Hi all new thread as the other one is about to max out.

For all those going through pregnancy after miscarriage/s. Come share your worries and celebrate your milestones with people who can relate to what you are going through 🥰

Thanks both - it’s not something I was prone to prior to pregnancy and notice it does leave a burning feeling back of throat so could be acid reflux rather than sickness.

lol so weird to be sitting here desperate to feel sick 🤢 x

suz2285 · 14/12/2023 19:17

@Hoping4amiracle yeah it's a weird old time wanting to be feeling sick, we've all been there 😂

Sounds like maybe reflux but that can be caused by raised hormones and not everyone feels sick..

tulipsunday · 14/12/2023 20:53

36 week midwife appointment today. She is pretty sure he is head down now..hooray. Maybe the hanging upside down off the sofa helped 😂

@tulipsunday yey! Great news! I've got mine next week

Did you get the chat about harvesting colostrum and the syringes? I'm wanting to start that after Xmas!

tulipsunday · 15/12/2023 07:29

Yes As my son was late and I didn't have much to do I ended up getting quite a lot of colostrum to take into hospital and used it all. Don't be disheartened if you only get a tiny bit at first - it gets easier.

OP posts:
suz2285 · 15/12/2023 08:16

@tulipsunday thanks! I'm not gonna start trying until after Xmas but then see how it goes 😂😂

tulipsunday · 15/12/2023 11:11

@suz2285 good plan 😂

Just catching up on all the posts. After missing my last day at work because of conjunctivitis I then got a chest infection so had to get antibiotics, I feel utterly exhausted and out of breath but think it's to do with the baby putting pressure on my lungs as well as the infection so currently feel pretty crappy 😭

Had 34 week midwife appointment on Monday, fundal height was measuring 2 weeks ahead, she went to check if I needed a growth scan but said I hadn't moved up any centiles so it's fine, but when I was looking through my BadgerNotes that evening I realised she plotted the fundal height on the chart wrong and put 35 instead of 36 so I'm sure at my next appointment if I'm 2 weeks ahead again I'm going to end up having a growth scan 😅. She said baby's head is 3/5 engaged and she's low down and really really pressing on my bladder now, I've had to start wearing Tena Lady everyday now because it's causing me to leak a bit 🙈

I also really want to try colostrum harvesting this time, I've already got some syringes from midwife but she said to wait until 37 weeks so will try then. Didn't do it with my son and he was born with jaundice and got a bit dehydrated and also took a while to get a good latch so feel I'll be better prepared if I have a supply of colostrum I can use to help things along this time 🤞

Starting to feel really real now, can't believe it was back in May I joined this thread and was expecting the worst and we've all been on this journey together and here we are ❤️

tulipsunday · 16/12/2023 07:10

@WhiteHorse92 sorry you have been ill that's rubbish. Sounds like baby girl is making her way down well! Was your son early/late? Wondering if anyone's baby will be here for Xmas!! 😃

I know we have all been on such a journey this year and amazing not long now to go. I felt a little sad remembering my second miscarriage which was this time last year .. going into Xmas feeling a bit empty not knowing what this year would hold. Been amazing to have the support of everyone.

WhiteHorse92 · 16/12/2023 09:02

@tulipsunday I went into labour naturally at 40+1 and gave birth at 40+2 so more or less on time! Everyone keeps telling me how second babies tend to come earlier and I've always said I really don't think she'll come before due date but not so sure now 😅. When I was out shopping the other day she was pushing so low down I thought she was gonna come down the birth canal there and then 😂

Yeah it's a strange feeling. I remember feeling so lonely after the miscarriage but joining this thread has given me such comfort and has really helped in those uncertain early days.

Strawb66 · 16/12/2023 09:08

Hi everyone, hope it's okay if I join! I can really relate to those feeling anxious atm. I had a MMC in 2021 which ended in surgical management. I was really lucky to fall pregnant again quickly afterwards and had my little girl at the end of last year.

I'm now unexpectedly pregnant again with baby no2, I know every pregnancy is different but I can't help but compare this one to my previous 2! With my MMC I had absolutely no symptoms and found out there was no heartbeat at the 12 week scan, with my DD I had severe sickness from 6 weeks pretty much right up until birth. I'm just over 6 weeks now and have had absolutely no symptoms so far, apart from slightly sore boobs right at the start which has now also disappeared. I'm trying to remain positive and just take each day as it comes, it's very hard not to think the worst though atm!

It's so lovely to see so many of you expecting your rainbow babies, wishing everyone a happy and healthy pregnancy.

suz2285 · 16/12/2023 11:15

@WhiteHorse92 prob good that you avoided a scan they're not accurate this late anyway... I've got my 36 week appointment next week and worried about my blood pressure I just want it to all be ok so I can have a chill Xmas 🙈😂 it's getting too close to be issues now!

I'm only 37 weeks at Christmas so hoping that even with any issues it'll be after Christmas before anything happens 😂 I cannot believe we're so close now!! Terrifying!

Also my mum told my sister I'm looking 'puffy' the other day so that is lovely! She hasn't even seen me, just on the phone! She's a midwife and she seems to always go to worst case scenarios even tho everything with me is totally fine and I've told her everything has been checked and I'm fine 😂

Welcome @Strawb66 , hope you're doing ok and congrats on the new surprise 😍 are you planning to have an early scan ?

Strawb66 · 16/12/2023 15:32

@suz2285 thank you! Yes I'm considering an early scan at 8 weeks, which will be just after Christmas. I'm hoping symptoms will ramp up before then, it seems silly hoping for sickness but I feel like that would reassure me a bit that my body was actually doing something!

How exciting that you're nearly full term! I spontaneously went into labour with my DD at 37 weeks so maybe your little one will be joining you before the end of the year! Is this your first?

WhiteHorse92 · 16/12/2023 16:00

@suz2285 totally agree, I had growth scans with my son as they thought he was going to be big, they tend to be inaccurate and as much as it's nice to see the baby on the screen again I'd rather not and I'm not concerned she's actually going to be big 😅

@Strawb66 welcome!

Kellyaust · 16/12/2023 16:06

Hi everyone, hope its OK if I join, just had this link posted on another thread.

I was pregnant with my 4th baby earlier this year but unfortunately ended in an MMC at 12 weeks in may. My first ever experience of a baby loss and it's knocked me for six. I was obsessed with my health and conceiving ASAP.... But this nearly caused a mental breakdown. I took myself away for a day to shake my head.... It worked I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. The next cycle after that (Aug) I fell pregnant again 🎉

It's been a roller-coaster, but I'm now 20+4 and have taken up hypnobirthing.... It is amazing and has changed my whole outlook!!!

Good luck everyone 🎉

P. S.... I'm having my 5th girl 😂💗💗💗💗💗

suz2285 · 16/12/2023 16:28

@Strawb66 there's a few here hoping for sickness 😂 funny position to be in! I'm hoping my guy stays put till after Xmas! And new year tbh 😂 just finished work on Friday so I need a few weeks of chill time!

@WhiteHorse92 for sure! I think at the end there's just so much unnecessary concern re size and various other things that just cause more stress! A few of my Jan group are having inductions for big babies so we'll see what size they actually are!

@Kellyaust welcome and congrats! Wow 5 girls!! Glad you're doing well after a horrible time, it really is a huge rollercoaster isn't it!

Kellyaust · 16/12/2023 16:54

@suz2285 thank you and OOPS I mean 4th girl haha 🤦‍♀️ never know could be 5 in the future 😂

Hoping4amiracle · 16/12/2023 19:01

Hey @Strawb66 im in the same position as you.

i dont have strong symptoms, have had a previous mmc and anxiety levels are through the roof worrying about my scan later in the week. Head tells you that symptoms don’t mean too much but I need the reassurance of feeling pregnant.

It’s lovely reading all these messages as you get closer to your due dates ladies - the excitement is palpable. Hoping you get a chance to put feet up before little ones arrive xx

tulipsunday · 17/12/2023 09:12

Welcome @Strawb66 and @Kellyaust 4th girl wow! Have you got much gap between them or had them close together?

@suz2285 I'm the same - hoping little one will hang in there for a bit My son is back to nursery on Wed 5th Jan have pencilled in the Wed-Fri for some chill so hopefully baby has got the memo 😂

I'm about 12 weeks now got my dating scan in couple of weeks but had an early scan just to put my mind at rest but been feeling alsorts of emotions. How did you find starting all over again ?

tulipsunday · 19/12/2023 06:52

Hello,

Looking for a bit of reassurance, I’m 8 weeks and my symptoms were mild but this morning they are all gone. Slept through the night, didn’t get up to wee once, no breast tenderness, and I can breathe clearly whereas a stuffy blocked nose had been my only constant symptom.

Anyone experience this? Xx

Kellyaust · 19/12/2023 12:02

It's a scary time when you think you're done n then you start all over again so far apart haha I was 36 when I had my 3rd, tbh I mean the birth was a shock to my system and I did find it slightly harder than when I was younger but all in all it's absolutely perfect! I wouldn't have changed it its like my toddler now has 3 mum's coz the older girls mother her and you have live in help to watch baby while you shower etc. I'm now 38 soon to be 39 and 20 weeks pregnant again after a miscarriage in may, I said after my 3rd I was definitely done but hubby made me think twice so here I am again 😂 with regards to the birth, I don't know what tour experiences have been like, but it was a lot harder, so this time I am doing hypnobirthing and I'm actually excited to give birth now!

suz2285 · 19/12/2023 15:04

@Hoping4amiracle it's really hard to say what's normal at this stage, I was def having days where I didn't feel too bad and days where I felt awful and every time I felt
Ok I would panic, but it really doesn't mean anything, how are you now?

@Kellyaust glad you're finding hypnobirthing good, I've done the course but just using the calm breathing for trying to stay calm in the last few weeks and then hopefully will use some of it during labour! We shall see 😂
