thank goodness 💙

@Cinai I’m still doing my normal (non pregnancy) yoga classes three times a week and trying to walk a lot, though this mad weather isn’t helping with the motivation for that!

fleur89 · 16/04/2024 17:49

@Xur @WinsandSam thank you for the chocolate hacks! I had a hot choc per your recipe last night and am going to hunt for those mochi! Had never heard of them

@Lillers hope all is okay, thinking of you 💗

@mrsbgb glad all went well, perhaps round ligament pain or PGP or something like that

fleur89 · 16/04/2024 17:54

@Cinai I'm a very active person in general and worked out through my first pregnancy - I'm certain it helped recovery first time around. I was back to hiking 2 weeks post partum, had a smooth birth with no tears, and lost the baby weight in 3 weeks.

Following what I did before and still going to the gym 5x per week and doing long walks for active recovery on my 2 rest days. In terms of specifics I'm doing spin classes, yoga, the method (resistance band training class), barre classes, and strength training at the gym. Pretty balanced mixed of all of that to keep things interesting.

Cannot underestimate the benefits of strength training as prep for when the baby arrives. You'll be spending a lot of time carrying baby around and it takes its toll on your back.

Hey, no updates from me - they couldn’t fit me in for a scan today so I just have to wait to hear when it will be.

I didn’t go to work today and was amazed and touched the dh took the day off to look after me - he never takes time off (except for my appointments, and even then he works around them and works later in the evening to make up the time) so it was really lovely to have him here with me. He made a roast dinner to cheer me up - I couldn’t eat much of it but what I did have was lovely and it was so much thoughtful of him ❤️

@Lillers that must feel really disappointing for you, especially when you have been so scared. Hopefully it won't be long before they can see you and offer reassurance

That is so caring of him 🥰

Hope you get some reassurance tomorrow!!

I was so tired first trimester but since about 12 weeks I have felt energetic and pretty normal.... 18+4 and wow have I gone downhill again going to work is literally zapping all energy from me. I am in bed already and can hardly talk/have no energy to do anything now in the evenings 😭 I hope it improves again!

Honeyandsunshine1 · 16/04/2024 23:20

Amazing, so happy you’re feeling movement now @MudandMoet and glad you had a positive scan today. Mine’s tomorrow and I’m skerrrrddd shitless 😅😅😅

Also congrats @Emmaev and @Khanga27! 💝💝💝 the girl/boy ratio must’ve definitely evened out now 🥰

Hope you’re doing ok @Lillers ? I’m so sorry you’ve been though all that in the last day/2. ❤️

also gals, wanted to take this opportunity to remind you to check your life insurance/critical care policies. I did mine when I was pregnant with my second in 2021, but basically, most policies only insure your baby from 30 days old meaning you miss out on potential cover for things like neonatal stays or any diagnosed conditions at birth. So check and see if you can “upgrade” it so that your baby is covered from 20 weeks in utero.

only reason I mention it is because I randomly thought of it the other day and contacted my insurance broker to check it still applied for this pregnancy, and she confirmed it did. Meaning this baby is covered for a few things now that I’m over 20 weeks pregnant.

If you don’t have anything like this, I highly recommend Karla from “The Protection Parent” through her website or socials, and she’ll find you cover that suits you and present you with some options. It’s free to use her and you don’t even have to go ahead with any of the policies she finds. We pay £40 each per month for life insurance and critical care cover (upgraded), and that includes £3 a month for “global treatment”. Which means if we or our kids get diagnosed with cancer, and the treatment isn’t available in the UK, we’d be able to travel abroad to get the treatment and have it paid for plus travel expenses. It saves you having to set up a gofundme for you or your kids get diagnosed with cancer and need to leave the country to get the appropriate treatment.

Just sharing so you can make sure you and your sweet babies are safe and covered! 🥺❤️❤️

WinsandSam · 17/04/2024 06:54

@Honeyandsunshine1 that's really helpful thank you! I've been thinking a lot about my life insurance and what to do/when to do it. I'll have a look at the lady you recommended

TripleESept24 · 17/04/2024 07:00

My nights are just one thing or another! Woke up multiple times last night literally in puddles of sweat!!

My other half said have u wet the bed or spilt your water the duvet was WET! I was worried I was leaking waters or something!! But my pyjama shorts and around my bits weren't soaked it was literally my skin to the duvet!

Also woke in tears with leg cramp. I'm ringing the doctors this morning to get an appointment and do a urine sample!!

MudandMoet · 17/04/2024 08:07

@Honeyandsunshine1 good luck with the scan today. Report back laters! 🫶🏻💕 *tootles off to check our life cover!

@TripleESept24 ahh that sounds strange to be that hot through the night, definitely go get checked out today xx

RosiePH · 17/04/2024 09:01

@Lillers hope you’re starting to feel better! And hear back about your scan very soon.

Everytime I think that the morning sickness has gone, it’s like my body seeks revenge on this thought?! Honestly felt amazing this morning. Ate some breakfast. Started dry heaving so violently my 2 cats ran away and hid!

I haven’t actually vomited at all, just horrible dry heaving. Uggghhh.

TripleESept24 · 17/04/2024 09:40

I rang my doctors at 8 when they open on hold and got through to someone at 9.15 when they told me sorry we are full to capacity you'll have to try again tomorrow. I kicked off said I'm 19 weeks pregnant and have to go through all that tomorrow to maybe again not even see anyone????? They have a doctor ringing me this afternoon!! I was at work in tears I've gone home!!

Hi Ladies

Is anyone thinking of purchasing the owlet sock or some kind of heart rate monitor for their baby's? My son had Bronchiolitis when he was 4 weeks old and stopped breathing so panicking a little with my new one when hes born but there are so many new items out there now. Its a mine field!

We have the Cubo AI monitor for my daughter and it’s great. You can track sleep, it sends alerts to your phone if the temperature in the room is too hot/cold, also when they cry/cough etc (you can turn these alerts off if you wish)

You can buy an additional sleep sensor pad which tracks breathing motions? Just thought I’d throw that out there as an option.

I love the monitor though. It connects via WiFi so if I’m sat at home or out in London working for example I can check to see if she’s awake/when she went down etc.

mrsbgb · 17/04/2024 10:13

@RosiePH yes! A few days feeling fine, then the nausea is back with a bang. I’ve noticed it’s more after my in office days so I’m wondering if it’s linked to being a bit more tired? But also still experiencing insomnia so not sure what I can do about that!

@Jojod12 I took quite a long look at the Owlet and thought I’d probably drive myself insane with it, but would be keen to hear from anyone who has used one previously!

rupertbear91 · 17/04/2024 10:14

@TripleESept24 GP surgeries just add the the whole stress of being unwell don't they! I was told as soon as you say you are pregnant you get priority but it's been a million miles from the truth! When I was bleeding early on and was loosing my baby's twin they offered me an appointment a week away! It's a joke! Hope they manage to help with their call later.

We are off for our first nursery look around this afternoon. There are only 2 nurseries that offer term time only spaces in our area so need to decide which to put his name down on for September 25 as it seems mad spending money when my partner is a teacher and will be home! Feels very strange though when I only have a tiny bump!

Xur · 17/04/2024 10:15

@MudandMoet glad your scan went well!! 💗 I hope the 20 W scans will relieve the stress and uncertainty that’s been haunting most of us for these 20 weeks or so!

@Honeyandsunshine1 good luck with the scan, I hope it goes well! ☀️

@TripleESept24 you are absolutely right to be insisting, we live in a cruel world and should allow ourselves to become subject of neglect. I hope they call you soon!

@HRP1990 gonna google CUBO AI thank you for the suggestion.

Ive just been having nose bleeds, every morning. Not much, but a little, first in one nostril and second nostril about 30 minutes later. Every day, like a clock…before or just after I come to work. 🤨 I read it’s normal due to increased blood volume, but I’m not one to ever have nosebleeds, like ever. So it is all an bit unusual for me.

HRP1990 · 17/04/2024 10:18

@rupertbear91 I’ve done this already too 😂 I put the baby down to start September next year and to do the same hours as my daughter. As they get 15? Free hours from 9 months old. Her nursery is already at capacity with the 2 year olds getting the free hours.. so it feels so early to do it.. but I know I’ll thank my past self next year lol.

rupertbear91 · 17/04/2024 10:23

@HRP1990 glad I'm not the only one! It's so hard to know where they will settle best though when you don't know the baby yet and have never set foot in a nursery before so I'm hoping we make the right decision 😂

TripleESept24 · 17/04/2024 10:35

I was a crying mess I've just turned up at the maternity ward and they are seeing me now

TripleESept24 · 17/04/2024 10:39

Listened to baby girls heartbeat she's fine.

I have a bad UTI she said there is "everything" in that sample! Explains the horrible sweats and pains and generally feeling unwell. Antibiotic course for me

Cinai · 17/04/2024 10:55

Glad to hear you got seen @TripleESept24

Last night I kept getting a bad sort of pulling pain at the side of my belly whenever I turned in bed. I had this a couple times before, but not that intense and only if I made a sudden movement. I’m ok now, no pain when sitting or walking around.

I've had something similar I thought it was maybe a strong movement or roll from the baby felt like my whole insides were shifting!

Jojod12 · 17/04/2024 13:21

Thankyou @HRP1990 I will look into the Cubo AI monitor.

@mrsbgb I know, there's so many choices its just overwhelming and too wondering if I will get a bit too obsessed with constantly checking everything's ok.

Also thinking of all of you that are currently going through a bit of rough time with the pregnancy's and have had to have hospital visits.
