@tulipsunday yes that's the plan but he'll not have a clue what to bring so even back ups need to be packed too 😂

@Brokenpancreas94 yes I have the babies bag, my bag and then I'll pack some more clothes in a longer stay bag incase we need more after that! I trust DH to bring the baby clothes in but not mine, I'll be in clothes that don't match or fit 😂🙈

Honestly it's all getting very real now! Feel a bit stressed about the birth already now 😂😂

tulipsunday · 10/12/2023 17:48

@suz2285 yes I know what you mean best to pre pack in case some strange clothing items appear 😂

I know it really is starting to feel close. 36 week midwife appointment will be on Thurs they have said to bring some kind of a birth plan but finding that a bit tricky whilst he is still most likely breech. Guess may have a plan A and plan B and go from there!

suz2285 · 10/12/2023 17:53

@tulipsunday we went over my birth plan last time but tbh I feel like it's going to change 😂 see what happens, you're right though, not much choice if baby is still breech!

I'm so fed up with this swelling and I know
It's not even bad but it's so uncomfortable! I just want it to go away! Been walking on the spot, elevating legs, had a bath, drinking loads, moving my ankles constantly, eugh!

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/12/2023 09:53

@tulipsunday I've got midwife tomorrow, 33 weeks, although I'm not sure if this counts as the 34 week one no idea. I don't even have a birth plan apart from the fact we are aiming for VBAC.

I am so tired today, didn't sleep till gone 3 last night and then up at 730 for the school run 😴

tulipsunday · 11/12/2023 12:28

@suz2285 hope the swelling goes down. @Brokenpancreas94 yikes 3am not good! Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

OP posts:
suz2285 · 11/12/2023 12:32

@tulipsunday it's a bit better today! Did some walking on the spot last night and today been out for a short walk this morning, also did some physio tape on it even tho DH said it's pointless 😂 will do some stretches later! I think the key is maybe short regular walks! 🤞 I feel much better now it's not quite so bad!!

I also slept better last night!

@Brokenpancreas94 also been broken sleep over here for weeks and weeks! I wake up at 4 every morning now, mostly that's me awake for the day, but sometimes I get to go back to sleep about 6 for another hour or so 😂😂

tulipsunday · 12/12/2023 10:19

@suz2285 oh that's good to hear. Just managed a dog walk round the park. Not the most comfortable with aches but reminding myself it may help with baby's positioning to keep active.

Just signed up a 5wk baby massage course starting end of February which should hopefully be a nice thing to do and a chance to meet some people. Feels strange booking something when he isn't here yet but guess will come round quickly.

Hope everyone is doing ok today. Anyone got scans coming up?

TheBirdintheCave · 12/12/2023 10:36

Nothing much going on at the moment here. Just anxiously waiting for some movement as I've felt none this morning. I'm 18+1 today. 20 week scan is next Friday so not too long to go. Still waiting to see a consultant and midwife though sigh.

tulipsunday · 12/12/2023 10:51

@TheBirdintheCave that's good not long to go till the 20wk scan. Hopefully Xmas goings on can distract you a bit. Have you been given an indication as to when you might see a consultant?

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 12/12/2023 10:58

@tulipsunday They cancelled the last two appointments so I'm just waiting on another letter now. It's very annoying.

And yes, Christmas is making everything go really quickly! We're so, so busy though I think over the hill in terms of most of the social engagements now.

The baby massage class sounds good by the way :D How exciting to book something that includes your little one!

Faithincats · 12/12/2023 12:57

I had my dating scan last week (14 weeks tomorrow) so am now in that long stretch to the 20 week scan. Most of my symptoms have either gone or massively reduced, I don't particularly have a bump (beyond the inevitable bloat), and am obviously too early to feel any movement, so at times I'm like... "am I even still pregnant?". Hopefully time will go quickly, with everything being busy with work and family over Christmas. We'll see in Jan if we want to go for a 16/17 week scan. I'd rather stick to the NHS scans, but might be desperate for some reassurance by that point!

TheBirdintheCave · 12/12/2023 13:56

@Faithincats I thought I'd want to have a sixteen week scan but managed to resist. Hopefully you'll feel the same way :)

suz2285 · 12/12/2023 14:12

@tulipsunday think we're gonna do baby sensory, and prob a few other things but haven't signed up to anything yet! 😂 my legs are swollen after a day in the office it's obv time to be done with work! Luckily they appear to be not as bad now I'm home and can rest with my feet up the rest of the day!

@TheBirdintheCave @Faithincats the wait between the 12/20 week scan is the worst as well! Cos you don't feel as bad and you're not feeling movement yet! Hopefully Christmas will be a good distraction for all of us 🎄

Faithincats · 12/12/2023 18:17

It's exactly this, @suz2285! Sigh. @TheBirdintheCave I hope I have your willpower 😊

suz2285 · 12/12/2023 18:26

@Faithincats I found the anxiety around the 20 week scan worse as well as it's the first time they can really see everything more clearly! I was pregnant enough that some people knew and I was anxious about things being wrong! It feels like another big milestone! But getting through the first tri is a huge thing... so try and relax if you can 🤞

Faithincats · 12/12/2023 18:42

Thanks @suz2285, I can definitely relate to feeling more anxious the more people know! I've only told a handful of people so far, mostly on a need-to-know basis, but over Christmas it'll be hard not to tell more (highly unlike me not to be drinking or eating the good cheeses!), which feels like added pressure, somehow? We didn't abide by the 12 week "rule" in previous pregnancies but this time around I feel more nervous about going public, even though this is the furthest we've made it.

tulipsunday · 13/12/2023 13:55

@Faithincats think that's really understandable. I didn't really enjoy telling people this time round as didn't feel confident things were going to be different. Just tried to think of it as it being a support network in case the worst was to happen.

Hey all, glad to hear you are all doing ok and progressing well! We are back from our babymoon and feeling so relaxed and refreshed. Bit extravagant to do right before Xmas 😅 but we're so glad we did it. Still no movements for me! I am 22 weeks now but really feel bump has popped loads and I'm still holding onto the good news from the 20 wk scan. Keeping my fingers crossed for some flutters as a Christmas present 🤞🏼❤️🎄

Brokenpancreas94 · 13/12/2023 18:59

@sweetpotato29 glad you enjoyed your baby moon!

I'm feeling sorry for myself lol..I'm aching loads and not sleeping, GP prescribed me codeine today but chemist didn't have the prescription in 🙄

Had midwife yesterday, still no fundal measurement but heard his heartbeat...although he kept moving away from the doppler haha. He's head is quite low down too, with his bum in the air, amazes me how they can tell where they are positioned just from a light touch of the belly lol.

@tulipsunday have another growth scan next Wednesday! Hoping to have some kind of plan decided at this appointment too.

tulipsunday · 14/12/2023 11:17

Aw @Brokenpancreas94 Sorry you aren't feeling great and not sleeping well. I said to my husband I woke up really early today and he was like I know you didn't stop fidgeting 😂 Hope your next scan goes well.

@sweetpotato29 baby moon sounds amazing. What a good idea. Glad it was relaxing

Hello ladies, can I ask for an opinion? I was out for a bit of Christmas lunch and shopping with mum and sister and after eating I kept bringing back up a little bit of food - not a lot, enough to have to spit out into a hankerchief and this happened four times. Is that morning sickness or pregnancy related or am I clutching at straws? Xx

tulipsunday · 14/12/2023 18:42

@Hoping4amiracle yes it could be. 🤞 is a good sign.

OP posts:
suz2285 · 14/12/2023 18:43

@Hoping4amiracle it could be, but it's hard to say! It is common to have gastric issues with the increase in hormones though! Bloating, reflux etc! Esp in the first tri when the hormones ramp up quickly!
