Hi @Cat2022 at your booking appointment did the midwife book the 12 week scan in at all?

I have my booking appointment on Friday really excited to attend and get the chance to speak to someone finally!

@doitjustice95 she didn’t but she said that the appointment should come in the post as when they add the booking appointment on the system it triggers the scan letter. It might not be the same everywhere though we use badger notes up here.

@HRP1990 Check with the unit whether they’ll allow a child in - some are really strict on saying no because they can be distracting for the sonographer and it can be really bad if there’s any difficult news for them to deliver. Someone on here somewhere said their partner ended up missing the scan because they needed someone to watch their child when they weren’t allowed in. Hopefully it’ll be ok for you though!

@rupertbear91 I take Pregnacare and have been ok, but I take them with my main meal in the evening. On an empty/emptyish stomach they’re way too harsh and make me sick immediately.

Reading all these with interest - I think I’m 6 weeks today and haven’t had any cravings or aversions yet…half dreading them kicking in and also looking forward to it as it’s some indication the pregnancy is progressing.

Oh my days. What on earth .....
I almost didn't go to this appointment. I am sitting at EPU waiting for a nurse. Because I just had another scan at the hospital.
And I'm pregnant.
She has absolutely no idea what the woman yesterday was looking at. I am 100% healthy and have a normal looking yolk sac.
I can't actually cope with this rollercoaster.

Just had a call from the midwife to confirm my booking appointment - 20th Feb. It seems my snotty replies to her emails served me well!

@Lillers the private scan seems okay with children from the website, however I know the NHS scan is absolutely no children.

I hadn’t thought of potential bad news actually so perhaps we should rethink. Hmm! I just can’t imagine anyone willing to have her 9am on a Sunday morning 🙈

@californiacooper I am soo happy for you! EPAU warned me of going to private scans as they said that they often get it wrong with early pregnancies. How many weeks are you? I’ve got a scan at EPAU tomorrow. I’ll be 6 weeks. I am hoping for a yolk sack tomorrow!
