Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

Good morning ladies.
I'm delighted to say our beautiful little girl arrived this morning at 11:53 pm!
It wasn't as plain sailing as first induction. Happy to message people privately if people want to know.just enjoying our newborn bubble 🥰🥰🩷

Congratulations @Elmlee 🥰🍾🎉👶
Enjoy the newborn bubble with your little girl and family.

oop · 04/06/2024 08:06

Ah massive congratulations @Elmlee ! Sorry it wasn't as smooth as you hoped but hope you're doing okay ❤️

I had yet another false alarm last night. Strongest one yet and the contractions were quite painful. But it all stopped after a few hours as usual. Hoping it's a good sign though.

Congratulations @Elmlee! Lovely news to wake up to. Hope you're enjoying those newborn cuddles and that your recovery goes smoothly Flowers

Lovely to hear from you as well @cosylife, glad things are going well ❤️

I'm 'only' 37+4 but I'm getting quite impatient now! I've never been very good at being patient to be fair 😅

My first labour was like this. Three nights of mildly painful, semi-regular contractions that tailed off as soon as morning came. Then when I went into labour proper it went like a rocket! So I guess all that practicing my body did was good for something other than lack of sleep 😅

Ah I'm hoping all this nonsense will lead to a faster labour this time! That would be nice haha.
Although I think when it does eventually happen I'll be in denial and in absolutely no rush to get to hospital or sort out childcare because I won't believe it's actually happening 🙈

One June baby here to report 🥰😍

Our beautiful baby boy was born Tuesday at 4pm 38+2 weighing 3.8kg (exactly as per growth scan prediction). The induction was taking time, I arrived on Sunday and on first and second day there was not much progress but then Tue morning (after I had no sleep first night and amazing sleep second night) they were able to break the waters. It took some hours to get to 4 cm, I didn’t need the drip as with my first induction and contemplated an epidural but after 4 cm everything happened so fast and my baby was born in 45 mins with gas and air. I won’t lie I was begging for an epidural which I had with my first but it was too late as I only properly pushed a couple of minutes. Baby was born extremely quickly in the end, the two midwives were surprised it happened so quickly and it was as slightly dramatic but I had such an urge to push. I had some tears unfortunately but they will heal, I was so happy to have baby here safely. We’ve gone through 4 miscarriages in the last 4 years so I’m feeling incredibly grateful and happy that our baby got here safely. He’s been doing good on the post natal ward, has passed his first sugars and although initially didn’t seem interested in feeding has now latched on. He’s being monitored for slightly fast breathing, not sure if it was the speed everything happened but all the tests have passed so far. I think we’ll likely stay until Thursday as after gestational diabetes they want to test sugars for baby after 24 hrs and won’t discharge late in the evening. My other son turns 12 today (yes I’m re-learning all the baby stuff now!!) and his brother just made it out a day before not quite sharing the birthday but we’ll celebrate here at the hospital later today with cake (which I can finally eat after the gestational diabetes is finished)!

hope everyone is doing well!

Woohoo, congratulations @May5th! Your new DS shares a birthday with my Mum 😊 I hope everything goes smoothly with getting discharged tomorrow, and enjoy the cuddles and cake 🥰

Suchardchoccy · 05/06/2024 09:24

@May5th congratulations!! 💙 thank you for sharing your experience too!

CheeseWisely · 05/06/2024 09:38

Congratulations @May5th! 💕

I had contractions start last night as soon as we got into bed and am currently stretched out on the couch, part watching last nights Sewing Bee and part dozing in between deep breathing and tracking!

Fingers crossed this phase isn't too long! We're only a 3 minute drive from the hospital so at least no worries when we're ready to go we'll be there almost immediately.

DanisEndo · 05/06/2024 10:06

Eeeeee massive congrats @May5th !!

PurpleIsTheColour · 05/06/2024 14:01

Good morning ladies, I finally managed to find some time to update you all ☺️

Our little baby boy arrived on his planned section date last Friday at 39 weeks +1 and weighing 3.150kg🥰🥰 he is absolutely perfect and we are all so in love with him❤️ Recovery wise is all going okay, had to stay another day in hospital due to some bladder issues but we’ve been home since Sunday night and it’s just so nice that it’s all over now and we finally have him! 🥰

wishing all of you the very best of luck with your births and keeping fingers crossed you all meet your littles ones very soon xx

DanisEndo · 05/06/2024 21:54

Amazing @PurpleIsTheColour 💗 massive congrats to you and your little one!

CheeseWisely · 05/06/2024 22:56

Evening Ladies! Our little boy arrived late this afternoon in dramatic enough fashion that there was no time for pain relief and I wasn't even allowed gas and air at the end 😫😫

Not quite the gentle Hypnobirthing water delivery with starry lights and soft rainforest sounds that we'd hoped for but he's so cute I've already forgotten (almost).

Lucky enough to get a private hospital room so now after circa 48 hours awake aside from a couple of disrupted naps I'm just sitting here eating jelly tots and staring at him until morning Blush

oop · 06/06/2024 07:39

Ah congratulations @CheeseWisely and @PurpleIsTheColour . How exciting!

I'm currently a week overdue and in at the moment for reduced movements this morning, literally couldn't feel anything which was quite alarming. She's moved a little bit since we got in. Feeling some tightenings now too.

Edgeofthesea · 06/06/2024 07:43

@PurpleIsTheColour Congratulations, so glad to hear of a safe planned arrival, and that you're home now 😊

@CheeseWisely That sounds a little stressful, sorry it didn't quite go as planned but I'm glad you're in your newborn bubble! Why weren't you even allowed gas & air at the end???

I'm 41+5 today and have been experiencing sporadic contractions since yesterday evening, really hoping this is the start now and I'm not waiting too long 🙏 I'm booked in for my 42 week scan today and consultant appointment tomorrow but will be cancelling them! My last labours were both 4 days like this though, so I could still be in for the long haul, but DH is staying home with me today and we have childcare in place regardless so I'm just trying to rest and relax into the sensations.

CheeseWisely · 06/06/2024 07:49

@Edgeofthesea The little rascal had done a hefty poo in his waters so in the end he really needed to be out asap and the gas was misdirecting where my energy was going, if that makes sense? I was exhaling into the mouth piece rather than using that breath to bear down and push.

Fingers crossed things get moving for you soon!

Mountainview8 · 06/06/2024 09:11

Congratulations to all the new arrivals!
Our little boy arrived 1.14am yesterday, my waters broke 5am Monday morning, regular contractions Monday evening, so over 36h labour. It was only a little trickle of my waters that went so they fully broke them to speed up labour and they kept coming and coming!

MsNeis · 06/06/2024 09:20

Congratulations @May5th , @PurpleIsTheColour and @CheeseWisely 😍🙌🙏💖💐

Wow, this feels like a countdown, now, with so many babies already here!
I'm 40 weeks + 2 days and I've been having irregular contractions for the past three or four days: they are really sporadic, but at nights they can wake me up.

Yesterday I went for monitoring and baby was absolutely fine. They told me now it's just a matter of waiting... I'm a bit nervous, because I can feel things are moving, but I can't know how slow or quickly it will go!

Edited to add congratulations to @Mountainview8 too! 😍💐👏

Thriving30 · 06/06/2024 09:24

Eeee! It's so exciting seeing all these babies being born!! I'm getting really impatient and I'm just at 37 weeks!! Had another growth scan yesterday and was told baby girl estimated weight is 7.3lbs already.. Do we think she will grow much more??!! I don't know how I'm going to push her out 😱
