Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

36 week checks went well! Growth is in line with last few scans around the 30percentile, she’s head down. Started talking birth plan with the midwife. Got some colostrum syringes to start collecting.
Other than the house still being a mess feeling like we’re almost ready!

Suchardchoccy · 31/05/2024 15:43

36+6 today and I've got 2 full syringes in the freezer. Cot and Moses are both up, made and covered all ready for her 😍 got a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge too 😅🍾 everything is sterilised and ready to go. Hope everyone is doing okay!

And here I was thinking I had everything done!

Bottle of champagne in the fridge now Grin

Suchardchoccy · 31/05/2024 17:08

@CheeseWisely 🤣🤣🤣🥂

DanisEndo · 31/05/2024 20:02

Champagne in the fridge is a level of ready I am not 😂😂 I still need to sort and put away all the gifts from the baby shower. Sheets on her beside bed. Pack our hospital bags. Oh and get a couple sleep sacks!!

what tog does everyone have? I feel so lost not knowing how hot or cold it’s going to be and how to make sure she’s comfortable.

CheeseWisely · 31/05/2024 20:14

@DanisEndo We've got 2 x 1 tog and 3 x 2.5 tog in 0-6 months. I saved the below guide that I found on Instagram the other day if it's helpful to anyone!

My DS1 was too wee for 0-6 months grobags for quite a while and he was a nightmare for kicking his blankets off so after a week of no sleep I bought a grosnug which was amazing! Our house is quite cool so we went for the 2.5 tog, then when he was big enough for proper sleeping bags we had a selection of 2.5 and 1 tog.

DanisEndo · 31/05/2024 21:33

@CheeseWisely @Wheeeeee thank uou so much that’s actually sooo helpful! Everything else I’ve seen is a range of 0.5 - 3.5 tog and I just couldn’t see why you’d need 6 different togs in 0-3months!!!

oop · 31/05/2024 21:44

Agree RE grosnugs for little newborns. I had 2.5 tog (called "cosy") for my end of September baby but I've bought the "light" (1 tog) for this baby as our bedrooms get warm.
I generally find 1 or 1.5tog is good for spring and summer with a 0.5 tog maybe for heatwave nights. Then 2.5 tog in autumn and winter. You can adjust their clothing layers within this if they feel too warm or cold.

Thanks @oop there’s so many options it’s crazy

FantasticMissFox · 01/06/2024 01:46

39 weeks today and I've just realised the champagne isn't in the fridge! This will be rectified as a priority Smile

CheeseWisely · 01/06/2024 08:25

Due date today! I've had a little word and told he or she that it's their birthday and they're in danger of missing it! Grin

Tomorrow is a significant family date for us too though, so that would also be a serendipitous day to arrive.

Today I'll be mostly bouncing on my ball, out for a walk or having a curry GrinGrin

JunglePrint · 01/06/2024 09:51

Hi all, I am an interloper as I’m only six months pregnant but the next three months feels SO long and SO far away, I thought I’d read this thread to see what it’s like once you’re closer to the finishing line! I can’t wait to be at the point of putting champagne in the fridge and I have everything crossed for you today @CheeseWisely!

@15rainbow I was really taken by your story as you have been through so much. I hope all is well and you’re doing okay 😊

Elmlee · 01/06/2024 10:04

Nothing much to report at present awaiting another examination.
Fingers crossed things will progress by this evening.
We shall see 😭

Suchardchoccy · 01/06/2024 10:43

🤣🤣 tbh it was on an old thread I was reading a someone said she had put a bottle of fizz in the fridge and I was like brilliant idea!!

Suchardchoccy · 01/06/2024 10:44

Oh with the sleeping bags, I think we've just got two 1 togs 🤔 I hope this is enough. Who knows what the weather is going to be like

Suchardchoccy · 01/06/2024 10:45

@Elmlee I hope things progress for you today 🤞🏻🤞🏻

15rainbow · 01/06/2024 10:51

@JunglePrint I'm doing great thanks, to the point that me and my dog won reserve campions at an agility cup final yesterday. I didn't think I'd still be running around at 37 weeks let alone winning 😂 I was in hospital for 2 days with the bleeding then it stopped and I was discharged, they never found the cause but everything is fine. I'm still finding everything a bit surreal to be honest. Not long to go now! Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy

oop · 01/06/2024 14:23

Baby had engaged again today (40 +2) so midwife managed to do a sweep. 1cm dilated but cervix still quite far back so we'll see. It was not a pleasant experience 😂. Definitely a June baby after all anyway!

@15rainbow that's impressive! I stopped agility at 24 weeks in my last pregnancy (unrelated reason) and by that point I could barely run 😂

@Elmlee fingers crossed for you!

Omg.. champagne is now my top priority, I love this haha ! Who needs a packed hospital bag !

Hope things have started too progress @Elmlee

I didn't know newborns could go in sleep bags 😅 I just swaddled mine in blankets. You live and you learn eh !

Elmlee · 01/06/2024 20:28

Pretty crap over here tbh.
Still in, had pessary and x2 lots of gel so small twinges and slight change with cervix but not much forward 😪😪
Trying not to get to disheartened...

MsNeis · 01/06/2024 20:36

@Elmlee 🍀🙏💚💐

MizzMarple · 01/06/2024 21:00

Sorry it’s not going quickly Elmlee. Fingers crossed it gets going soon. Good luck for everyone else who’s going to have their baby soon.

I'm feeling very sorry for myself as I’ve been admitted because of hyperemesis. Vomiting this much at almost 37 weeks can fuck off.

Edgeofthesea · 02/06/2024 04:56

Oh no @MizzMarple, I'm sorry, that sounds so awful. How much are you throwing up? Are you feeling any better for being admitted?

I don't have HG, I genuinely don't know how you manage, but I've also thrown up and experienced awful nausea throughout this entire pregnancy. So far, the only weeks I haven't been sick are weeks 35 and currently at week 41, and that has felt debilitating enough :( My mum never threw up in her pregnancies, and with this one and my last, I vomited 3-4 times a day for the first 5 months, so I can relate a little. You are so, so close to the end now though ❤️

beaniesunrise · 02/06/2024 11:44

@Elmlee fingers crossed for you that it progresses soon! & sorry to hear @MizzMarple hope you start feeling better 🙏

hope everyone’s ok, been watching the thread daily anticipating for babies to start appearing!

I’m at 37+3. I’ve had a hard stressful last week.. finished work and then we had builders over for 3 days fixing up our garden (DH wants to get things ready before baby comes), DS came down with an ear infection and flu, so he was out of school for 2 weeks. Of course I’ve ended up catching his cough and been struggling with no sleep since! Tickly uncontrollable cough that makes me pee in the middle of the night has me running to bathroom 6-7 times all night. So running on no sleep as it is.. Also had a scare of reduced fetal movements and possible water breaking last week, so had to go triage at 2am with DH sitting in the car with my sleeping toddler. Thankfully turned out to be all ok.

not to mention my toddler that’s been potty training for last 6 months has started to poop his pants and regress! Along with my cat deciding to poop in the house too instead of outside 🙄🙄🙄 struggling to keep up with all the cleaning and cooking and looking after a 3 year old at this point (so hard in half terms)

feels like my “relaxing maternity/annual leave” has been nothing but stressful.

Got a facial booked this afternoon, hopefully it’ll help me relax a bit 😭 & DS going to school again from tomorrow
