Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

@SELE97 thank you - you too! Two girls on here already!
@Nic2908 thank you. Yes feeling very real now. Fingers crossed you'll get a quick turn around!

CharlieBalf · 14/03/2024 15:58

@SELE97 and @RobynC28 congratulations on two little girls!

We had a 9wk reassurance scan today and it was all.postive 😊 Dates measured at 10wks which I'm thrilled about. Hopefully means I'm a little closer to getting over this exhausting nausea.

We probably won't find out the gender until baby is born. We didn't with my other two so will carry on the tradition of having a surprise at the end 🙂

(Although I'm 99% it's a girl 🩷)

mrssunshinexxx · 14/03/2024 16:23

Aw congrats @RobynC28 and @SELE97 I have 2 girls already ! I am beyond excited to find out what flavour number 3 is. Will genuinely be thrilled either way would love a girl gang and I'm one of 3 girls but would also love to experience being a mother of a son and I think my husband would love that too

mrssunshinexxx · 14/03/2024 16:23

Defo gunna ask for a good look between legs at 12 week scan

CluelessInLondon · 14/03/2024 16:28

Congratulations on your news @RobynC28, very exciting!

@CharlieBalf Great news about your scan, I remember you were feeling quite anxious in one of your recent posts so I hope you're feeling more reassured now.

CharlieBalf · 14/03/2024 16:40

@CluelessInLondon thank you yes i was very anxious and it has eased my mind a lot... obviously a way to go but I was super pleased to see the growth. She highlighted rhr heartbeat straightaway for me as I said I was nervous.

Still suffering with terrible nausea and bloating, still off tea and craving apples (whichni have a mild allergy to so that's GREAT)

WeightoftheWorld · 14/03/2024 16:50

Solidarity with everyone finding it tough, I am too. But I had HG with my previous two pregnancies so in comparison this is soo much easier than being bed bound for months. But it's still pretty miserable tbh! Like others I can't wait to get this all out the way with. But I wasn't feeling better until about 20 weeks with my last two, but then I was so unwell, so hoping I will be back to 'normal' earlier this time.

Re screening results, yes I didn't get mine for a week or two after the dating scans with my previous pregnancies, and had both those scans towards the end of the time period too. I'm not in a rush to tell anyone though. I'm actually really anxious about it as think we are going to face some rudeness and comments etc with this being our third...also I'm meant to be a bridesmaid for DSis when I will be heavily pregnant and she ordered my dress before I was pregnant, so that's going to be a fun discussion. She's Hard Work so it's not going to go down well. I think I will offer to pay for it tbh but then I won't be able to buy a wedding present as the dress is double what I would have spent on a gift (we are not wealthy, needless to say).

Just to say also I had light brown spotting throughout my first trimester on and off with DC2 and no cause was ever found and nothing was wrong, it just stopped eventually.

WickWood · 14/03/2024 16:58

@RobynC28 Congratulations to you too, another girl!

I think if all is well next week at my 12 week scan then the following week I will find out sex.

JLT24 · 14/03/2024 17:00

@SELE97 and @RobynC28 congratulations!

If you don’t mind sharing who did you have the test done with? I’ve looked online and it’s a bit confusing. It’s my first pregnancy and I’m totally clueless! Now reading that chromosomal abnormalities are more likely with older maternal age and as I’m older it’s got me worried and I think the test would really help, plus my mum is desperate to find out the gender so we can do a gender reveal on a family holiday we have booked when I’ll only be 14 weeks so may not be visible on a scan.

TIA

Thank you! I did a nipt test with a private clinic but they used the concepto clinic to process it.

https://conceptodiagnostics.co.uk/nipt

It's the most affordable option as mine was only £220 - for some reason if I went direct it was more expensive but still much cheaper than the harmony test. I'm in the South east area. If you just Google nipt Tests in your area there should be somewhere, unless you live rurally? Some places I looked at were £700 so the price really varies!!

You have to either have a scan at the time or have a scan before to bring proof that you are over 10 weeks. Mine was done on Monday and got the results today. 😊

For anyone whose symptoms are lifting as they approach 11 weeks or /and anyone with spotting I wanted to share good news.

lpylou · 14/03/2024 18:05

Post sent before I had a chance to attach the scan we had today. I couldn't wait until Wednesday.. I was being kept up at night with worry. But all is well, baby was wriggling around happily!

@lpylou What a fabulous picture! ❤

LuxeBiscuit · 14/03/2024 19:12

@lpylou lovely scan - they look like a proper human!

Sara1988 · 14/03/2024 19:13

I'm 10+4 and completely miserable. No signs of getting better and now crying all the time to boot. Cried for 20 minutes this morning because I didn't want to go to work.

Wow what an amazing clear picture ♥️. How many weeks are you?

lpylou · 14/03/2024 19:37

@Jacky86 thank you, I'm 11 + 4 weeks although the scan had pulled my due date forward due to size of baby. DS was 9lb at birth and almost 100% for everything. Asked sonohrspher to find the nub and clear as day was a boy IMO! Brothers will be 2 years apart almost exactly, DS end Sept this one start Oct.

Sorry to hear that @Sara1988 hope it all calms down for you in the coming weeks. Going to work is so hard in first trimester.

tryforbabynumber2 · 14/03/2024 19:41

@lpylou amazing photo!! Xxx

Jacky86 · 14/03/2024 19:45

My early scan is tomorrow, I am so anxious. I have been wishing the week away. I desperately want to see a little heartbeat.

CharlieBalf · 14/03/2024 19:45

@lpylou I feel a bit silly asking but what is a nub?! I've had two babies and the sonographer has never mentioned it before?

CluelessInLondon · 14/03/2024 19:47

@Jacky86 Good luck for tomorrow, I hope it goes well for you.

lpylou · 14/03/2024 19:56

@CharlieBalf it's a way to guess if you have a boy or girl at your 12 week scan, should the angle be correct. I examined mine with DS and now consider myself an expert in guessing gender. I've got one wrong so far and people come to me often. If you google 'nub theory' you will see the difference between boy/girl.

lpylou · 14/03/2024 19:58

Also worth noting I asked when I had my 12 week NHS scan and the sonographer was not interested. I did ask her to show me the baby at the end again once she was done with her checks and i asked her to take a pic, it was only that one at the end I saw it. Today's scan was private so she was more than willing to hunt the right angle.

Nic2908 · 14/03/2024 20:45

@lpylou what a beautiful scan picture. First one to look like a little baby. So exciting.

CharlieBalf · 14/03/2024 20:57

@lpylou ah sure! I've ibly everything had NHS scans and my trust doesn't reveal gender so I've never asked!
I'll have a little Google!
