I noticed the other thread was full and have started a new one.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s 20 week scans. Thanks to those of you who gave me a list of baby essentials, very helpful!

Hope you’re all doing well!

@Savvy21 It's 28 degrees here today, so I've decided to spend the day in the hot tub. 🌞😁 I felt OK yesterday but was getting a bit warm. It's not actually summer temperatures, yet, and we're meant to get some rain and thunderstorms from tomorrow. Temperatures are dropping back down to 24 degrees, which is fine.
I've given DS some 50+ suncream for kids to take to school, perhaps that's an option? I'm using the normal Nivea spray stuff and try to stay in the shade. I don't burn that easily, though.

I had heartburn with DS as well, so have stocked up on Gaviscon this time. It seems to come and go, which is a bit annoying.

Another one puking with the heartburn / acid reflux over here too! Not fun!

Had a growth scan yesterday, 32+4 and baby is currently 50th centile. Bang in the middle! Been told to up my metformin for the gestational diabetes, and because that gives me more acid reflux i've been prescribed a double dose of Omeprazole! Didn't puke last night so I'll take that as a win 😂

Currently an insomniac too. This pregnancy business is so much fun 🤣

missmoosh · 14/05/2024 10:29

Good luck to everyone with growth scans!

In relation to the sunshine and my skin, I started burning within ten minutes! Normally it takes a while for me to tan/burn! I love being in the sun though it helps my Fibromyalgia pain so much! So just going to carry on but with significantly more sunscreen!

29+3 and defo starting to get a bit more uncomfortable now lol and emotional! I cry at everything lol

Sophie3003 · 14/05/2024 11:01

@wannabe123 I get what you mean! I am 4ft 11 so have the opposite issue 🤣. Just had my scan and baby is 33rd centile and 2lb 15oz so it is a case of big garage and small car as the midwife said 🤣. The femur measurement is so tiny it is nearly off the bottom of the chart! Baby is also head down so far!

Jess725 · 14/05/2024 11:50

Oh god sorry for others with heartburn 🤕
@Bali200 exactly the same! I ate out and then out of nowhere I was ill. Winning with the extra pillows 😂

@wannabe123 @Morningcoffeeaddict
did not realise it was a thing but it really does make sense. I’ve found rennis for the first time and they are helping. Agree, trying not to overeat 😂
I had a small surprise baby shower the next day and I was a zombie but super grateful for the love ❤️

so grateful for your replies ladies and the support. We are getting so close now, most of us hitting the 30 weeks mark!🙃 I’m 32 weeks and still quite clueless as to if I have the right things but going to continue winging it! Also being kept eye on with bump size. It’s small and not growing according to the curve but feeling confident it’s ok ❤️

@ceruleansky how are you feeling now?
you happy with your photoshoot? 😊

wannabe123 · 14/05/2024 11:59

Baby is head down 🎉 I'm so happy - I was convinced he was breech but he's definitely head down. We could see his hair floating around on the scan. He is measuring big (she didn't say anything exact number and I can't find the details on Badger Notes yet) but I think around the 90th percentile. The sonographer said that he is big all over but particularly his tummy. She had a good look at his heart again as well and said it looks perfect which is always reassuring. I have an appointment tomorrow morning with the consultant but hoping I'm still on track for a VBAC!

Sophie3003 · 14/05/2024 12:00

@wannabe123 wonderful news! Still head down here (although not quite 30 weeks) so fingers crossed for our VBACs!

ExpectantEs · 14/05/2024 13:14

I think it was me that mentioned I was randomly sick last week. I thought it was food poisoning from my baby shower but it's actually indigestion and heartburn.

I have also had to reduce my meal sizes and the timing of my last meal. Saturday night and Sunday night I had insomnia because heartburn would randomly start around 3am.

Last night before bed I took some Rennis (which I only just discovered too) to try and mitigate the mid night heartburn. It worked.
But I still woke up for some reason?? My mum thinks this is just my fate now, no sleep from here on out ☹️

My babies kicks can also sometimes be uncomfortable, especially whilst I am at my desk. Still enjoy them though!

Ordered a yoga ball, think it's recommended to start using it around now.

32weeks, time has gone slow but also fast!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 14/05/2024 13:14

@wannabe123 that’s great news! And cute you could see his hair floating about too!

I’ve never had any of my scan details come through on Badger (honestly it’s hit and miss if they share anything at all with me there). The sonographer always just prints the report and hands it to me still. It’s so strange how everything is so dependent on which hospital you’re with!

Savvy21 · 14/05/2024 15:10

@Busyhedgehog I was wearing factor 50 sun cream and could still feel myself burning hahaha!
@ceruleansky I have bump pain in the middle of the night too when I get up - I think it's round ligament pain.
@Jess725 I wish that I had shares in gaviscon- I drink so much of it. The pharmacist recommended the super version in the pink bottle and it does help if it starts to get worse. I had it in my previous pregnancy in third trimester but this time it began at 20 weeks.

wannabe123 · 14/05/2024 16:02

@Morningcoffeeaddict I've just had the head and stomach measurements appear now and his weight but not plotted on a graph yet. I liked the paper reports I got last time.

ceruleansky · 14/05/2024 16:11

@missmoosh
Omg same, why do I keep crying? I keep feeling like I'm going to lose myself or never going to be able to be with my husband alone again. It's my first baby so I am going through the motions! I hope you feel better soon!!

@Savvy21
Ahh that's annoying, isn't it? How far along are you? As others have mentioned, I've been having gaviscon but it doesn't help much.

@Jess725
I'm doing better, it only kicks up at night. How do you feel at 32 weeks?
I'm very happy with my maternity photos, thanks for asking! Sharing one that I really love:

@ceruleansky - gorgeous photo!

Savvy21 · 14/05/2024 16:37

@ceruleansky that's an amazing pic. I'm 32 + 3 - the 3 is important. Definitely on countdown now!

Amberellaella · 14/05/2024 18:35

@wannabe123 I’m 5’9, hubs is 6’2 and our daughter was 6lbs 2 when she was born - which is below the 5th centile for my height. Sometimes tall people just make small babies ☺️ She’s been 50th for weight since she discovered cheese but consistently over the 75th for height.

I had my 32 week growth scan today and I was worried because my bump is measuring well above the 97th centile. Turns out baby is between the 50th and 75th and I should probably just lay off of the cake 😂

I’m with you all on the Rennies and sticking with toast for tea… Not long now though!

Jess725 · 14/05/2024 19:46

@ExpectantEs I think it was you! 😊 I’m sorry, I couldn’t find the post. I was shocked because your story could have been mine, I ate out… got sick. Had to wake up to a surprise baby shower (sound ungrateful but I’m really not!)
thought I had poisoning but I spoke to my mother in law and she also had the same thing (shes an ex midwife which is amazing for advice!)
I hope all the changes you’ve made are making an improvement 🤞going to take your advice

@Savvy21 😂😂 you should check the stock market and make a donation 😂
ok, on the hunt for the pink stuff. Thanks for the advice for us all!!

@ceruleansky beautiful photo! Always wish I had the guts to do this but just sticking with my poloroids 😬
I’m doing ok thank you, had a liver problem scare and this new found indigestion we’re all suffering with but not bad not bad 😃

team rennies !!!! 🤣I’ve just eaten ice cream and have anxiety I’ve eaten too much. Oh no 🙈

Sophie3003 · 14/05/2024 23:18

@Amberellaella if you need to lay off the food then I definitely do. I will still look as pregnant once baby is out like I did last time! Measuring around 91st centile and baby is 33rd 🤣. Hate to think how many stone I have put on this time. It was half my body weight last time!

ceruleansky · 15/05/2024 02:34

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Thank you!! How are you doing?

@Savvy21
I'm sorry! 32+3! How do you feel? Do you have a plan or are you winging it (like me) 😅

@Jess725
Polaroids are so lovely and personal, I would love to do a home series of those..

Liver issue sounds serious, are you okay? I hope your indigestion gets better.. I've been there and it puts me off ordering in or eating out unfortunately. I haven't been enjoying food at all.

AimeeLou84 · 15/05/2024 07:52

Hey all. Had a Fetal meds scan yesterday as my AFI was 36cm (max should be 24cm). Anyway it’s gone down to 21cm now, metformin must be working! But they told me baby is measuring at 98th percentile - 31 weeks today! I’ve only put on 1.5kg since I fell pregnant in November - could the scan be wrong? Other than the GD I can’t get my head around how she’s that big already. It’s my first baby so sorry if im asking a daft question - im not due til 17th July

wannabe123 · 15/05/2024 08:18

@AimeeLou84 have you been tested for GD? My first baby was 97th percentile and I didn't have GD. This baby is currently measuring similar and again I've been tested and got the all clear. I think some people just grow big babies.

I tested myself for GD as my Dads Type 2 and NHS confirmed it about 5 weeks ago. Maybe that’s why she’s measuring bigger than most then? I’m just concerned as to why I’m not gaining much weight and my belly has reduced in size although I assume that’s as the fluid has decreased

wannabe123 · 15/05/2024 09:13

That is strange about your weight and belly. Maybe speak to your midwife if you're concerned? There's so much to worry about in pregnancy 🤦🏼‍♀️ you worry if they're too big, worry if they're too small and I'm sure if they were bang on 50th we would still find something to worry about!

Honestly, if someone can tell me something more stressful than pregnancy I’d love to know 🤣 I’m seeing my midwife today I’ll ask her thank you!

wannabe123 · 15/05/2024 17:19

Thought I'd share in case it's helpful for anyone else with a big baby. I had my consultant appointment today after a scan yesterday. Baby is 95th percentile for weight and tummy is above the 95th line. My consultant is still more than happy for me to try for my VBAC but has said she doesn't want me to go much over my due date due to pressure on the old c-section scar. They also will only induce if they can break my waters. My little boy came at 38+4 so hoping this one does similar and I get a VBAC. Feeling positive!

Sophie3003 · 15/05/2024 17:20

@wannabe123 not sure if this has been discussed with you but it is my notes that midwives can sweep me from 37 weeks as my best chance of a VBAC is to go naturally.
