@SunSparkle ah that's great! That's so reassuring 💕 I was measuring a week behind at my last one so hoping for similar catch-up! My next one is on 10th Jan and I'm similarly nervous as currently in MMC territory - my April loss has stopped developing at 7+5 but I didn't find out until 11+4... Eager and terrified for scan in equal measure! Booking appointment on 5th here. X

LottieW93 · 31/12/2023 15:13

@Fawklight no that’s not me in June 21! Must be someone else with a similar name maybe?

thanks for everyone’s advice on the c section vs vaginal… I do feel very strongly that it’ll be a c section! All my pros are outweighing the cons and I just feel sooo negative about letting myself go naturally and going with my body. I think if I still have this mindset nearer the time too my decision will def be a caesarean xx

PolkaDotDot · 01/01/2024 16:15

@SunSparkle thank you for making the new thread! That's great news from your most recent scan ❤️

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and a happy new year! I'm about 6 and a half weeks and have been feeling good overall but having some nausea most days. I didn't have it in my pregnancy with my first. The fatigue has really hit me this week too - going to struggle with the return to work I think!

Fawklight · 01/01/2024 17:12

Finally getting an early scan after convincing my husband. Saturday at one

SunSparkle · 01/01/2024 18:26

@Fawklight hope it goes well for you. How many weeks will you be?

@SnookyPook good luck on the 10th. I’m back for another scan on the 11th. I need the constant reassurance this time rather than being blindsided again. I really hope it’s good news for us both and we bring home babies this year.

desperately need more elasticated waistbands in my life. Not really any bigger but anything tight makes me so sick!

@Fawklight im so happy you’re having an early scan! Some reassurance. Let us know how it goes ❤️

brbttc · 02/01/2024 09:46

@bobbles4091 I'm going to have the NIPT done. Had it done with DC1.

I'm 6+3 today with an EDD of 24th Aug. I've just booked my 1st scan for Jan 12th when I'll be 7+6.

My boobs are still so sore and massive. The hunger-oh the hunger!! Cannot eat enough. So so tired too 😴

Feel like my symptoms are a lot more this time around compared to DC1.

winterspinach · 02/01/2024 11:42

Hi ladies! I’m 7w4 today and feeling less nauseated than I was last week but i have these lower back aches that make it very uncomfortable to find a good position to sit in 😅 is this normal for anyone else? xx

Hello98765 · 02/01/2024 12:09

Is anyone else having no early scans and waiting until their 12 weeks?

SnookyPook · 02/01/2024 12:33

@Hello98765 I did that with my DS and all went fine 😊 Just more wary this time round due to previous losses. But the odds are very much in your favour for waiting and they can see so much more at the 12wk one. 💗

Duffy23 · 02/01/2024 12:45

Im 6 weeks tomorrow. Still feels so surreal. I'm 38 & will be 39 a few weeks before I have the baby. I am so nervous about the babies health & mine I nearly died the last time I gave birth.

Also my boobs are killing me!

Karinx · 02/01/2024 12:53

Just popping in so I get the updates for this new thread 😊

I have been feeling so rough the past few days, painful trapped wind mixed with cramps has been unpleasant 😳 nausea set in on NYE but seems to have settled for now, I am only 5+5 though so I'm sure it will be back soon!

I'm thinking of booking an early scan around 8 weeks just for a bit of peace of mind more than anything

Fawklight · 02/01/2024 12:54

@winterspinach i have had very little nausea this pregnancy (Early days though as I'm 6 weeks today)
My back though OMG. I cannot get comfortable at night time at all. I had the same last pregnancy, I needed to be prescribed painkillers 😬

Duffy23 · 02/01/2024 12:57

I'm literally a day ahead of you! xxx

EMJL · 02/01/2024 13:23

@Hello98765 I'm waiting for my 12 week scan, did the same with my son. It's very tempting but I can't justify the expense at the moment. I'm 8+1 today and my 12 week scan is 2nd feb!x

Welshgal85 · 02/01/2024 13:24

@Hello98765 I’m waiting for the 12 week scan, just over 2 weeks to go but feels like ages!

jellyfish2 · 02/01/2024 15:16

Hello98765 · 02/01/2024 12:09

Is anyone else having no early scans and waiting until their 12 weeks?

Hi I'm 7 weeks today and although tempted by an early scan I think we're going to wait. I didn't have any other scans with my first apart from NHS ones.

fr4zzledmum · 02/01/2024 16:27

Ooh second thread!

I'm quite frankly feeling pretty sorry for myself at the minute. I'm 8 + 4, feeling sick all day but not actually being sick, zero energy and have a 4 year old that has become super clingy and shouts me EVERY night to sleep in her bed.

Midwife appt tomorrow 😴

fr4zzledmum · 02/01/2024 16:29

Fawklight · 30/12/2023 15:03

@Duffy23 I told work already because either way I need time off.

I just have like 0 symptoms and feel like there's something wrong. I'm going to talk to the midwife about it in my booking appointment.

My husband won't agree to early scans and I kinda wish he wouldn't come with me to the booking appointment so I can just talk. He's a glass half full kinda guy so doesn't think there's anything to worry about. But then he's not the one carrying 🤷

You may find that your midwife subtly encourages your husband not to attend any future midwife appts - they use these as an opportunity for a welfare check on mum too.

If you didn't want him there, you could just say it's not allowed/it's just a boring appt going through history and symptoms (which it is).

fr4zzledmum · 02/01/2024 16:34

Hello98765 · 02/01/2024 12:09

Is anyone else having no early scans and waiting until their 12 weeks?

I'm not having any early scans and didn't with my DD.

Hello98765 · 02/01/2024 16:35

Okay great! good to see I am not the only one. Online it feels like almost everyone is getting early scans, sometimes multiple early scans! Almost feels like tempting fate, even though three more weeks does feel so long to go.

PolkaDotDot · 02/01/2024 19:47

Anyone else having mild cramps that come and go? I remember having quite painful cramping when I was pregnant with my DD between 5 and 6 weeks so I know it can be normal. The cramps I'm having aren't painful per se but are achey and feel like the kind you get before your period is about to come on.

SunSparkle · 02/01/2024 20:30

@Hello98765 you definitely don’t need an early scan. I didn’t in my first pregnancy but after my miscarriage it’s been very reassuring. But don’t feel obliged! Your 12 week scan you can see so much more than you can early on.

Fawklight · 02/01/2024 20:47

@Hello98765 I'm sorry your feeling preasured. I'm getting an early scan because I don't feel connected to this pregnancy to the point I'm waiting to bleed. I have nightmares nearly every night that I'm miscarrying.

I have nearly no symptoms, and I genuinely believe the pregnancy is dead.

This could be because I was expecting it to take longer to get pregnant. It took nearly a year last time. Or it could be because my anxiety is extremely high. For me the first step is having an early scan, I can then talk to a midwife to see if there's any counseling service they can offer me because as far as im concerned. This was a very much wanted pregnancy and I shouldn't be feeling this way and I know I have no rights to feel this way.

I'm going to take a break for a while from Mumsnet I think.

CharTT33 · 02/01/2024 21:49

Hey guys,

Ive found you all again! Loool! I’m currently 9 weeks 1 days had an appointment with the midwife today just for bloods etc but Friday I have my booking appt and another early scan as I’ve have 3 previous MC. I’ve had two scans already…

Im constantly nervous and anxious! I literally over think every symptom or lack off. I have not really been one to experience nausea or vomiting…

boobs are sore, veiny, terrible acid reflux, fatigue, had cramps earlier on in both lower back and lower abdomen, weeing all the time, thrush, mood swings, tingly boobs, bloating… just no sickness really…

Wishing US all the best! ❤️❤️❤️
