Thanks @suz2285 - I’m still feeling absolutely fine. I don’t have long to wait as my scan is tomorrow morning. Head is saying that I’ve wrote this pregnancy off so many times that it might just be my anxiety because of previous losses. Another part of me says gut feeling is normally right. Just wish I had symptoms to atleast cling on to - even though I know they don’t mean anything x

suz2285 · 19/12/2023 16:54

@Hoping4amiracle glad you've got the scan tomorrow! Let us know how it goes! Fingers crossed for healthy baby 🤞🤞🥰

Brokenpancreas94 · 19/12/2023 17:39

@Hoping4amiracle hope all goes well for you at the scan. My symptoms were coming and going all the time in the early stages

Welcome to all the newbies too!

@tulipsunday by this point I'd had My daughter now, so this going forward is all new to me 😂. Another growth scan tomorrow and consultant...hopefully have some kind of plan in place tomorrow, but we shall see.

Full of cold and heartburn though ha

Hi ladies. I'm hoping for someone to talk to without being judged. I previously posted on mumsnet and didn't feel some people were so nice in their replies .
I've had miscarriages but very early 4-5weeks. I'm currently 9 weeks . Last week I lifted a very heavy box and took cramping and back pain. I've been terrified since and booked a scan but they cancelled on me due to sonographer taking holidays for Christmas. I did a test because I had some lying around and I was curious as I'm going out of my mind waiting until after Christmas. I can't go through this whole Christmas not knowing if my baby is OK or not. The tests were lighter. I know I shouldn't rely on a test this late. It was much much lighter. I diluted it with water and came up bit darker. Without being unkind telling me things I already know about using tests, if I was having another miscarriage would it get darker if I diluted it with water ? Or would that still happen. This is the only pregnancy I've tested beyond. Think is my hcg 2 weeks ago was 8.000 so I'd imagine can't be high enough for hook effect ?
Previous loss has messed with my head
I don't have any bleeding.
But did have cramping at weekend.
Has anyone tried testing while having a miscarriage? Do you have any thoughts. Worried its a mmc

Dodds87 · 19/12/2023 18:18

Top fmu
Bottom is with dilution
Still lighter than previous positives tho

@Dodds87 it's really hard to say, the tests aren't really designed to be used to see if they're darker or not, 8000 is a good level for 2 weeks ago, and without any other signs I'd say it's likely everything is fine

Is there any other place you can try book a scan? Sorry it's so close to Christmas and they cancelled, that's terrible service from them

It probably won't make you feel better but lifting a box will not have caused any damage, baby is so small and well protected so the cramping is just another symptom, I had really bad cramping through the whole first trimester and all was fine

Completely understand the anxiety it's a horrible time when you've got no idea what's going on. The only time I tested after my mc the lines were not there after only a few days, so the way yours are I'd say is totally fine... but I don't know for sure

Dodds87 · 19/12/2023 18:57

@suz2285 sorry to hear of your loss. How many weeks were you ?

I don't have any other facilities to offer scan near me. Closest would be city but my boss won't allow another day off so close to Christmas rush as we had so much time off or ivf and travelling to city would mean a full day off as its a 2 hours drive and traffic is manic.
The early pregnancy unit won't see me unless my cramping is accompanied by bleeding but I'm well aware you can have a mcc with no bleeding

TheBirdintheCave · 19/12/2023 19:00

@Dodds87 I don't think tests can tell you anything at this stage I'm afraid. Mine we still dark with my first miscarriage. Is there anywhere else you can go for a scan?

TheBirdintheCave · 19/12/2023 19:01

@Dodds87 Ah sorry just saw your latest message.

Hoping4amiracle · 19/12/2023 19:26

@Dodds87 i know how you feel - I have a really violent cough and spoke to the consultant about how worried I was that it would hurt the baby. He reminded me that there are pregnant women in war zones and that the babies aren’t as fragile as we think. In a weird way I did take some comfort from that. He said that whether the pregnancy continues or not it won’t be because of anything I did. Same applies to you luv.

So please don’t blame yourself, this journey is hard and it’s painful at times but it’s not your fault. ❤xx

suz2285 · 19/12/2023 19:32

@Dodds87 that's rubbish about work, and yeah the pregnancy unit won't see people without bleeding usually, it's a good sign that you're not bleeding but that doesn't help if you're worried about MMC, I was 8 weeks when I lost mine and the tests went very faint very quickly but I was bleeding and obviously having a MC, it wasn't 'missed' as such...

Could you try and get a scan booked between Xmas and new year if you've got time off work maybe? It's so hard cos no one really knows what's going on so it's hard to be reassuring x

JRTfan · 19/12/2023 20:45

Hi all just joining in if that's ok. I'm 40 ,12 years of TTC 10 rounds of fertility treatment (IUI, IVF etc) 2 miscarriages at 5-6 weeks 1 miscarriage at 8 weeks (empty sac seen at 7 weeks) I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and absolutely bricking it that it'll all go wrong,my brain just won't let me believe this js actually it. Physically I've had no symptoms which hasn't helped my anxiety! Had NHS scan last week and all good but now just counting down until the private scan we have booked in Jan.

Hoping4amiracle · 19/12/2023 21:25

Hello @JRTfan , oh my goodness this has been a difficult journey for you and can completely understand why you are anxious. Really hope this is your time ! Xx

Nushyboots · 20/12/2023 03:47

Hi to all new mums! Just catching up on thread have been flat out at work trying to save for maternity leave 😵‍💫 @Kellyaust your story is a complete snap! Same with me mmc in april and now pregnant with again unplanned #4 due in may! we are staying team yellow till birth as 100% last baby. Was my first loss too and still feel like i can’t trust my body but 20 week scan booked in jan and starting to feel little kicks makes me feel a teensy bit better ( oh and these lovely ladies!)

suz2285 · 20/12/2023 04:35

Welcome @JRTfan wow, what a journey! Amazing that all looked ok at your 12 week scan, that's so good! Totally understand the anxiety though, I hope you can try and relax over Christmas a little though it's so hard! Does your JRT stand for jack russell terriers? 😂

Hey @Nushyboots hope you're good! And yey for tiny teeny baby kicks! Those are the best 🥰

Hoping4amiracle · 20/12/2023 10:25

Had our 8 week scan today and baby is doing well - we were so relieved to see a little heart beating away. X

suz2285 · 20/12/2023 10:36

@Hoping4amiracle great news 🥰🥰

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/12/2023 11:24

@Hoping4amiracle so glad you're scan went well xx

Hoping4amiracle · 20/12/2023 11:44

Thank you ladies - there’s just nothing to beat seeing your wee bubba on a screen. I’m buzzing.

To think some of you will get to hold these little miracles in a couple of weeks is just mind blowing xx

tulipsunday · 20/12/2023 13:06

@Hoping4amiracle that's brilliant news 🥰

@Brokenpancreas94 suffering with heart burn too. Hadn't been so didn't think twice about having a stodgy dinner of risotto and garlic bread yesterday and had heartburn since 🙈

OP posts:
WhiteHorse92 · 20/12/2023 13:15

@Hoping4amiracle that's fantastic news 😊

I've also started to get acid reflux (I assume that's what it is), never had it in first pregnancy and haven't had it in this pregnancy until a few days ago so wasn't expecting it 😅.

Going to try and get another Doctor's appointment tomorrow as even though I feel a bit better I can't seem to shake off this chest infection and don't want to feel like this on XMas Day 😭. To top it off I think the first trimester pregnancy tiredness has returned with a vengeance, really been struggling the last few days to get off the sofa and been having multiple long naps 🙈. My bump's started to feel really big and heavy as well so just difficult to move around in general 🙉

suz2285 · 20/12/2023 13:46

@WhiteHorse92 how far along now?

God yeah I'm nauseous, been on the omeprazole for weeks already! Bump is heavy, everything aches!

I've spent today napping, and still feeling rubbish, hopefully not the start of anything 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/12/2023 14:11

@tulipsunday just breathing sets my heartburn off 😂
Off to growth scan and consultant now x

WhiteHorse92 · 20/12/2023 14:24

@suz2285 35+5 today! I've been snoozing on the sofa all day, don't feel particularly hungry today either, just insanely tired. I think if the nausea ever returned I would cry my eyes out 🙈. Really not going to enjoy the last few weeks feeling like this, I wouldn't mind if the baby came after XMas tbh and I'm not due until the 19th 😅

suz2285 · 20/12/2023 14:27

@WhiteHorse92 same same! I was desperate to just get thro Xmas but I feel so meh now that he can come anytime after Christmas tbh 😂😂

I'm just panicking about feeling rubbish and my bp and the birth 🙈

I'm not hungry either I've hardly been eating the last few weeks! I'm back at the stage of having cereal for dinner when I can't be bothered eating! It's like the first trimester again!
