@tulipsunday she had spina bifida 😥

Michah89 · 16/11/2023 13:10

@suz2285 they treating me for UTI I could pee so haven't done pregnancy test yet I'm going to wait abit for but before Sophie I had miscarriage I was only 7weeks pregnant so that wasn't as bad as losing Sophie but I no I can get pregnant and have healthy pregnancies as I already have 2 daughter's just not sure if it's because of my age but they keeping me on folic acid so plenty in my system untill I get pregnant again after the miscarriage I was pregnant again 5weeks after so who knows hopefully it will happen soon

Michah89 · 16/11/2023 13:11

I mean I couldn't pee lol

suz2285 · 16/11/2023 13:19

@Michah89 have you done a home pregnancy test? If not then wait a while and do one of those? It might not be positive yet though if it's only been 4 weeks... Good idea to stay on the folic acid for sure. what age are you? There is some increased risk but hopefully if you are pregnant again then everything will go smoothly like you say.

Michah89 · 16/11/2023 13:22

@Brokenpancreas94 no not yet

Nushyboots · 16/11/2023 17:26

@Michah89 taking folic acid is a great idea - i started taking folic acid along with COq10 & omega 3 as suggested by dr as will help with egg health for those of us heading into egg reserve decline ( he called it) after my miscarriage. Takes at least 30 days to affect the egg due

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/11/2023 17:46

@Michah89 I agree with @Nushyboots I was put on folic acid before I even conceived x

Nushyboots · 16/11/2023 17:47

@suz2285 my NIPT results came back as low risk - which is such a relief!! thanks for the reassurance( think low Papp-a and my age were the culprits) so been advised may need growth scans but otherwise should be fine…

suz2285 · 16/11/2023 18:04

@Nushyboots great news! Glad you're getting scans too, did they advise you to take aspirin? If not I'd ask...

They'll keep a close eye, one of my pals had low Papp-a but baby was totally fine on all the growth scans, he was only 5lb 15 when he was born at about 39 weeks but he's doing great!

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/11/2023 18:48

Glad your results came back as low risk @Nushyboots xx

Nushyboots · 16/11/2023 21:02

@suz2285 @Brokenpancreas94 thank you-I haven't be advised aspirin but will ask! With last pregnancy had low Papp-a and had to have growth scans- our DS was born at 39+6 at 6lbs 7.. and wasnt on aspirin or flagged for further screening🤔 must be the difference of being 35 vs 38 🤣

Michah89, just trying to catch up on some threads on here and came across this thread with the picture of your beautiful daughter, Sophie. I wanted to say how sorry I am that you have lost her. Life can be so cruel and makes no sense sometimes. There are no words good enough really! I wish you peace and better times ahead.

Michah89 · 16/11/2023 22:41

@Longbarn5 thanks very much for Ur kind words

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/11/2023 22:45

@Nushyboots I don't think there's any harm you taking aspirin, I'm on it due to being type 1 diabetic and I know @suz2285 is taking it without being advised to, but probably best to ask xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/11/2023 22:46

@Michah89 so sorry I never realised that you posted a picture of Sophie, your beautiful daughter. I'm so sorry again that you've had to go through this. Life truly can be cruel. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Michah89 · 16/11/2023 22:51

@Brokenpancreas94 life can be cruel , it is very painful but I have to keep going for my other children a d hopefully get pregnant again soon and all will be ok x

Michah89 · 16/11/2023 22:55

@tulipsunday I'm on antibiotics for the same thing as well so waiting for them to work before I do a test but just started with metallic taste in my mouth x

sweetpotato29 · 17/11/2023 10:41

So sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful daughter @Michah89 . I don't think there are any words to help, but sending you all the love and strength to get through this time.

Cpi11 · 17/11/2023 12:04

Hi all I am new to this and hoping for as much advice as anyone could give me! I have a 2 year old boy and had a miscarriage in September just gone. I have just found out I am pregnant again on Tuesday however I started my period yesterday (Thursday) and I am so confused on what this means. My mother and gran have both had periods in at least one of their pregnancies but I just don’t understand it can anyone help me? Has anyone else had a period while being pregnant?

tia xx

suz2285 · 17/11/2023 12:42

@Cpi11 welcome! I think the answer depends, it could be that you got a positive test but it's a chemical pregnancy and you're having a normal period now, so the pregnancy didn't 'stick' if you like

Or it could be early bleeding which can be common in early pregnancy and everything can also be fine, in that case it's not a period as such but just some sort of bleeding...

It's too early to say at this point so the best thing to do is just wait, if you call the early pregnancy unit that's probably what they'll advise anyway as they wouldn't normally scan until 6 weeks, so it's a very unknown time, can you wait till this bleeding ends then test again? If it's still positive it's likely that it's probably just a bit of early bleeding... and if it's negative it's probably been a chemical pregnancy

Sorry you're in limbo meantime, hope the above makes sense x

tulipsunday · 17/11/2023 15:34

@Cpi11 sorry you are in this limbo period I really hope the pregnancy sticks.

After telling a client my baby was due early Jan she told me she planned her three pregnancies to avoid a Xmas/Jan baby. Was hard to bite my tongue! Some people just don't realise what others go through..!
