Sorry to hear of others experiencing anxiety. I've had some spotting this evening and due to my history I'm immediately fearing the worst. My local womens health unit have booked me in for a scan tomorrow afternoon. 😑 @CharTT33 you're a day ahead of me and I know we have super similar history. Wishing you all the best for Friday 💕
@Fawklight sorry you're struggling so much. Sending a hand hold. Hope you get some reassurance and support soon and manage to start feeling more hopeful about your pregnancy 💗

bobbles4091 · 03/01/2024 08:28

I don't know if this will help anyone but it's really helped to reassure me in all my pregnancies (including this one). It's a miscarriage odds reassurer.

Sending love to everyone 💓

Hi everyone

I am 7+4 and having my booking appt today. Think I will also pay for a private scan today as I have next to no symptoms at all which is giving me anxiety.

DisneyLady1 · 03/01/2024 08:42

Hi again everyone! Good to see the thread back up and running.

I'm 10 weeks today (woohoo!) Cyclizine is helping lots with the vomiting... but I am feeling SO unhealthy!

Eating loads of stuff to keep nausea at bay, but it is all pure white carbs (chocolate cereal, white bread, cheddar, eggs) can't stomach much else.

I'm usually quite into exercise but literally have left the house once between Christmas and now for a brief walk, the nausea is so bad! Haha plus I have little time between working and looking after DD.

Please tell me I'm not the only one >.<

I'm hoping I can make up for it in a month or so, which is when I started to feel more like "me" again with DD.

Sure is a rollercoaster!

SunSparkle · 03/01/2024 10:40

@SnookyPook sending you a giant hug and I hope it's not bad news. I hope the scan goes well this afternoon. How are you feeling? did you say you were on progesterone already?

OP posts:
graceinc22 · 03/01/2024 11:00

yes @SnookyPook all the hugs and good wishes. Hopefully it’s just normal hormonal pregnancy stuff, and you can get reassurance from the scan. Glad they slotted you in so quickly. X

CharTT33 · 03/01/2024 11:33

@SnookyPook Hey, we sure do have the same/similar story! Finger crossed the spotting is nothing and it’s all okay with the scan this afternoon? Keep us updated! Praying for you! Xx

pontipinemum · 03/01/2024 11:41

Hi All, sorry I didn't keep up with MN. I only use it when I am at work really I don't like it on my phone just the computer.

I am so so so nauseous wish it would ease off a bit. I threw up yesterday and my toddler was in the loo with me. He started bawling so I had to try comfort him and retch at the same time!

Harveybelle · 03/01/2024 11:44

Hi all!
I'm 8+2 today and have my 12 week scan on 1st Feb.

Only symptoms have been sore boob, emotional!, and the odd heartburn and massive appetite.

This will be my 2nd, with my son, i only really had sore boobs. But it's still a worry!! My boobs have been a lot better this week, kinda wish i had more symptoms..
it's a minefield!

CharTT33 · 03/01/2024 11:51

@Harveybelle this is similar to me symptom wise… is just soooo confusing right ! Blowing baby dust to you. Xxx

Harveybelle · 03/01/2024 11:52

It really is. I also had the odd stretch feeling and twinge but that's also gone off this week.. I keep reminding myself with my son - who's now 6 - that I didn't feel pregnant at all!

Isitisit · 03/01/2024 12:04

Hi everyone!

I didn’t realise there was a new thread. I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and will be telling my manager then. Nausea has really kicked in the last couple weeks but hoping it will improve soon. Ladies who have been pregnant before - when dod it ease for you?

I had an appointment in the pump clinic for my T1 diabetes today and they are pleased with how I’m doing but suggested maybe reducing carbs which is hard to do with the nausea!

fr4zzledmum · 03/01/2024 13:06

So I've just had my booking appt with the midwife at 8 + 5. All looking good, but I'm going to be consultant led due to my BMI, so more scans and appts.

Just got to wait for my scan letter now :)

fr4zzledmum · 03/01/2024 13:13

@Isitisit all day morning sickness is different for everyone, but I felt better around the 16-18 week mark with my first pregnancy.

My DD has very kindly started imitating me when I retch 🙃

@fr4zzledmum 😂that's so kind of her!!

hickorydickory20 · 03/01/2024 13:58

Hi all, the last thread ran away from me with so many messages. Hope everyone is ok.

I am 7 weeks today, I didn’t have any morning sickness until 6 weeks with this one, my first was from 4/5 weeks and also continuous, this time it’s in waves. Mostly hitting me in the afternoon and evening. Also hungry 24/7, before getting pregnant I had such plans to get fit and healthy and lose some weight, but it’s so difficult with how much I want to eat.. all the time. Then when I do eat, the nausea hits. Trying to eat when I need to and just upping exercise, but I am tired too. Forgot how tough these first 12 weeks are, for hope for others, at 14 weeks last time I lost all the awful symptoms and had a really bliss pregnancy right up to 34 weeks when it only became difficult because of the giant baby inside me, rather than symptoms as such.

LottieW93 · 03/01/2024 16:35

Hi everybody new and welcome 🥰

@hickorydickory20 we sound a little similar… I am 6 weeks tomorrow and I’m sure on my son who’s now 5, my sickness started then! But at the moment I’ve had hardly any nausea and no sickness 🙏🏽🙌🏽

I also had loads of plans of getting fit and healthy and to lose weight.. and I also wanted to continue that even when pregnant as I don’t want to be putting on 4 stone like I did with my son 😳🥴

I’ve just been on walks rather than doing workouts, but I am planning on going back to the gym asap (haven’t been since November because of how busy I was over Xmas) I’m just sooo tired too!

so hoping it eases off but I have a while to go 😂🤦🏻‍♀️! xx

hickorydickory20 · 03/01/2024 17:59

@LottieW93 Wow that is so parallel to me, because yes I also put on 4 stone in my first pregnancy, I lost 3 stone during maternity leave having plenty of time to walk but now sit a little higher in weight since being back at work for the past 1 year, hence the desire to get fit!

I hope the nausea/sickness doesn’t come for you. I was hopeful to not get any this pregnancy but I think 6-7 weeks is prime time to have it start.

LottieW93 · 03/01/2024 18:40

@hickorydickory20 omg wow haha! That happened to me well I lost all my baby weight and more.. I was obsessed though 🤦🏻‍♀️ went down to an unhealthy weight (I’ve never had a good relationship with food and my body) so as you can imagine being pregnant and the putting on weight part is quite hard for me. And I also put on weight this year after I got married in April (had way too much fun eating drinking and celebrating 😂)
But what are you meant to do! I’m actually going counselling this month. Hoping it will help 🤞🏽

yeah we shall see. I am preparing for the worst anyway with the sickness etc! Xxx

FluffyKitty007 · 03/01/2024 18:56

@Fawklight sorry to hear you feel this way but your feelings and thoughts while valid are just thoughts and feelings. They don’t have to be rational. I think so early on it might be hard for the news to sink in. I’ve been reading a lot in the last few weeks. In one audiobook the author who’s actually an Australian celebrity admitted she didn’t feel an immediate love and connection when her first child was born. I think it might be more common than we think.

I had a booking in appointment today and I found the midwife extremely supportive so I would definitely recommend speaking to her openly when you have a chance

SnookyPook · 03/01/2024 19:02

@SunSparkle @graceinc22 @CharTT33 thank you so much! Happy to report that there is a healthy looking pregnancy still and a good heartbeat 💕 So relieved. They couldn't find any obvious cause for the spotting but they've prescribed progesterone pessaries due to my loss history too so I'll start those this eve. Still measuring a week behind my dates (so currently 8wks rather than 9) but given the consistent growth since last scan and the likelihood for late ovulation/implantation, they seemed perfectly happy. I've now officially passed the gestation that all 3 losses had reached so that feels like a positive milestone. They've booked me for another scan in a couple of weeks so that will hopefully tide me over until the 12wk scan. I was absolutely convinced today that it would be bad news so now readjusting to some renewed hope. 💕

For anyone worrying about lack of symptoms, I still have nothing really aside from achey boobs and gassiness. No vomiting and not even nausea this time (which I had with my DS). Bit more fatigued but also nothing like my previous pregnancy. However, scanwise all is looking great. So definitely a reminder that lack of symptoms doesn't have to be a bad thing! Just wishing I could be less anxious so I could enjoy it more!!! Seems a waste of an easy first trimester!!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Xx

SunSparkle · 03/01/2024 19:07

@SnookyPook ive been checking back all day for news from you and I couldn’t be happier to see your update. I’m glad they’ve got you in for another scan and also the progesterone. It really feels like you’re doing everything you can to help little Bean stick. Dates wise that sounds positive too.

you must feel so relieved today. When is your next scan? How are you feeling about it all?

hope everyone is doing well!

I ended up being sick for most of December, fun! We flew to Spain to stay with my in laws when I hardly had any energy to get up and our flight was delayed so we were sitting at the airport for 8 hours 🙄

I was really looking forward to some sun but I left the house maybe 3 times in nearly two weeks. We told some family and friends. And good we did because I threw up on the street when visiting friends on Mallorca 😬

today I had my booking in appointment at 8 weeks. The hospital and staff were lovely and there is even a healthy food store full of affordable fruit and veg right next to the prenatal unit. I also got my flu and covid vaccines.

what I didn’t expect was discussing my mental health and my dysfunctional birth family but again, the midwife was incredibly nice and supportive.

FluffyKitty007 · 03/01/2024 19:14

I’ve been also planning on keeping up with the gym but so far getting up is enough of a challenge 🤣hope it gets better soon so I can at least go for a swim
