Hey everyone hope all your pregnancies are going well. I am a massive over thinker but was just wondering if anyone else just doesn’t feel pregnant at all?
I also have an anterior placenta so I haven’t felt anything yet either 😭 my 20 week scan is on Tuesday and the anxiety is killing me x

CharTT33 · 07/03/2024 20:35

Hey @Anxiousfirstpregnancy im exactly the same, Except my placenta is low down. I feel super anxious all the time any downtime I get I spend it googling .. my 20 week scan should have been any time from the 19th of March but they are giving me my 20 week Scan in my 22nd week… livid. This doesn’t help my anxiety at all as I have to wait an extra two weeks for the scan. I think I have felt fluttering and sometimes pulsing but again I’m not sure because it’s my first pregnancy so nothing to compare it too even though the midwife seems to think it is baby ..

Anxiousfirstpregnancy · 08/03/2024 12:22

Hi @CharTT33oh no!! I would be fuming too. What about going for a private scan? I did one at 16 weeks but the wait inbetween then and now has been terrible. Sometimes I think was that something and then I don’t feel anything. I just want Tuesday to hurry up now. It’s also my first pregnancy too so I have no idea either. Fingers crossed your time doesn’t drag xx

Hi @Isitisit and @bobbles4091 I wondered how you were getting on after the 12 week scans and raised NT results? I am an interloper from the September thread. I am waiting for my NIPT results but it was very clear to me at the accompanying scan (10w6d although measuring 11w0d) that there was a significantly large NT.

(I also noticed it at a scan at 9w2d and asked the sonographer about it; she said she couldn’t say anything because I wasn’t 11 weeks.)

I have my 12 week scan next Tuesday and I’m sick as a parrot about it. The NIPT clinic (Concepto) called me yesterday, I thought it was with the results, but it was just to check my email address and to say they’d received the sample! So I am not sure when I will receive the results. But I am very worried that given what I saw at the scans, plus being over 40, that it may not be good news.

I hope things are going ok for you both Thanks

Hello!
Sorry, I've only just spotted your message, and sorry you've had this experience. I know first hand how incredibly stressful and upsetting it is.
We had excellent news which I hope might give you some hope. By our 12 week scan the NT had reduced to 1.8mm, so well within the normal range. The NIPT came back low risk for everything and our specialist scan found nothing out of the ordinary at this stage. We've since had a 16 week heart scan as I was so traumatised by the whole thing they agreed to keep me on the foetal medicine pathway for a while - that also showed absolutely nothing.
I'd scared myself silly reading medicine journals but in truth, there's no evidence about what increased NT at 10 weeks does or doesn't mean. I'd asked the consultant why the NT might have been raised at 10 weeks to which he asked me 'how is a baby knitted together in those first 12 weeks?' I said 'I've no idea' and he said 'neither do we, it's witchcraft', which I thought made sense. There's so many variables and so much not known about those first weeks. I didn't think there was a world where I could come out of the appointment feeling reassured (I was convinced we were heading for a TFMR), but he said my risk was now lower than the general population now because I'd had the extra testing.
I really hope your experience is the same as mine. But if not, there are at least 3 or 4 women on the August Facebook thread who are on this pathway due to increased NT at 12 weeks, and to my knowledge there's only one who's found anything non typical. Sending love for next week 💕

FlitterBug · 14/03/2024 10:56

Hi all! congratulations everyone! I’m pregnant with my 5th baby due mid august but feel super small compared to all other pregnancies. anyone else had This? Also still haven’t had any movements! I wasn’t thinner or fitter than last time! If anything I’d say I was fatter around the tummy to begin with this time. Anyone else had the same?

Winnie14 · 18/03/2024 16:22

I hope everyone is doing OK. We had our 20 week scan today and it all seemed to be going perfectly until the sonographer spotted a potential heart anomaly called an ARSA (aberrant right subclavian artery). They have referred us to another hospital so it can be looked at by a consultant.

I have done a lot of googling since and found out that among other things, it can be a soft marker for Downs Syndrome, although our 12 week screening came back low risk. It can also cause swallowing and feeding issues as the artery presses against the trachea.

Just looking for a hand hold really as we wait to be contacted by the consultant. I feel sick to my stomach worrying about our baby’s health and future.

SnookyPook · 18/03/2024 16:41

@Winnie14 oh what a shock for you. I'm really sorry to hear that. Do you know what sort of waiting time you'll be looking at with the consultant? Not sure if you're on our FB group but there are a couple of the Mummies on there who have had additional heart scans and one with a confirmed DS little one and I'm sure any of them would be happy to PM you with a bit more knowledge on the topic and how the scan might go etc. It's great that everything else was looking good but I can imagine this issue has overridden all that a bit until you have a better idea of what's going on. 💕

Winnie14 · 18/03/2024 18:02

@SnookyPook thank you for your lovely words. They said we’d be contacted in a few days, so not sure exactly how long we’ll be waiting but hopefully will hear something this week. No, I’m not in the FB group but it would be so helpful to hear from others who have experienced similar, what’s the name?

EMJL · 18/03/2024 18:08

@Winnie14 here's the link for our Facebook group lovely, I can approve your request. We're a very friendly bunch and hopefully you'll find some advice/comfort/reassurance from some of the other Mummies in our group!xx

I'm the exact same, I have had zero symptoms, no bump or any movement (I have a posterior placenta) I had my 20 week scan last week and everything was perfect!

Had our 20 week scan today, seems we're having a healthy little girl...and a very wriggly one at that! Hope everyone else's scans go ok 💐

CatLadyH · 19/03/2024 21:30

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join this group. Due 28th August with 3rd baby 😀

Hello there, I'm also expecting number 3 in august! How old are your other two?

MrsS26189 · 29/03/2024 08:39

Hi, I have 2 boys, 8 & 5! You?

Apraisechorus · 29/03/2024 08:44

I have a boy who will be 6 and a girl who will be about to turn 4. Found out that this is another little boy 🙂. I'm mainly excited now but have the odd moment of panic here and there! This will definitely be our last baby so it's a bit of a strange feeling in some ways.

I hope your pregnancy has been going smoothly!

MrsS26189 · 29/03/2024 21:16

Awww, lovely! Were having a surprise and think this will probably be our last aswell. Had a bit of nausea to begin with and terrible sciatica but that's all eased now and tbh don't even feel like I'm pregnant! Think it will feel more real once I feel baby moving about and get a proper bump, currently feel in between fat and pregnant 🤣

How has yours been 3rd time round?

Mh0509 · 30/03/2024 02:23

Hi, I’m due 22nd august with my first child. 20 week scan is next Thursday and feeling very nervous as it’s all new to me!

BabiesInBattleJackets · 30/03/2024 05:54

Helloooooo

Im currently 19 weeks (as of today) pregnant with my first wee one! Had some super bad anxiety with my pregnancy so far but my maternity team have been so lovely and reassuring. Just looking to make some fellow mumma friends as I don’t have any friends with babies around me atm.

Im 27 and live in Northern Ireland for reference.

hope you all have a lovely easter weekend in the meantime!! 💕💕
