I noticed the other thread was full and have started a new one.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s 20 week scans. Thanks to those of you who gave me a list of baby essentials, very helpful!

Hope you’re all doing well!

@Sophie3003 yeah one of the midwives mentioned sweeps so I'll definitely be interested in that although I heard they only really work if you're close to labour anyway

Sophie3003 · 15/05/2024 17:27

@wannabe123 not sure if they will help or not but they will only do from 39 weeks normally 40 unless you have it in your notes with permission from the consultant to do it early. We are going to do this along with other methods my midwife wants me to do alongside in the hope that I can go into labour naturally.

wannabe123 · 15/05/2024 17:35

@Sophie3003 oh ok. I'm seeing the consultant again at 36 weeks so I'll mention it to her then about sweeps 😊

Sophie3003 · 15/05/2024 17:39

@wannabe123 do you have any idea what sort of VBAC you would like?

wannabe123 · 15/05/2024 17:52

@Sophie3003 I'd like to go as low key as possible with as little intervention as I can get away with. What about you?

Sophie3003 · 15/05/2024 17:53

@wannabe123 if I am able to I would quite like to try a water birth, that would be most likely to happen on MLBU but the consultant said before MLBU was against medical advice yet my midwife said no reason why not! If I really can't cope then would go with an epidural but would like to still be able to feel.

Sophie3003 · 15/05/2024 17:53

@wannabe123 what have they said to you re location of birth etc?

wannabe123 · 15/05/2024 17:56

@Sophie3003 I'd quite like a water birth. I haven't asked if I can have one but know someone who asked for a VBAC and was told they could. The hospital I am going to doesn't have a midwife led unit it's just a labour ward but every room has a light projector, birthing balls, peanut balls etc

Sophie3003 · 15/05/2024 17:58

@wannabe123 see our hospital has both. I can have the baby in the pool (if I can still be monitored) but delivery suite only has one birthing pool. MLBU is part of the hospital though.

Does anyone know anything about single to double pushchairs? I was going to get a silver cross wave but then saw the oyster and the egg and now not sure whether to go with anything else. Will initially be used as a single with a ride on board then hopefully a double in the future. Any experiences or opinions would be great thank you.

I have the I candy peach 7 which goes single to double. We got it when I was pregnant with my first for the same reasons as you and now pregnant with no2 we will be using it for both! (My son is 16 months so very much still needs a pram) Obviously not used the double yet but been so so pleased with it as a pram overall and I've not heard anyone say anything negative about it as a double also. Was in mamas and papas car seat shopping last week and the lady said it's one of the easiest doubles to handle. Hope that's a little help x

Sophie3003 · 17/05/2024 14:25

@hopingfor23 that's great thank you. The built in board has sold it for me! I think being short it would not be comfortable to have a board on the back and think I need to offer for my daughter as she won't yet be 4 when the baby arrives. It seems online the orange is the one but the peach looks so lovely so I am going for that!

I'm 5ft0 so had the same thoughts! Honestly it's been the best pram ever so far I love it. I've just got the cybex I cloud t car seat for new baby which fits with the peach and that looks great too! :-)

Sophie3003 · 17/05/2024 14:57

@hopingfor23 I am 4ft 11 so similar problems! I had a silver cross pioneer last time and loved it but wanted to treat myself to a new pushchair this time. I am going to order the cybex as well as the twist looks so easy and one of my daughter's godmother's highly recommended it.

Sophie3003 · 17/05/2024 15:05

@hopingfor23 what colour have you got?

hopingfor23 · 17/05/2024 15:37

We have green! Bold but just love it and get so many compliments. Theres loads more been released since we got ours I love the discord although not so sure how clean it would stay!!!! X

Sophie3003 · 17/05/2024 16:46

@hopingfor23 is that the ivy? That is the one I like and am going to order. I like the blonde biscotti but doesn't seem a very practical choice 🤣! How do you find the size folded as I notice you can't fold with the seat on which would have been nice!

Sophie3003 · 17/05/2024 16:55

@hopingfor23 also sorry loads of things! How did you find ordering a second seat/adaptors?

Ours is olive! And not had to order anything extra as adaptors came with our bundle and we will have baby in the bassinet for a while before we need to order another proper seat :-)

Sophie3003 · 18/05/2024 14:36

@hopingfor23 I thought the seat that came doubled up as the bassinet so you convert them, so if you needed two you need to order a double?

Nope you get a bassinet and a seat for when they are a little bigger so it's ideal 😀

Sophie3003 · 18/05/2024 15:40

@hopingfor23 that's the bundle I am ordering (along with car seat and isofix base in a deal) and thought you only got the one you converted!

Sophie3003 · 18/05/2024 15:54

@hopingfor23 I read it that you get two lots of fabrics to convert it but only one frame?
