@hol92 thats funny thats almost the same timing as me. Il be 12 weeks 2 days before my daughterโ€™s 1st birthday. are you back at work in between?

Brindle358 · 18/01/2024 17:04

Hi all ๐Ÿ‘‹ I think I'm 25th September so 4 weeks and 1 day today! I've not had too many symptoms yet apart from extreme thirst and being a bit more highly strung than usual. Although today I've had to keep winding myself all day by rubbing my chest as I've felt like I need to burp (good job im working from home!)๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿคฃ

HRP1990 · 18/01/2024 17:16

Congrats @Brindle358!

I got my booking in appointment today, Iโ€™ll be 7w 5 days, I donโ€™t suppose it matters that Iโ€™ll be a few days out 8w? Does anyone know if Iโ€™ll be able to bring my DC with me? Iโ€™d rather not lol but last resort as they wonโ€™t be at nursery then ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I got mine through today too! And my 12 weeks scan for the 11th March feels a life time away!

HRP1990 · 18/01/2024 17:39

@rupertbear91 oh wow amazing! My booking appt was an email weirdly? Hopefully my scan appt comes through soon too! How far gone will you be for both?

An email that's so random? I will be 8 weeks on my booking appointment and 11+6 for my scan. I have booked a private scan for 7 weeks though as I'm mega anxious something will go wrong!

HRP1990 · 18/01/2024 17:53

I know, I thought so too? We use badger notes where we are, Iโ€™ve just logged in and the appt is logged in there. Thought maybe because I left my email on the hospital referral? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Aw thatโ€™s great you donโ€™t have to wait towards the latter end of 13/14 weeks for your scan! Itโ€™ll come round so quick. I think Iโ€™m going to book a private at 8wks like I did with my first

I hope so! The last week since I found out feels like an eternity ๐Ÿ˜‚ so the next 7 need to hurry up!

Xur · 18/01/2024 18:09

I had a new symptom today-dizziness! It happened while I was sat even!
Went to see some friends today who have a newborn at home (4 weeks), new momma declared she did it without any anaesthesia. Not of her choice, she missed the window.
to be honest I gained a whole new level of respect for her, I just think any woman whoโ€™s done it without any meds is an absolute titan.

hol92 · 18/01/2024 19:12

@HoneyandSunshine aww I love that so much ๐Ÿฅฐ I can't wait to give my son that, I have three brothers so have always wanted a big family if I could โค๏ธ

@Cat2022 love that! Yes I went back at the start of January only two days a week though :) am hoping there isn't a certain amount of time you have to spend back at work before claiming maternity haha! How about you? :) x

Cat2022 · 18/01/2024 19:29

@hol92 Iโ€™m officially back 19th Feb but Iโ€™d already booked in 3 weeks holiday after then so not till March. I think SMP will be fine I just donโ€™t know if il qualify for my employers maternity this time. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m going to tell them until closer to 20 weeks though - unless Iโ€™m already obviously showing I guess.

MudandMoet · 18/01/2024 19:36

Hi @Brindle358 congratulations! I'm the same with thirst! Have been since about 4 weeks. I woke at 2am this morning and could have drank a river dry but then I'd be peeing all night ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm just so thirsty all the time.

MudandMoet · 18/01/2024 19:42

Did the bands work @MrsB2019x ?

@Xur will you have your baby in the UK or where your other home is? Hopefully the dizziness is a one off. I agree, those that manage without pain relief are amazing! I shall take 2 of everything they've got!

MrsM89 · 18/01/2024 19:49

@Xur no pain relief at all? Not even gas and air? Brave lady. Xx

MrsB2019x · 18/01/2024 20:07

@MudandMoet Yeah they have definitely taken the edge off! Might just be placebo but Iโ€™ll take it ๐Ÿ‘Œ

@Xur I do find it quite frightening when people run out of time for pain relief! I guess your body knows what to do and you just manage butโ€ฆ no thank you ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

MrsB2019x · 18/01/2024 20:10

Speaking of which has anybody thought about birth options? Probably waaaay jumping the gun but it has been in my head a lot.

My birth with DD was really difficult - failed vaginal birth, failed ventouse, failed forceps and an eventual emergency section (she was 9lbs 7oz and just couldnโ€™t get round the U bend in the birth canal!) We were both battered. So Iโ€™m thinking of going for an elective this time but I worry about looking after her during recovery! DH is super hands on so support isnโ€™t an issue but she is still like velcro to me so it probably wonโ€™t be good enough for her ๐Ÿ˜‚

longingtobe23 · 18/01/2024 20:11

Tell whoever, whenever you want I say! โ™ฅ๏ธ

I have a scan booked for roughly 6+6 with nhs due to tubal risk (I've got floppy ones according to my gynae), but Iโ€™m tempted to book private at 5+6 as Iโ€™ve been having terrible lower cramps
what would you do!?

I called but didnโ€™t get back to confirm because they said they might not see anything - would you wait it out? Feels like torture! ๐Ÿฅฒ

GoldenEra21 · 18/01/2024 20:14

Hey, everyone! So I think I might be pregnant. Iโ€™ve never had spotting days before I was supposed to get my period. Three days before I was supposed to start my period I spotted for about an hour. From research I think itโ€™s implantation bleeding because Iโ€™ve never spotted before. And because of how long it lasted and how much blood it was. My breast also feel heavy and a little sore. Iโ€™m now currently two days late from my period ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Any thoughts? ๐Ÿ’ญ

Megan004 · 18/01/2024 20:14

I got my scan date through Iโ€™ll be 12+4 - it seems like agessss away. Iโ€™m tempted to jump on the early scan train as well at this rate I donโ€™t think I can wait!

Iโ€™ve been really thirsty the last couple of weeks as well, and up peeing a lot in the night - basically you canโ€™t win ๐Ÿคฃ

HolyMoly24 · 18/01/2024 20:15

@GoldenEra21

There's only one way to find out...TEST!

Hopefully you are ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

longingtobe23 · 18/01/2024 20:16

@MrsB2019x i think planned sections (in theory) from anecdotal friend and family stories are much calmer less traumatic and that mentally can have you back up feeling good quicker. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m telling myself anywayโ€ฆ.

You will of course need all the hands on you can get but I am sure little one will love their new sibling so will love cuddles on sofa in bed!

Iโ€™ll be opting if I can get a section - my DS was 9lb10z and I had a tricky delivery which is why we left such an age gap ๐Ÿ˜…

GoldenEra21 · 18/01/2024 20:18

Youโ€™re right I think I will tomorrow!!

longingtobe23 · 18/01/2024 20:18

@Megan004 second the pee issue over here might have to swaps sides in bed with husband temporarily as I am up 4/5 times at night to en-suite on his side of the room ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

also LOVING ice cold water

ForeverHopeful67 · 18/01/2024 20:32

@HRP1990 how did you get your log in details for badger notes?
I done my referral for a booking in appointment on there but haven't heard anything back since and time is getting on a bit now ๐Ÿ™ˆ

For those talking about pain relief during birth, the only word I had written on my birth plan was " epidural " as I'm rubbish with pain...I ended up having a super quick labour and no pain relief at all ( not even gas and air or paracetamol!!) if I can do it so can you ladies!! You got this whatever you decide!

HRP1990 · 18/01/2024 20:40

@ForeverHopeful67 I self referred on the hospital website and then they emailed me today with my booking in appt at the gp. In the attached was info about how they use a digital system now, including how to log in..

โ€The first time you open the app on your phone or log in on the browser, it will ask you for a Passphrase.

This is: your date of birth in 6 digits Eg: DDMMYY So if your date of birth is the 1st of January 1966 (01/01/1966) You would type: 010166 It will then ask you to change this to a password that you choose. It will also ask you to create a pin number that you can remember.โ€œ Hope that helps?
