@tierneytarny I have exactly this problem too! How many dpo are you? Yesterday I took two cheapies, one the stick version and one the strip - they are both 20hcg pick up but the strip still barely picked up anything! X

siobhanmt247 · 18/01/2024 05:27

Morning everyone. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow which feels like a big milestone as I was convinced I'd have a chemical as I found out so early. Keep checking percentages on that niscarraige calculator

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 i can't believe the gp said that about 12 weeks. I've told people that I know I'd tell if I was having a miscarraige

tierneytarny · 18/01/2024 05:49

@hol92 Iโ€™m 14DPO today. By my app Iโ€™m 4 weeks 5 days pregnant. Iโ€™ve woken up incredibly nauseous this morning. Iโ€™ve done another cheapie and weeks indicator and the cheapie is still barely positive (as in Iโ€™m not sure I see anything!) and the CB indicator shows 1-2 weeks. Iโ€™ve ordered some FRER - I need something I can see progression on at the minute as so nervous. How many DPO are you? My cheapies are 25hcg so Iโ€™m hoping itโ€™s that but Iโ€™d have assumed I was over 25hcg by now.

Xur · 18/01/2024 06:01

Good morning ladies,
my nausea is is already making an appearance, Iโ€™ve not even got out of bed yet. And today we have to go to see the baby of some friends and thereโ€™s going to be lunch ughโ€ฆI donโ€™t know if Iโ€™ll be much of an eater today.

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 I have the same situation at work, my boss is not a dick but I work in a male dominated industry and I run a whole depot, Iโ€™m sure my boss will shit himself thinking what to do when I go on maternity. I know Iโ€™ll have to sort it myself and come up with a way to reorganise work until I go. Recently they even paid for a big and expensive qualification course for me ๐Ÿคฃ I hope he doesnโ€™t take it as a spit in the face

Hi @TTCSoManyQuestions88

Iโ€™m an accountant at one of the Big4 and itโ€™s currently our busy season so can most definitely relate to the struggle, I really hope you start to feel better and have an easier time ahead.

Iโ€™m not wanting to alert anyone at work as Iโ€™m currently at 5/6 weeks and I just feel asking for support now may not be a good look. Iโ€™m waiting to get to 12 weeks hopefully and see what can be done then.

Me too! Busy season and early pregnancy are literally finishing me off. Genuinely considering getting signed off sick for a few weeks if it gets any worse

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 I canโ€™t believe the GP weighed in like that! I think @siobhanmt247 made a good point of telling people who you would want to support you if the worst happened. I told my
mum yesterday at 7 weeks. A colleague at work also knows but thatโ€™s because she pretty much asked me the direct question and I canโ€™t lie ๐Ÿ™ˆ Iโ€™m going to tell my manager next week when I go back to work as I work with challenging families so she will probably need to get the ball rolling on risk assessments.

@ForeverHopeful67 I have woken up with some cramping this morning but in all honesty I think itโ€™s gas ๐Ÿ™ˆ so glamorous!

@Xur I have woken up with nausea too. Currently sat in bed forcing myself to eat a piece of bread as Iโ€™ve got to get up and do the nursery run in a minute!

hol92 · 18/01/2024 07:03

@tierneytarny I am 13dpo today, try getting the cheap clear and simple sticks that's what I'm going to use to try and see progression as for some reason they show up but like you on my strips I can barely even make out a line! But like I say they are the same hcg as the sticks I used so it's completely confused me! I won't use the strips any more now because it makes me anxious, also was speaking to another girl who said that the strips took weeks to show anything that wasn't a squinter and she was fine :) it's such an anxious time isn't it, am trying to attach a photo of my tests to show you but it won't seem to let me x

hol92 · 18/01/2024 07:07

@tierneytarny so these are the ones from yesterday , same brand, same Urine, same hcg! Makes no sense x

Khanga27 · 18/01/2024 07:22

Hi thanks for making new post.

I am now 7+4 weeks now. Nausea has been so mild over past 5 days and it has me so panicked that itโ€™s another MMC. We saw heartbeat last week at reassurance scan at EPU but I still feel quite worried.

However one thing I have had is constant feeling of hunger. Has anyone else had this?

VT6 · 18/01/2024 07:38

@hol92 there is a definite line on the smaller one!xx

Decaffe · 18/01/2024 07:47

I wouldnโ€™t worry about the weeks indicator saying youโ€™re 1-2 weeks. If youโ€™re sure of your ovulation date then 14dpo would put you at 3w6d, so donโ€™t worry!

hol92 · 18/01/2024 07:49

I have just taken another stick test this morning and it's lighter :( I'm really panicking has anyone ever had this and everything turn out okay? I know deep down it probably means it's not okay

Decaffe · 18/01/2024 07:53

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 I totally agree with @Labyrinth86, women are conditioned not to talk about their reproductive health, I would agree with telling people from whom youโ€™d like support if the worst happened. I have told my mum, sister (who is an GP!) and one friend.

I decided to tell another friend yesterday as I was getting in a tizzy over the NHS diet advice and she is very sensible and rational - her reply was that she is also early days pregnant and is five days ahead of me!

hol92 · 18/01/2024 07:58

Today's test looks so much lighter :( surely it would be darker if I'm due on AF today

Due September 2024 PART 2 ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ
hol92 · 18/01/2024 07:59

Today's is the bottom one, the other two are from the previous two days, my hcg should surely be higher now

Xur · 18/01/2024 08:01

@MrsB2019x
does your nausea go away if you eat or drink? Mine does, it disappears after having a cup of coffee.
Mine will come back around noon (thatโ€™s how it usually is) along with sleepiness. ๐Ÿ˜‚
move never been this unmotivated on a vacation.
Like Iโ€™ll happily stay in bed any day. Fuck the world

tierneytarny · 18/01/2024 08:34

@Decaffe im not too worried about the weeks indicator as I know they can be off. I have a shorter cycle so Iโ€™m around 4+5 according to the NHS calculator. My husband had just told me to throw away the cheapies and if I need to test to test again on Saturday (which is good advice I think).

@hol92 my cheapie sticks are awful - Iโ€™m chucking them. Try not to worry. After about an hour I see a noticeable line - and compared to two days ago it is darker. I only you shouldnโ€™t take results out of the timeframe but I have the digitals which are positive and my FRER was too. Maybe try a different brand and monitor from there?

Cat2022 · 18/01/2024 08:36

@doitjustice95 Iwork in the big 4 too although Iโ€™m currently still on mat leave so I really feel for you having to do busy season whilst pregnant. I was the other end of pregnancy last year and ended up going off early as it was too much whilst 35 weeks pregnant. I would say though if you end up with bad morning sickness or anything seek help from your gp but donโ€™t be afraid to tell work as itโ€™s not worth suffering in silence. I told mine at 14 weeks last time and they were really supportive throughout.

My work are really going to hate me as il only be back for 7 months before going off again but it is what it is.

hol92 · 18/01/2024 08:50

@tierneytarny when I left it about 5 mins it did look a bit darker but still not as dark as yesterday, I agree I don't think I will do these ones any more need to buy some decent ones! Or like my husband just stop testing, I do it to try and put my mind at rest but it really doesn't lol

VT6 · 18/01/2024 08:53

@hol92 the levels wonโ€™t change daily, I would leave it a couple of days before testing again โค๏ธ try and go easy on yourself xx

siobhanmt247 · 18/01/2024 08:54

@hol92 i don't think the cheap ones get really dark until much later. I had the same worry. Try not to panic x

Labyrinth86 · 18/01/2024 09:03

For people who want cheap tests that do show early, try the Boots own brand HCG sticks.

Sydney1988 · 18/01/2024 09:11

@ForeverHopeful67 Yes I am - at 6+2. I called the EPU and they said extremely common, take paracetamol. And if the pain is unmanageable after paracetamol, then call them. Seemed pretty casual to me but can only trust they know what theyโ€™re talking about!

HRP1990 · 18/01/2024 09:24

Hi, I hope you donโ€™t mind if I join? Iโ€™m 6 weeks today - due date 13th Sept! DC is 2 in March so weโ€™ll have 2.5 gap between the two which is nice! Starting to think about double prams etc already ๐Ÿ™ˆ think Iโ€™m getting too ahead of myself!
